btw, does anyone here remember how to play chinese garters?

I seems to remember the first level, then it goes higher and higher, right? Then there was also a level where level 1 is done, but with only one leg each, used to hold the garters.

Then a second level where there's a criss cross or something.

I'm desperate to remember. I wnt to teach my young cousins XD

@DZ, ola! long time no hear! There's also the fast level where you just skip the garters. There's also the exhibition parts. There's also the erm... how do i say it... erm... basta yung usual count pa rin pero skipping motion... aaa ang hirap iexplain. do you get what I mean? XD

nga pala, I'm hosting a house warming party tomorrow night. Wala lang. first ever.

Ate sai: Yaaah! Someone remembered! Think you could give me a walk through? Hinde kasi alam nung mga kano (when I asked the mods) kung ano un' eh. And the asian mods have yet to answer.

We used to play it in school though. I learnt it from some arab girls (who might've learnt it through some asian girls as well XD)

I could only remember this, so correct me if I made a mistake here XD

we do jumpropes when we were little ... i was always the best, we would always compete who reaches 100 straight jumps... i could be the star of a jumprope shonen. "Jumpman Yonie"

But we just jump It's fun if you keep playing it everyday! That's how we spent break-time Always start at a low hieght though, and work your way to the top. Starting high will get you tired easily...as most of us had to learn >.>

I remember this when we were kids. There's a team and there would be mothers and kids. When a kid "dies" (is out of the game) the mother would be able to "revive" them by jumping for them.
And we were always on the lookout for those bigger neechans who do cartwheels when the height is beyond the heads.

Bah! Never got the hang of this game. We love to play Moro-moro and Black 1-2-3 before. And those street Football, tumbang preso, Luksong Baka and the such. Most of the girls in our neighborhood play "garter" games, like Chinese garters, Ten-Twenty and another one which I forgot.


EDIT: BTW DZ, your diagram on the other page is the game Ten-Twenty. After you place your feet inside the garters, you put your feet together (counting 70), pull them apart (counting 80), then putting them together again (for the 90 count) then step on the garters for the last count. It changes though when the garter is at chest level. For the last count, you don't need to step on the garter rather you need to get your feet outside the area of the garter. So your garter should be, well, under your crotch.

@DZ, what bakashi said, that's exactly what i wanted to point out. What i mentioned was what we called chinese garter (game) and the one you drew was ten-twenty (which is only popular in luzon, i think...).

In the chinese garter game, the garter reaches up to full extended arm level above the head, and depending on your agreement, you could jump (yep, some could do that) or cartwheel as long as you could go over the garter. But going once over is enough. The usual counts reach up to neck level (hanggang dito lang ako dati haha).

@all, toga? statue of liberty? hmm... not far from possible. I do have excellent curtains for that XD- pero kung may topak na ako.

Wheee. I remember the first time I learnt patintero. We were in Mabini with my cousins, and they were all playing it with the adults. XD There were about 30 or so of us, so it was HUGE. XD

@weird families- i have 2 nieces that are 20-15 years older than me...one of them has a kid....siyet na malagket! lolo na ako
