This would literally mirror the traitor Homunculus in FMA. Makes me think we should have seen it coming sooner.

Greed betraying Father was organic and felt natural and the reader already had a deep interest in the character and his motivations. If this "mystery" traitor is really York, then that's kind of the opposite in every other way. Including the fact I have no reason to have any interest in York before this reveal, and this "mystery" has felt more like just being led around by the nose by Oda for no reason other than to pad out the arc.

Like every other Vega had cool jobs and here one is supposed to just eat and shit for the whole group. Vegapunk should have ensured to make that clone as low iq as functionally required in hindsight.

The execution definitely is very lacking compared to FMA if York's motives end up having to do with greed. I definitely would have preferred the giant brain becoming self aware and going down something like the Asmimov irobot route e.g. the logical conclusion to Vegapunks goal of free energy is to continue working with WG.

But at the moment without the explicit goal York has in mind being known it does come off as greed being the motive. Just what is she greedy for and how does that relate to initial purpose Vegapunk created her for is unclear.
