Actually I did take that that OT. Sayang kasi e. bihira kasi mag OT sa amin and I need the extra money. The OT was just a boring meeting with the VP of the company so it's not that much stress.

Speaking of PC fans, I think mine's failing occasionally. I keep hearing this beeping sound. I can't blame it to the CU overheating since it's goddamn cold right now (it reads 25.4 in my room right now) *brrrrr* so It's got to be the fan.

for one shots, have you read mizuki kawashita's one shots? you can find them at http://www.plumcity.org/. they're pretty short, but man, the art is SO gorgeous! she's got to be one of the best artists i have seen...............

Anyway, something's been bothering my conscience lately, and its the GIGS of illegally acquired intellectual property- Manga. -_- Gigs worth the authors' hard work, and I haven't paid for a single one. I'm a leecher, and I've created leechers.

Well, come to think of it naman kasi, if I just see these titles I've got on shelf, I'd definitely buy it. Pero wala kasi akong type sa mga nakikita ko rin sa Fully Booked or Powerbooks e. I swear if I ever see the titles I have in my PC for sale, bibilhin ko naman siguro. I'm willing to shell out money for something like that.

Kaya.. yun. Hirap naman kasi maghanap ng good titles here. Madalas pa, hindi volume 1 yung mga binebenta. pfft.

yung mga binebenta naman kase nila sa Powebooks at Fully Booked usually yung mga shojou at pang teens. Pero sa Fully booked sa nay SM North I think meron silang Battle Royale na manga. kase nagtanong ako dati ng Battle Royale na novel at tinanong ako kung anong volume (akala nila manga yung hinahanap ko).

yeah yeah seven samurai, the kurosawa epic from 1950s. so fcking amazing!!!!! i cant believe how great that movie was....

BTW, I've just read National Quiz from Mangascreener. It's one good read! All about politics, revolution and coup! Where else can you find a quiz contest which can win you your own country, the Eifell Tower or tons of money to live luxuriously for the rest of your life? IT'S ONLY ON THE NATIONAL QUIZ SHOW! Guess the effects are still rubbed in my mind.

Also, my friend jut read the Liar Game (just one chapter from onemanga) which is pretty interesting in it's unique way. You will be given 100 Million yen and you need to protect that from another who holds 100 Million Yen also. Anyone who gets the 100 million yen from the other wold win the 100 million yen but the losing side would be indebted to that same amount. It's one crazy gameshow after the other!

@yonie, I watched samurai seven, the anime version. ehehe.

speaking of anime, you guys familiar with Satoshi Kon's works? you know, Tokyo Godfathers, Paranoia Agent, and Paprika? I was so impressed with Tokyo Godfathers so I checked out the other two I mentioned. They're totally different so parang naguguluhan ako. Tokyo Godfathers aimed for realism while yung two others I watched were er... well kasi I think type talaga nya ang mga psychological stories tapos di ko gets yung mga story. Man.

Although, animation and art quality is really superb, I dunno.. Di ko kasi gets hahaha. So I was rather disappointed with Paprika, especially with all the build up na it's received nominations and stuff. yun lang. bothered lang ako dun.

paprika was a hit back in july, it showed on the new york filmfest i think. ya ya satoshi kon is those avant-garde experimental psychological types. but he's a giant in that field.

samurai seven, that's the anime adaptation. the real life samurai and farmers turned into steampunk. samurai seven is pretty good too, follows closely what the movie is, tho the movie should be watched before you die

it's okay to insult filipinos but this issue has raised doubts on the credibility of filipino professionals, dont you think? if it was a simple joke it would be okay, but this time people from other countries might begin to doubt filipino doctors and nurses and whatever. ("why did they joke about that? is that true?")
