the story is very good, i wouldnt say original cause it reminds me a little bit of H2, just the part about the school not having a team, but also the art is amazing very different from the other baseball manga, to me the art seems different when the people are just hanging out than when they are playing baseball, in a good way, so overall it is a good series for me and i hope the Mangaka keeps it up

Most shonen jump sports mangas start out with schools that don't really have a team (or enough people to have a team) it's a character introduction technique, that way they can introduce characters instead of just having them there and then developing them. It's better for the mangas to do it that way than to start off with a team because it would be dull.

Re: Over Time releases and discussion thread

just to let you guys know, i have been working on chapter 6 but if any of you guys have share and can find the higher quality versions of chapters 7 and 8 (seeing as the pink page raws usually suck to high heaven)then i would appreciate it. I would get it myself but i can't use share on my college line...

Re: Over Time releases and discussion thread

Omedeto, but you're still one chapter behind ^^"

I'm surprised I'm the first to say it here, after that manga is places in the first half of SJ after getting into the rating, and it's still not a popular topic here... Shows us how much our and the japanese taste is different ^^"

Re: Over Time releases and discussion thread

i know we are behind. Ill wait for three more chapters to come out before doing anything. (besides, I am lazy :P)

I know about the ToC. Its ridiculous. This series is actually good and has great artwork and more people care about other manga that are doing horribly now and have horrible artwork rather than this. Well, at least being popular in japan ensures its survival.

Re: Over Time releases and discussion thread

That's just the thing with Sports manga in general.
It's much more popular in Japan than here... just look at something like Major, which is huge in Japan; but here hardly anyone knows about it... A bit more maybe now, with the anime; but still.

*sigh*
Well, when their series gets cancelled maybe they will consider trying out the one that worked out in jump.

Re: Over Time releases and discussion thread

Eyeshield proves that a sports manga can be succesfull outside of Japan though. I guess... US doesnt like realistic sports series? ...
What I wouldnt do to get some Adachi licensed.

Re: Over Time releases and discussion thread

From what i hear, Adachi, if anyone, deserves a license. (I hear what you say about realistic sports but with a ghost inhabiting a kids body, this one left regular behind in chapter 01)

Re: Over Time releases and discussion thread

Over Time is only 10 chapters young; in no way can you judge its popularity at this moment.
It got off to a decent start and doesnt seem doomed right away looking at the TOC, and that's all you can really hope for now.

Even if more people tend to like unrealistic sports series, just like Eyeshield, they need more time than adventure/action shounen to get through to people. Cause ES21 as well, wasnt popular outside of Japan right off the bat... It took at least the first year or 2 of serialization before that happened.

Re: Over Time releases and discussion thread

I understand what you mean about Over Time. My assumptions were based on the ToC, which is the only thing i have as a litmus test seeing as i have no idea how to guage it otherwise. On average, if a series is gonna get cancelled, it starts to show signs of such around this time, like how murasame-kun and tsukihagi never get out of the bottom half. I am more excited about the fact that it isn't getting cancelled than anything. I just wish people would give it a shot, is all. Hopefully, by the time the re-releases come out it will have garnered some more fans but i am not naive. I mean sports manga don't typically have swords and superpowers, so people lose interest relatively quickly at the sound of it.

Anyway, only time will tell the fate of this manga, but for the moment, it is good.

Meh, it doesnt really matter as long as new chapters keep appearing.
