I also wonder who that Wano West Blue guy at RRJ grave is on the cover story. I suspect he may be related to Fujitora.

He was on the big dilapidated shrine.. while the rest was just under the swords isnt it?.. a big shot .. it seems.. wonder who he was.

Also the hint about the fruit... I suppose it would track if Xebec was after the gomu fruit. And maybe BB was going after it but was misled by the WG rebrading the nika fruit into gomu fruit. The yami and nika fruit would make more a nice pairing as the rubbery properties of the nika fruit would probably offset the extra damage which the yami fruit causes one to take. BB going to war with luffy in order to take his nika fruit would make sense.

Assuming the silver axe was Redon trolling (I know he likes to do so occasionally) I take it the axe was simply referring to Gaban and we‘re still going with Harald‘s flashback. As I said before Roger visiting Elbaf and meeting with Harald should not be surprising to us. I‘m currently more puzzled about the devil fruit appearance comparison.

I m not surprised.. cause of course... he wasnt blind back then... if not by how happy he looks in addition to that... what could be the reason.. he developed in such a serious person, i guess it was once he lost his eyesight. . . i tough he was more Akainu like, literally born pissed out..

I couldn’t imagine he blinded himself as a kid. One idea I had is that he could have blinded himself after seeing all the atrocities Orochi did in Wano and then moved out because of that.

So, what are we supposed to think here?

Here are pictures of other devil fruits with similar swirl patterns. I put the Mera Mera no Mi because of its similarity in shape to the Yami Yam no Mi. The Axolotol fruit in particular is very similar to the nika fruit.
Point is, trying to discern the nature of the fruit is difficult to do with the non-vivre card fruits. I think that saying there is a power connection between the fruits simply based on appearance doesn't make logical sense.

However, I think the people saying that the fruits may have been mixed up by the person going for them might be onto something, just because of how similar they are. But at that point I think we all have to admit that the axolotl fruit would also cause a lot of confusion.

My guess is that Rocks was to Garp like Roger to Akainu, an older generation Roger must have been sort of a Rookie to Rocks.

i think is a rilvary kind of thing... the same as why EVERYONE on XEBEC crew..also want a piece of Roger,, it was cause a year earlier there was an encounter and nobody..like it how it ended,, KAIDO WAS SPECIALLY INTERESTED on having a piece of Roger,, and it there was a lot of factionswho were equal in power, and everething always end in a draw by both sides,, same for Garp, he was never able to beat him fully or captured IT WAS HIS DREAM MATCH, same for all of XEBEC´S CREW,,

I don't think they cross paths much, both seem well informed about the Will of D, but they didn't have a (known) relationship either as antagonist or as part of an alliance, which leads me to believe they didn't interacted much outside of God Valley, it seems Rocks was making his moves and setting up his plans, then God Valley happen and Roger/Garp put a stop to him in a way that stopped his whole plan, then Rocks pirates went their separate ways and Roger went on to clash once again with Shiki and, as we know, on multiple occasions with WB.

Why can a single Nika fruit not encompass both potentials? Gods have their virtues and their excesses.

That said, if Oda wants to do that, then great. I still think it's a giant jump fueled by excitement.
(But Oda's been doing giant jumps recently too. Just writing this so that you know I'm not discounting what you're saying.)

indeed,, according to timeline,, both of them Barely Joined the Marines by the time Xebec make his first appareance..on Mariejois, not even being a Pirate, maybe not even having a wanted poster,...,probably his first one was due to the Mariejois incident,,,such a startup to kick up his career as a pirate indeed...
i still want to know Who was,, and WHAT kind of powers,, had the Admiral Xebec Killed...just imagine the shock for whoever knew about it... a COMPLETELY RANDOM STRANGER..NOT BEING A PIRATE...A TOTAL NOBODY,, just invade Mariejois...Kidnapp 5 kings...Kill an admiral..and Probally....Probably....injured the 5 Gorosei.. (not a fact)...aaaandd...it reach Imu´s room... no wonder they cover up everething... ohhh i forgot...he also attacked a WN. ship.. steal it, and destroy a Justice gate,, but im not sure if this happened while he was scaping Mariejois or Later.
