Volume 51's background was blue, volume 50's was black, volume 49's was green, and volume 48's was also blue, and volume 47's was black and white. That's every volume in the last year, and none of them were pink.

I was exaggerating a bit ^^ ANd pink was just a example, they are most, light colored, bright and neon. And it bothers me only because I have all the books in my bookshelf, and it doesn't look too good in my other wise detailedly decorated room ^^ Or actually, it kinda bring some energy to the big picture

Not to go too offtopic, I'd like to mention that Brook really fits in the posse

translation mistake? could be sth. like "here comes vol. 52" ... it's unlike Oda to give something as accurate as xyz volumes left...

I would agree. The volume in which Jimbei's face is revealed would be the perfect opportunity to have a volume cover of all seven Shichibukai together.

I'm not exactly sure just how many chapters go into a typical OP volume and about where the next OP volume will end. The next should cover the Kuja mini-arc definitely, but how much of the ID arc? If it includes the entirety of the ID arc, then I think it would be more fitting to have the cover feature Luffy and his allies in the prison break (Hancock, Buggy, Mr. 3, Mr. 2, Ace maybe, etc.).

OP volume has nine or ten chapters. Volume 52 ended in chapter 512 - "Zoro, Vanished". It means next volume will be entirely Kuja mini-arc, except for chapter 513.

I predict volume 53 will be up to chapter 522 -"Fatal Disease".

So, then my prediction for the next volume cover is simply Luffy amongst the Kuja. Hancock, her sisters, Nyon, Marguerite, and her friends should all like be there, perhaps all pointing their boas and arrows at him.

Hmm... Them I have in mind most likely the defeat and separation of the Strawhats. Either Kuma, Kizaru and Hancock on the cover with Luffy on the foreground, and shadows of the Strawhats on the foreground.

Why would a cover focus on just ONE chapter in an entire volume, especially the first? That was the problem with all of the predictions for the cover of volume 52: Everyone thought it would be the Straw Hats crying and being defeated, except that that was only for ONE chapter that (almost everyone thought) would be at the end of the volume. Why would you design the cover off of one chapter, especially the first or last chapter of the volume? The cover of a volume should focus on the general theme of the volume. For volume 52, that was the battles on the Sabaody Islands (the cover didn't focus on those either, but that's a different issue). For volume 53, that's the Amazon Lily arc.

I expect the volume to go from chapter 513 to chapter 523 (depending on whether or not they wanna make the readers think that the story is about to focus on the other Straw Hats or if they wanna leave off at what appears to be the end of the Amazon Lily arc and the set-up for Luffy going to Impel Down, it could go either way, I think). I'm betting on the cover having Marguerite, Nyon, Hancock, and Luffy. Maybe Momonga. But certainly nothing about chapter 513. At most, Kuma in the background or something like that, but I greatly doubt it.

I don't expect Kuma in the background, but perhaps a paw imprint or 9 splitting clouds in the sky. Marguerite and Hancock will definitely be on the cover, the snake sisters and Nyon are debatable, but likely considering they also took quite a few pages to themselves.

I can't see Momonga or anything Shabondy there.

It's perfect, it looks cool and it captures the main theme of the volume: the Kuja arc. I can let the hat go, though it is a bit off. The rainbow is just a nice touch. I can only wish that volume 52 had a cover as appropriate.

To me the cover is alright, could be better, imo. As has been said Luffy's hat is weird, and his colors (blue shirt w/red pants) kind of throw me off as well. I miss the original red shirt. The Kuja look good though. I like the colors of the two we didn't have a color scheme for.

Nice cover! Capture the entire Kuja arc! Though for me the name of the volume should be taken from chapter 516 but insted was used "The Quality of a King", that's pretty good too, it means they are focusing on Luffy's grown as main character!

BTW, Boa is so beutiful~~~ with her angry face looking toward Luffy!
