If this is true means BB must be able to just suck the power out of people while alive now too. Maybe that's the awakened ability of the darkness fruit. Mechanistically I hope it works like Moriah's shadow stealing to an extent, in that the power returns to the original user if they are left alive and BB gets beat up.
