And none of those characters have even been remotely hinted at as having some extreme vampirism/zombie-making abilities. One of the things about pre-Pudding 'special races' was that they were relatable to normal humans without some extravagant special ability. Dwarves are just tiny and fast, giants are just big and strong, long-legs/arms/necks are just humans with long legs/arms/necks. Shandians/birkans? They just have cool wings and came from the moon. Mermaids and fishmen- breathe underwater, strong and traits of their fish heritage but not absurdly overpowered blanket abilities.
Three-eyed tribe that can... read poneglyphs(???)? Lunarians introduced out of the blue as this legendary race that lived atop the Grand Line rushed into the story at the last second? Kaidou actually being a legit ONI and no further elaboration during his own flashback? Kuma being a "special race" with no further elaboration than "he's a special race"? And now if it's true, Stussy is some actual vampire race?
Even Big Mom is just a normal human who is a freak of nature that can overpower giants. Fighters like Sanji and Coby have extreme mobility underwater that can keep up with fishmen. Fighting styles of 'normal' people can allow flight. But that shit changed with the three-eyed tribe having a special ability that renders the Oharan's and Kozuki's passed down KNOWLEDGE redundant.
This is stupid. There's plenty of things about OP that I disagree with or don't like in general I've seen over the years, but this push towards special races has gotten stupid as fuck. Now the entire fandom is piling on about how this or that character is also of some special race. It's not good storytelling to have all this shit pop up out of the blue.
Next on the list: Senor Pink is from a special race of the manliest men! Roger was from a special race of pirate kings! Corazon is secretly from a special race of characters that were written well without the narrative crutch of being from a special race!
