the greatest damage was at the next island to ours, iloilo, MD's place. typhoon center barely missed us. its okay now, the weather's really hot as of this moment. asmof i only slept three hours because of the heat

the ferry accident was really devastating. there still a lot of bodies in there, floating. that was certainly bad management, both by the ship and the weather dept, they shouldn't have been sailing in that strong wind

check the background of sulpicio lines. they've got more than 10 disasters in 20 years. my classmate told me that the ferry that sank was the one they took last summer. it was awfully old, she said. not even seaworthy.

local news here. it seems that the main pipeline for the whole city proper got damaged "beyond repair", it'll take them daw at least 5 months to fix it since yung lumang pipeline nila is not operational anymore. sucks, eh? we spend at least Php150 for water everyday. arrrgg!

on a side note: weather here where I live has been crazy...first, it gets really hot, then severe thunderstorms that are able to produce tornadoes come through, then it gets cool for a couple of days...then right back to the same routine...*sigh* I wish it would stay one temperature year round, but that's just not the case in my climate region...

ur in tornado valley? isn't kinda boring to see endless fields of wheat or corn there? well at least here we get hours of warning for a typhoon compared to seconds for a tornado. but some ships are just too stubborn....

gud luck with the situation. that's why my household here and our apartment sources water from wells. you just worry about electricity and pump maintenance and ur free from irregular water supply.

@TM (mind if I do that?)- nope, don't live in Tornado Alley...but, if storms get too severe around anywhere, they can produce tornadoes...they are just more of them out there because of the climate and the terrain...
