ooooh Ippo, my cousin introduced me to manga with that series. the very first i've ever read. malayo ka na ba? kasi sa umpisa parang magkakamukha lahat ng tao nila pero yung mga bagong chapters maganda na yung animation.

Maganda sya. If you want an inspiring plotline, Ippo is the manga for you. Grabe! Highly recommended ko din ito. Although di ko sya masyado nabasa. Brother ko kase nagbasa nito and then pasundot sundot lang ako.

BTW, you'll be laughing at Aoki's stints and stunts pag nabasa nyo yung manga. Sa anime, di pa masyado nakakatawa yung mga joke sa kanya e. Pero sa manga, grabe!

ako din. pero di naman ako naiyak. naaawa lang ako sa kanya. pero sobrang blessed naman si forrest kaya parang no need to worry. this is one of the few American movies that I really liked. AMong them are the Truman Show, Beautiful Mind, Big Fish and American Beauty. Everything else is cliche to me.

"life is a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you'll get". eto yung famous phrase diyan. hindi yata nag apply sa mga pinoy yan kase yung mga chocolate nating gifts me pangalan na sa labas . in that setting kasi it's always kinda home-made or specially wrapped

@bakashi: you have good taste for movies too bakashi. a beautiful mind, big fish, all those inspirational movies, that act kinda like indie movies, you know the ones that win in the cannes festival but not in the oscars . i like those too, and creativity is always the key factor in those kinds

@MD: i think i have to start reading ES21 too, and if i like it (im pretty sure i will like it ) ill start Editing it... i have to finish a novel im reading at the moment tho, and smarting up how the AI thinks in my prog

my week has been filled with if elses, for loops, whiles and returns. truly the algorithm is the hardest part of any programming. it's working tho (it's a four in a row game) but my AI is still pretty weak . plus i read the novel if ever i get pissed

mahirap talaga ai...one of the few things from the human mind a computer is having a hard time to mimic along with pattern recognition since computers are designed for huge amounts of brute force computations and simulations....keep in mind the limits of a turing machine when designing your ai...

you know, i still dont get the similarity in me and jun, except the hair! my avatar is actually this pic, i was bored and doodling with mspaint and a spark of an idea just came to mind :


what i theoretically do in AI is to translate how i would think into machine language, yeah like the turing experiment. then make the necessary formulas on achieving that... AI is really fun all in all, it's kinda exploring your own mind too

no, im talking about my programming language, which is object-oriented, which has a compiler, which translates bytecodes into machine language, you know (you do know this more than i do). haha, i didnt literally mean im using machine language. i use java btw. im so-so at c++ but im not contented at java... mainly pride issues. i mean c++ is like pico and java is wordstar, and visual basic is msword. haha. i want to learn them all tho

ahhh java pala, really useful for complex high-level programming but crap for low level/embedded systems...u use netbeans or eclipse? or horror of horrors---ms visual j#? haha...
btw, there's a freely downloadable edition of that...full of addictive, user friendliness features but a crappy language nonetheless... imo, pico and wordstar are almost the same....have u tried ed, the line editor? haha, sobrang hirap nun...but nothing beats low-level, hardcore c/c++ with system calls intermixed with assembly...

btw, java is not strictly open source, well until recently, i.e. licensing issues but it's more or less like most other open source progs out there na...

wish our society were like that though, nude bathing scenes and mixed bathing places....we can blame it due to some dammn, hypocritical "fathers" and "brothers"--for you yonie, who spread not just the seeds of faith but their own among us pinoys during the colonial era...

you know what, i will always suck with embedded systems. ever. that would be surprising given that my father is a masters electrical engineer himself but fck! it seems that i have a curse for working with electronics... i cant even make a simple junction with the paths, but that would be an understatement, i cant even hold insert an IC properly! whenever i work with a circuit my hands get all sweaty and not only i get static i also get pissed so much... even if i follow the diagrams well something will always get wrong... electronics is just a no-no for me, better stick with the software parts

my great grandfather came to bacolod in the war, impregnated my great grandmother (their picture was weird, it was like the past life of ferdinand marcos and imelda ) and left his japanese seed to grow in the ground . but that seed was pretty strong, mind you. the japanese features will always prevail in our family, defeating the other bloods in the mix. for example, my siblings and i are 1/16 jap but we look more japanese than my father's... well, 100% filipino look. so did my cousins and others

yep! nagkakasundo ata tayo yonie when it comes to movies and all (lalo na sa spoilers )
anyway, mas gusto ko kase ang movie kapag ang story ay maganda. I could care less if CG is lacking. I could care less if there are no exploding cars, helicopters, guns out of this world, chicks doing somersault naked (wait! I may consider that...)

the point is I wanted to watch a movie with avery good story.

I remember, nung college pa ko, yung mga classmates ko nag-aya manood ng sine. back then ang palabas is KingKong. Kasabay nya yung "Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros". Ewan ko sa kanila, kung bakit pinili nila yung Maximo samantalang alam nilang di nila ma-aapreciate. Ako, I appreciated it so much. Naiinis lang ako kase inaapi nila yung camera handling daw, tapos low budgeted yung movie...e namaaan~ kaya nga indie film yun e. So nainis lang ako kase sinasabi nila after nung movie na sana KingKong na lang ang pinanood namin.

I loved the movie, and I don't care about what they are saying. Pero nainis ako ng husto nung talagang pinagkaduldulan nung isa kong classmate na walang kwenta yung movie just because they don't have CG or special cameras that can cover from the top of the empire state building. What the hell was that comment? Is that what a movie should be all about? CG? Tapos tatawanan ka pa dahil nagustuhan mo yung movie. Grrrrrrr!

while y tu mama tambien has good parts that are worth mentioning, I didn't like the story very much. I don;t know if it's a culture gap but then, I don't see myself fighting with my childhood friend over a girl who suddenly wants to make out with both of us. I dunno. I found the story shallow kase.

Though I really liked the pool scene that you mentioned KTS. Had they created more scenes like that then they might have just bagged that Best Cinematography that they were nominated for.

haha, i stopped watching the musical coz it was so GOOSEBUMPY! aaahh! trust me, when you listen to a lot of indie rock and suddenly exposed to conventional jpop... you'd know how i feel

@re the beck thread: i just scanned quickly the thread. i didnt see the post of someone saying beck wasnt dropped at all and he was kinda angry at all the misunderstandings of the posters there, and then because i didnt know that beck was still ongoing i cheered on emery for his new group and for continuing beck, and hehe, good thing bbsai told me. i reread and edited my post

@indie movies: you're right! so what if there are no CGs or special effects whatever... maximo was so low-budgeted that the director sleeps in the squatter setting himself! but the story is so different from the stereotypical (shit) loveteam movies that infests our simple minded movie industry... gawd me bago na naman si toni at si sam... rossana roces' bold movies have better plots. i hate most "blockbuster" movies showing lately... eragon, the james bond flick, literally not another teen movies, gawd. money is big with stereotypes but for us picky critics we could die of dissapointment...
