Kidd has being talking shit in the series for god knows how long with very little achievements to back it up, fair enough he's had no plot armor but he's also not heeded the warnings of his VC, Luffy would never overlook zoro/sanji's advice in a life or death situation.

Luffy maybe reckless, but he know when to retreat, he dont care if he die, but if he cannot protect his crews he will chose to retreat.

i think it should be absolute Brutal.. if Shanks let them go.. and when they r sailing out to safety into the sunset she ship literally explode by Dory and Brogy attack.. after they were defeated humillated.. and begged 4 mercy.. ¿ could Shanks be so cruel.. as make them believe.. they will leave alive. just for killing them merciless when they r leaving ?

Man I'd forgotten how much of a douche Kidd can really be. Honestly Shanks so far is more reasonable than Kidd himself. Last I checked he gave them a choice of fighting or giving up the poneglyph rubbings & leaving. Kidd has never been shown giving any form of mercy or non violent path out of encountering him (not even getting into a fight with him). If you ask me I think it would be great if Dory & Broggy destroyed their ship as they were leaving just to give Kidd a taste of his own medicine.

Kidd is by far the most disappointing character in the series to me. I had high hopes that slowly got whittled down to "dude please just figure out ACOC, this is getting ridiculous". Seems he didn't even do that.

Turns out Kidd had the greatest weakness of all: having an ability that's an utter pain in the ass to draw.

You people forget he didn’t get to see shanks last time someone probably held off Beckmann and I’m assuming it’s Kidd/Killer they’re not there yet but I’m assuming they stay on Elbaf and train.

Seeing the chapter, I am not blaming kidd for this. I am blaming oda. Kidd was always loud and perhaps brash but this was outright suicide. Not suicidal, suicide. Consider what we actually saw kidd do early in the story.

1.- Destroyed multiple big mom ships. Did he openly attack big mom? nope.
2.- Allied with hawkins and apoo to take out kaido. Was betrayed but at least acknowledged this was a big enough task that help was needed.
3.- Ultimately aligned with the strawhat's suicidal plan to take out kaido.

Meanwhile now we see his sorry as and his crew which is filled with random nobodies outside of kidd simply torpedo into shank's territory full well knowing the guy has forces that are ultimately comparable to what big mom and kaido had. Even if kidd believed he could go toe to toe with shanks (and going into a battle where the outcome is basically a cointoss isn't exactly smart) he should not believe he could have taken shanks and his crew AND his allied pirates. It's insane. Kidd was never this stupid before. Oda just needed something out of this development and didn't care about it actually making an iota of sense. RIP kidd, you were cool for a while but you stood no chance against the worst elements of oda's writing.

Challenging Shanks and taking things head-on isn't the problem. It's having zero plan or contingency, not listening to his VC, and throwing his crew to the wolves along with himself when we know full well he cares deeply for his crew. Idk about that "not expecting" thing, for all we know what territory Emperor's own is well known to other pirates. How else would they know to stay tf out of each others' territory? Elbaf isn't exactly some backwater nowhere like Winner Island where Law was ambushed. Elbaf is a major world superpower and incredibly important location, this'd be like somebody invading Fishman Island before Marineford and somehow not knowing it's Whitebeard's turf. Kidd basically did the piracy equivalent of that Arthur meme.

All the dude had to do to not be written like a complete idiot was to bolster his crew before heading out. Why on earth he didn't poach a bunch of Beast Pirates, I have no idea. Their aesthetic even fits his crew- a bunch of the Flying Six could've joined. Idk, SOMETHING.

That's simply not what we saw the last time we saw kidd. Kidd might have been on his way to saul but when he arrived to elbaf he saw an honest to god fleet and he seemed well aware it's commanding yonko was there. His reaction to that wasn't a tactical retreat, he simply bulldozed in like a lunatic. The world govcernment gathered 10000 elite marines to fight WB. The force that took down kaido's crew had thousands of members. Kidd saw a yonko's fleet and all he took was his basically defenseless crew. What kidd did is plain stupid and no different from suicide. I don't know why you bother defending this idiocy.

Kid is an idiot, but atleast that future sight peek redeems him a little bit powerwise - Shanks is just haki God and had to one-shot him before major damage.

Still though... you just had to team up to barely win the arguably weakest Yonko. And now you just barge in guns-flaring alone towards a fleet. Arrogant idiot.

The alliance was to take on Shanks, not Kaido. Since Shanks was the one that took his arm. In retrospect. That original 3 crews are weaker than the current Kid pirate crew. I think he is cocky now that he took down Big Mom and had a power up. And since he waited for so long to take down Shanks, there is impatient too.

Ah, you are correct they were targeting shanks. But still, my broader point does not change. Kidd had the sense to know he couldn't take a yonko on his own. How kidd actually took out a yonko, and even then just barely, was by working with others. Even the world government does not engage with a yonko without gathering as much military power as they can. What kidd did was undefensibly stupid and uncharacteristic even of him, this is simply poor writing. No one man could possibly defeat a yonko's affiliated crews, the entirely of their executives and it's yonko. Heck, in kidd's crew only killer is worth a damn to begin with, the rest of them are worthless. Even big mom or kaido wouldn't be stupid enough to try and solo a yonko's fleet, it's executives and it's yonko. Of course, if either of them shows up with their own executives then it's a full on war.

Not that I didn't enjoy Shanks retirement party for Kidd.

But I hope we get back too Bonney and Kuma this chapter, at least a little bit of it. Because at this rate we will have to wait untill the next SBS to find out what she saw.
