Sorry, this is not an update, but in fact a pretty bad news, maybe.

There will be no chapters of Orange in the foreseeable future. By that, I mean January and the month of February. AT LEAST two months.
The chapter that was supposed to be released in Japan this month never came out…Betsuma’s website shows that there was no chapter and offers no explanation. Same goes for next month. So it isn’t our failure to do something this time, it’s something beyond our whatsit.
Hopefully Takano Ichigo is okay, but only time will tell.

That's a real shame, Orange is one of my favorite series. Hopefully it's back this month. Betsuma comes out next week, so I guess we'll find out soon. Chapter 9 was one of my favorites too. Taka was extra awesome, slapping Ueda.

Ahhh >< I was wondering why there still hasn't been a release yet. Orange is indeed not listed on this/next month's Betsuma line-up That's a real shame. Orange was fast becoming one of my favorite shoujo, even if it was only 9 chapters long. I tried scouring for info too but couldn't find much even on 2ch (though I didn't have the time to read every post). Like Ikari said, Takano-sensei had written on her blog in September last year that she was going to stop being a mangaka after Orange, and her blog was taken down shortly after and then... She was never heard from (publicly) again :/

I wish the magazine would at least make an official statement about the matter rather than staying silent, though.

That's a real sad news that she's going to stop after Orange. I like her artwork quite much, being simple but lovely as it is. But at least it's a good sign that she's planning to continue Orange and finish it properly. I guess the problem is whether it'll still be published, because manga scan groups depend on that, no? >_<

This is so sad and disappointing. I just hope that the mangaka will continue and finish orange. I don't want it to end like this and a rushed ending is definitely not what I want for this series.

at 9 chapters I don't even think they'll force her to make an ending. They can simply cancel it if its that short.

Orange is not in the lineup of the magazine anymore so I don't think we will ever see a new chapter of this serie.

Very sad to see this happen. The last chapter was not really that "hanging" but still, I'm pretty gutted by the fact that this manga is cancelled - even if that's probably not the most appropriate word for the situation.

Ah... this is really sad news for such a promising manga I was afraid it would come to this. I do wonder why she suddenly decided to throw aside her pen and stop drawing manga, and why she stopped right in the middle of one! Kinda strikes me as a bit irresponsible but I'm sure she had her reasons.

Orange doesn't run in BETSUMA anymore. It seems that they moved it to another magazine but we don't know which yet. The mangaka did announce that she will quit making manga but only after finishing orange. I hope this still stands as I don't want this manga to end like this.

I wonder if she would continue this one..
This is very good series, the plot is really beautiful with pretty art, though i'm not that sad i could shed a tears as people says when they read it.. haha..
Am i a little insensitive here? This series is sad but it was not so depressing for me..
But it was definitely better than most shoujo out there..

I tried her previous complete serie Dreaming Sun but did not really fell into it like I did for Orange. After a few chapters the main character annoyed me and I lost interest.

If anyone is looking for a replacement for Orange, I'd recommend trying Stand Up. It's a new series, only three chapters long, but it has a very similar thoughtful, introspective mood. More of a straight romance, without the tragic undertones, but Stand Up should still satisfy Orange fans.
