Pair Puri are a set of Shin Tenipuri guidebooks that started being released this month

The first of which is Sanada/Atobe

Included in this is a few short omake. One features the average morning for Atobe and the other shows a morning at Sanada's house.

Also included are some short character analysis pages, including a timeline for each character and the equipment each uses.

The best part, it's all in color.

I'll be scanning this and working my way on translating it all.

The second is expected in December and will feature Tezuka/Shiraishi.

Why do I imagine a morning in the Sanada household being very similar to a morning in the Tezuka household?

As for the info presented, a lot of it just builds on stuff in the databooks.

However the most interesting thing is the timeline which shows the most important events in the characters' lives by their age and the month of the year in that age. For example, it'll tell you exactly what year Sanada started his rivalry with Tezuka and such.

Also interesting is each character school schedule and such.

Sanada's comic shows you his little brother and apparently he and his grandpa share a rivalry with the Tezuka family.

I saw that. His little brother reminds me of a young Yanagi. And his grandfather looks so easy-going, the exact opposite of what I expected.

The short story of Atobe jumping out of an airplane was absolutely hilarious. Even without knowing the dialog its still funny. Atobe's a blond now? Wasn't he a brunette before?

As for the info presented, a lot of it just builds on stuff in the databooks.

Ah, that's good to hear. I'm a geek for that sort of thing. Its a pity more of the other databooks aren't online too.

Haha, you're right, guess I shouldve looked at the chapter more closely ^^;; (didn't really read it, just snippets >.>;

Atobe's always been light-brown-haired on the manga. The anime dyed his hair dark blue for some reason.

But then again, a lot of characters have their hair dyed for the anime. Like Kamio's purple, which was originally light brown aswell. Ootori's blonde hair was originally white (or was it the opposite?), Jiro had brown hair and the anime's blonde, and we could carry on almost forever.

First of all, huge thanks to Sai_the_Shaman for posting this up so quickly.

Now I am really curious to see what the other pairings will be, more specifically, who is Konomi-sensei going to pair with Echizen. He's only ever played doubles with Momoshiro, hasn't he? Or will the pairs not depend on whether they've played doubles together?

At any rate, this is awesome squared. ^_^

I'll admit to being a little disappointed there. I kinda want to see Sanada with a cute little brother, but I suppose a cute little nephew works just as well.

Interesting that those four have known each other for so long. I can see how Sanada and Yukimura could have met in elementary school or something, but with Atobe and Kabaji I have to wonder. Atobe seems like such a jet setter. I can't imagine him staying in one place long enough to make a friend as devoted as Kabaji.

I never pay attention to anime hair colors since they are generally unrealistic and not exactly "canon" anyway. Not to mention that I only ever watched the anime for the crack.

I was speaking purely of his hair color is Konomi's color manga pages. It was a medium to light-ish brown, which is why I am surprised to see Konomi change it to an almost highlighter yellow in all of the Shin TeniPuri material.

Well like you said, Atobe is a trend setter. It's not too far fetch to believe Atobe would lighten his own hair color...

Plus we have that whole issue of how he grew his hair back so quickly.....

I'm pretty damn sure its still a wig. The colouring is nice though.

Haha! True enough. But I've always though that lightening one's hair in Japan was the hip thing for younger people to do, so he's hardly setting a trend. Either way, I guess it doesn't matter. I just have a dislike of bright yellow manga hair. It looks too cartoon-y.

And, yeah, in one of Konomi's interviews someone asks about Atobe's miracle hair and he says its a wig. He could have been joking, though. Somehow I can't see Atobe wearing a wig. He's too proud.

Is there any possibility that these pair puri issues will become scanlated? I mean, I had my hopes up, but I do notice that there's a whole lot of text and all. It seems like a lot of work, but I would really appreciate it if someone did do it.

I'll be working with Ivory in JAC to get them scanlated. She's a tenipuri fan and a great editor, so expect something down the road ^^
