i used their "azureus vuze". totally sucks. i'm running 2ghz northwood w/ 768mb ram w/ 40+gigs hd space, and total memory (physical+virtual) of 1,862 mb... and it's d*mn slow. plus adwares. plus it started dl-ing things just as i installed it.

are you sure your pc is secure? my virus sensors tripped when i opened it. i dl-ed the prog from their main site.

i'm currently using utorrent, which is coded in c++, not slowpoke and waste-of-space java. it's so small in using resources i've been playing star wars the sith lords at full settings and dl-ing from a browser while torrenting and there's still no slowdown...

yeah utorrent was made with custom libraries so it can execute itself as a stand-alone at a mere 200kb. that is a genius programming practice i believe. azureus is powerful too, but its java. needs to convert itself first. they're both powerful, but utorrent is lighter, more efficient, and definitely faster! azureus has well, its own tracker naman eh. pero utorrent is the better choice here for windows users

Oh well, hadn't enountered any issues yet with my Azureus so I'll keep on using it till the problems arise. That's what happened with BitComet. But maybe I'll try utorrent also since it's an executable program, no harm done in my PC right?

btw, BitComet recently acquired (or purchased) utorrent from its developer... releasing bitcomet 7.0 (which is really utorrent in a new brand)...

no, that's BitTorrent, not comet. the official bittorrent client made by the creator bram cohen itself has made utorrent as its codebase. but the two are still separate applications, just that this means bram cohen officially supports utorrent as his torrent client. bitcomet on the other hand sucks, really sucks

got *officially* tired of getting stuck at n,000 grains of rise (where n = no. of tries / (frustration level * hours)) so yeah, we tried it.

edit: you guys know tuneup utilities? it's great! optimized my wi-fi connection. download speeds went up by 10kbps, and internet explorer now loads like firefox!

of course i use firefox. my sis uses ie. then it was wham! straight in the face. she didn't know what happened. she's like "omfgwtfh what happened? did we switch to broadband?"

tweaking the canopy? if it as much as sways in the air i get 1 kbps - 40 kbps dl speed...

the smartbro people gave us their toolkits. they call it "quickfix v2.0" which actually says there's something wrong with the antenna everytime we run a diagnostics. and the solution it gives is call the customer service hotline, report error 2a. so far, call center agents have told us to disregard the message. ILLITERATE PHOOLS!!! ehem.

and i can't try and hack into the server and configure my address as static (we're all dynamic), too much is at stake.

haha man i guess everybody who subscribes to broadband has their gripes eh?? me too, im gonna have to call them tomorrow, my router they gave me is so old and defective, its old and defective.

@bb: im studying now! but i waste around 6 hours a day playing counterstrike on pldtplay... oh shit you just reminded me i have to submit chapters 1-3 on friday.... and man in my group, im the decision-maker, the thinker, the planner, the writer and the editor... i only use them as resources.

if i want to download i get good uploads bad downloads. if i want to upload (play online) i get good downloads and bad uploads. WTF! plus this speed you see now is bad for torrents. im tired of refreshing my router, i never actually imagined i'd be seeking the IP with the bad download just to play CS

of course everyone have gripes about their broadband connection. lam mo naman d2 sa pinas, business first. quality last. io-overcharge ka nila sa serbisyong palpak. pwehhh!!!

and i think it is kilobits/second. not sure though...kilobits/sec for isp promotional use, kilobytes/sec for internet applications.
