I expect we'll get some more backstory but not that much. My guess is they'll get the Kaido treatment with part of a chapter dedicated to flashback but nothing like what we got for people like BM or Doffy. I think if we get any legit flashback this chapter it has to be for VP himself or better yet Kuma but now I'm not so sure anymore.

Kaido's flashback get held back on due to Oda choosing not to reveal Kaido's interactions with Rocks and such. Not sure why Oda would hold back here.

Woah so many pages of nonstop whining. You guys realize there’s a whole world out there to explore while we wait, right? Considering what Mangaka sacrifice for us to enjoy free( sometimes pirated—no pun intended) scans on a weekly basis, I think we can give him the courtesy of a few breaks inbetween even if they’re recurring. Use that time to pick up a new manga or binge read one you’ve always been tempted to try out.

Why only Oda break make a deal?
Other senior mangaka make 1 chap per half year n people not make it big deal.

I've largely forgotten about a lot of series I read or used to read. Every few years I remember then notice a few more chapters but then I can't remember where I was. I don't complain about Oda but we get addicted.

It's the way the world works. Nowadays when we get high quality tv series they often take a year or two between seasons (excluding the writers' strike). We get spoiled with like a season we can binge, and then nothing. I'm sure the forums are similarly complaining about series delays.

I think there is a significant portion of the readership that does not care about the plot at all, they just want Luffy and Zoro do masculine shit so they can brag with their friends how these guys are the greatest.

Your opinion. Personally I've been waiting for Gorosei, Imu and Blackbeard in action for years and current lore is really interesting and unpredictable... In contrary to Wano where we know what exactly is going to happen at the beginning of the arc but we didn't know how Luffy will defeat Kaido. If it wasn't for Joyboy lore it wouldn't be much more interesting than Dressrosa.

Was there no arrangement with Ruffy, that he will not touch any comarades of Ruff,my till he can beat him. Now he brokes his promiss?

Otherwise its possible that Lucci believes that Kizaru is too strong for Luffy and they can beat them together.

There was arrangement with Luffy but Lucci was breaking it in the last chapter by giving away information. He's stubborn cat, it was obvious he'd turn against the pirates if given a chance. It is funny how different he is from Kaku. I'd bet Kaku wouldn't do something like that, he's honourable... In other circumstances he could even be another Straw Hat, such a nice guy, like Usopp

Why?! And why especially Zoro I believe Zoro can't trust someone like Lucci and he suspects he is an informant (telling the marines about what's happening inside the island) and thus his no longer an ally or Lucci made a move that attracted Zoro's attention (like trying to save York or whatever)

People think Lucci is the pillar of integrity for some reason. Idk why. He literally killed a bunch of non hostile soldiers when he was a child. He was defending Charlos while he tried to kidnap Shirahoshi, too.

Not sure of what is strange about this spoiler. Lucci is a mass murderer, an assassin and someone who as far as we know is both loyal to the world government and also really likes his job. Lucci is by all accounts an evil piece of shit. If anything luffy even getting to him is what is massively out of character for lucci. As an assassin his entire deal should be about killing people in cold blood while at their most vulnerable regardless of their age or sex and not losing a bit of sleep over it. Also, the spoilers seem to suggest kizaru got there... Which is about as much support as he can possibly get. I don't think it would make sense for kizaru to get there and for lucci to simply watch him fight the strawhats. This is a rare instance where the WG and marines should be perfectly aligned.

Some thought maybe Lucci's inquisitiveness about Lulusia at the start of the arc indicated he could possibly turn on the WG if he finds out the truth about it or the Void Century... so so those people thought what he reported to Saturn last chapter would actually turn out to be false info to trick the Marines... which would be an interesting twist, but there'd have to be a well-written reason for such a drastic change in character.

I think finding he's still very much against the Straw Hats is more in line with what we should've expected from him, for sure. Not entirely ruling out that Oda has some sort of redemption planned for him, but I honestly kind of hope not.
