Why Vergo would be a spoiler? Kinemon or Monet (and even the heart-swapped people) weren't a spoiler by appearing on the last cover? Law is different because we already knew him, so see it on the cover would ruin the surprise, but Vergo on the cover says nothing about the plot or the relationships with other characters. So he can be on the next cover with no problems at all.

uhm,you are right for some aspects. yet,keep in mind that neither monet nor kinemon were really important characters,instead seeing law there would have explained that he is the shichibukai there,and that before revealing it through reading the manga. vergo is a new character,that's true,but he might be mistaken for joker. nah,I'm not really believing this. you were right,but keep in mind what I said nonetheless!

really? so bad! chapter 677 would have been an awesome end for a volume,whereas chap 678 isn't. I dislike how oda's making his volumes...

nope,he is the one who decides how many chapters each volume must contain and who draws the cover. of course is nice having more chapters,but I don't like when a volume ends in a bad way. chap 677 would have represented a much cooler end,which makes suspence to buy the next volume!

I didn't know that! But what I ment was that probably there are other factors that determine de size of volumes and number of chapters (like editors and things like that...).

BTW, what do you mean by "who draws the cover? Isn't it Oda himself?

That is not true as far as i know. The publisher decides how many chapters go into a volume depending on the chapter count since the individual chapters vary between 16 and 20 pages. The only things Oda does are the art and and the SBS.

The covers are drawn by Oda himself.

That is not true as far as i know. The publisher decides how many chapters go into a volume depending on the chapter count since the individual chapters vary between 16 and 20 pages. The only things Oda does are the art and and the SBS.

Not entirely right. In some cases the author can decide how many chapters a volume should contain. For instance, Kishimoto asked the publisher to make a volume with 13 chapters as he thought the story would conclude better this way.
So yeah, I'm not really sure whether this means they always decide or only have the opportunity to decide.

eheh I meant that Oda is the one who decides how many chapters are in a volume and he is the one who draws covers as well. Googlez-kun pointed a good thing out: it's oda's the ultimate choice of the chapters number.

something concerning wat we were talking about last time,that is oda and the number of chapter: in the SBS of volume 63 he did state that he wanted to make vol.63 containing 12 chapters,and he obtained it http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_63 .

Interesting that Caesar's gas has a snowy feel to it. Fits with the general winter aspect of the arc, Monet having a snow fruit, plus they are mostly on the snowy side of the island.
