How do you guys think the PLF would react to quirk erasing bullets? As far as I can tell these should be something the PLF should heavily object to given their origins in the meta liberation army. However shigaraki was looking for the doctor to see if he could recreate the drug... So presumably the doctor already has them and might be working on them.

So... how would the relationship between shigaraki and the PLN be affected if they are used?

Hm...

I myself am pretty unsure how Horikoshi will bring Quirk erasing Bullet in the picture.

In the beginning, I thought that when Chisaki apprehended the bullet thing would be over, but seems like Horikoshi has long term plan with it.

However if they can replicate the bullet as many as they can, I don't know how the heroes side will handle that. The balance will crumble hard.
I assume even if they can replicate it, they can only produce a few bullets at a time.

but I have another theory.

Since the bullet created from a quirk, it may be possible to give the element of the bullet to a person and Ujiko/other PLF scientist to make 'Permanent quirk eraser Holder'

Or they apply it on some machine to erase quirks of captured heroes, and then show it to society to create panic.

I still don't buy it that Re-Destro is 100% supporting Shigaraki. In my eyes he gave up and acts all obsequious to protect his own life and the lives of his followers.
Once he finds out about the bullets they will have a fight again.

We saw redestro's thought process through the whole thing. I don't really see how it makes sense for him to not be currently exactly what he pretends. If he has but a shred of the ideals he mentioned originally left in him it'd make some sense for him to sour on shigaraki once he learns of the bullets though. That said, I don't think he has any of that left in him. We saw a small flashback of him and how he was raised into the MLA, the context suggests the endgame there is for redestro to be free of that as well meaning he probably won't care about it in the future. Redestro unfortunately was made into less than he was by shigaraki (horikoshi) going from having actual ideals and principles of quirk liberation to having absolutely no principles and just wanting the contextually different liberation shigaraki displayed. It'd make more sense for the rest of MLA members to turn on shigaraki going forward. At least the portion of them that won't be affected by shigaraki like redestro was.

well, the MLA had no qualms whatsoever with “sacrificing” people like Toga —someone who’s just trying to express her quirks freely, something which is perfectly in line with their goals— to advance their agenda, so I don’t really see why they would have a problem with using the quirk-erasing bullets.

Moreover, unlike Overhaul whose goal is to eventually get rid of quirks, Shiggy just wants to destroy the current system, not erase quirks completely. He’s more likely to use the bullets just to incapacitate heroes.

They also don’t have the means to mass-produce the bullets since it was made by modifying Eri’s quirk factor. Unless the Doc gets hold of Eri and obtains Overhaul’s method of modifying her quirk factor, I don’t see the bullets becoming more than a last resort weapon.

I think theoretically it’s possible for the Doc to “copy” Eri’s quirk into a Nomu (just like what he did with Johnny and the black goo teleport quirk— although it should be noted that we don’t really know whether “copying” quirk is really possible or there's another explanation as of why we saw Johhny using the quirk AFO used), so they have a near infinite supply of Eri’s quirk factor. But then again, the PLF already has Shiggy, Redestro, Twice, Dabi, Geten, and Gigantomachia, in addition to the civilian fighters of MLA. On top of that, the situation with Endy’s family issue and Hawks’ double agent issue— which are just waiting to implode on themselves. The PLF doesn’t really need to go through the trouble of kidnapping Eri, finding a way to obtain an almost infinite supply of her blood, and then obtaining Overhaul’s methods, just so they have more weapons. They already have plenty of weapons to take down the hero society and then some.

But those are contextually different things. The MLA had no qualms sacrificing anyone for their overall goal of making quirk usage legal. But ridding people of quirks is contextually different from that. It really depends on how horikoshi handles this but at least my read on the situation should be that ridding someone of a quirk should be completely against their goals and principles. I mean, how does ridding someone of a quirk fit into an ideology whose entire endgame is using quirks? They'd have to justify this somehow with it furthering their goal of quirk liberation (within the context of making them legal- I feel to be specific given how horikoshi plays with context to make things which aren't similar appear similar based on semantics like the MLA and villain alliance).

Shigaraki in turn has no goals, principles or objectives. Shigaraki is a destroyer who takes advantage of other people's principles. Like how he used stain to lure in people who cared about what stain had to say in spite of the fact that shigaraki couldn't give less of a crap about stain or his ideals. Or how the MLA gave itself up to him in spite of the fact that shigaraki doesn't give a crap about making quirks legal.

See, the thing with fanaticism is anything can be twisted to be good or bad. Just tell every PLF member the heroes don't deserve the gift of having quirks and voilà!

Re-Destro is interesting in that aspect. Yes, we were in his POV but Re-Destro may be getting second thoughts on having Shiggy lead the PLF. It doesn't take away from him thinking Shiggy is the most liberated, just that his personality doesn't fit in what Re-Destro ultimately wants.

Still, you can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs, so if Shiggy wants Japan destroyed it should be fine for Re-Destro, as long as the end result is everyone left alive having free reign to use their quirks.

Looking back... that is pretty much what already happened so perhaps that is actually a reasonable explanation. Plot wise its terrible but if the MLA was able to accept shigaraki as their supreme leader pretty much because redestro said so so it's by no means a stretch that they would accept quirk erasing bullets that easily.

You are assuming that redestro still cares about quirk liberation. But to me that just doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Redestro originally definitely cared about quirk liberation. That was his deal. Shigaraki in turn... had as an objective to destroy hero society. When he was specific at least, usually his objective is merely destruction. But when he fought shigaraki he witnessed "true liberation"... Which in context was shigaraki just being without ties or principles. He was free. Its a massive fallacy to suggest that the original goals of shigaraki and the MLA had any common ground, both wanted freedom in entirely different contexts. The only scenario where redestro joining shigaraki makes sense is one where he gave up on his principles and ideas and embraced the liberation he saw in shigaraki (which I stress has zero points in common with the MLA objectives beyond the word liberation) and is also simply going for the arbitrary destruction he witnessed shigaraki carry out. Which also makes sense as a response to redestro being indoctrinated into the MLA from a young age. This is redestro lashing out against ideals and principles in general.

Which takes us back to the original point... It's perfectly reasonable that redestro could just say quirk erasing bullets are fine and a substantial part of the MLA would follow. They already accepted the fallacy that the liberation the MLA and villain alliance was seeking had points in common so they might as well just snort whatever other idiocy comes out of redestro at this point. BUT the MLA has about 100k people. It's not likely that all of them will be cool with it. There are bound to be people within it that actually stand for the MLA's original objective and by extension object to quirk erasing bullets. The majority of it is bound to simply follow but if, say, 5% of it objects that's still a lot of people. Enough to even have an impact on the plot if horikoshi wants it to.
