they could spin it that luffy killed vp, vice admirals and the elder. that the marines tried to stop him but failed to. make the marines the heroes, luffy the evil villain.

Wouldn't that be too much? We are talking about a WG that even hid the information about the Level 6 escapees. I don't think they would ever admit that an elder got killed, considering people probably never even saw an elder, that position could be played by anyone and the masses wouldn't question it. Vice admirals and VP on the other side are fair game.

I think they may just say Saturn died in battle against the SHs and have the VAs just go with that story. Same treatment as Moriah got after the end of Marineford. They can't exactly hide that he's gone since Gorosei have a new member so they just need a plausible story that won't connect back to Saturn being demoted by his boss who no one should know is the boss of WG. At the moment it seems clear that Imu's existence is not a complete secret and that others in Marigeose know he exists as a CD and seems that Garling already knew him as well. The big secret is that Imu is the true king of the WG that tells the Gorosei what to do and by last weeks chapter might also be the one who is the boss of the Commander of God's Knights.

On theory they could pretend Saturn just retired. But I doubt they will hide the fact that Saturn is dead, Imu was not discrete at all when killing him.

The Holy Knights have tremendous authority, it's no surprise some know of Imu. But I'm sure the regular Celestial Dragons have no idea. No way these idiotic buffoons would keep their mouths shut.

The regular CD are definitely buffoons so they may or may not know Imu exists. Some of them seem a bit more intelligent than the others. Also not clear if the big secret is Imu existing at all or if its the fact Imu is the true king. I definitely don't think the latter is known by anyone other than Gorosei and maybe leader of god's knights. But Imu's existence being known doesn't really have to be a secret. For one the fact that Saturn has been around centuries implies that people in WG already know of long lived CDs so why hide another one, if no one knows they are the real king? Kind of like hiding in plain sight.

The admirals are basically the WG Yonko. I don't see them stopping any Yonko after what Luffy did to Kizaru, granted he was somewhat emotionally compromised, he did have moments of seriously trying to beat Luffy. Especially with Saturn.

I think the Admirals will end up fighting against Yonko in the war but getting tied up with first mates, especially for Luffy.

I am most interested in who Dragon will end up fighting. Sakazuki is pretty fitting, especially since it has been revealed that Dragon was a Marine, he must have some history with Sakazuki... but by the same token so does Luffy, Luffy needs a win over him.

How the hell is Oda going to write this war!?! There are so many moving parts!

I know he is going to pull it off, and it will be the biggest war in Manga/Anime history.

Makes me wonder what the Emperor remnants will do. I bet they'll also link up out of desperation and a shared connection to Luffy. Marco already proved himself a top-tier ally and I'm fairly sure Katakuri and King are going to have a similar meet-up that Vivi and Shirahoshi did lol. I think the Emperor Remnants are going to be a counterweight to Cross Guild gobbling up all the available previous Warlords.

Lafitte disappearance really bothers me.
It should be Lafitte with Devon in Egghead Island. It does not make sense to be Van Auger since he was with Blackbeard fighting against Law. Van Auger's devil fruit power is, probably, the answer, but the range of the warp would, probably, be too insane to accept it.

Also, we've seen him with wings ONE TIME! The way Oda has shown us and given the names of every other Blackbeard pirate's Devil Fruit power, but Laffitte just pulls up to Impel Down with wings out then tucks them back in for a decade and a half.

I remember speculating back in Marineford days that he's got some sort of mythical Angel devil fruit that gives him wings and hypnotism powers... if you'd have told me "guess we'll see in the latter part of next decade" I would've... well, likely said "yeah, probably", but still.

Redon is hyping up the chapter. The best thing about it is we don't really know what to expect. Oda may completely surprise us, we're at the beginning of the new arc. Most of the beginnings of Oda's arcs are good or very good.

Makes sense he'd be keeping an eye on Mariejoa, considering his introduction chapter had him effortlessly strolling up to the Room of Authority without being detected until he wanted to be.

Actually I suspect he was keeping track of the Revolutionaries. Since they did find their base thanks to Burgess and this is just a follow-up to that plot line.
But it could be both.

Zou hit different in part because it was a connective tissue arc and had excellent pacing and economy of storytelling. Also that was the arc that started when I finally decided to officially catch up. Good-ass time to start, it was.
