double arts isn't in danger. the training arc wasn't popular at all but they're out of it, plus the publishers are promoting DA pretty strongly so it's a "favored" series--seems like it will take a lot to get cut.

Back on topic, we won't be seeing the ratings reflecting the action chapters of late until maybe two weeks

Actually, this week is DA's last week. Psyren lives to see another day. But more bad news. Psyren is 3rd from the bottom this week. When will the madness cease!?

Come one guys let's not discuss the double arts issue over here. We have a ToC thread for that in otaku café section

and let's also end guessing on wether psyren will get cancelled too. Nothing official yet, so let's enjoy it being in jump. Let's be all optimistic about psyren. It's still on and I really do believe with current story elements etc there's a lot of potential in this manga

Psyren might be a generic shounen but what a great characters, story.
And I must say Toshiaki's art is something what I really like a lot, imo he has great art skills. Sadly few peoples don't pay attention to it

My thoughts will be that it is Bari Haken that will be next. It just isn't doing so well. Psyren isn't doing as bad as it. If not, it could be Neuro.

Dont u guys think Psyren is VERY SIMILAR to GANTZ....i mean there are soo many things in common:
*Forced to fight strange creatures
*Given cool powers and weapons
*Generally the same concept

Psyren is basically Gantz lite. Or think of it in this way. Gantz is to Seinin as Psyren is to shonen. =P

Well what Gantz and Psyren have in common are that the protagonists get taken to new and dangerous areas at any given moment, but aside from that. Gantz has guns, weapons, countless gruesome deaths, bosses need to be killed to clear the round, vampires, complex alliances, and to top it all off I know even less about Gantz than I do about Psyren. I still have no idea who the main villain is or anything, it's only with the latest chapter do I feel like Gantz is finally leading up to something, but Psyren's been doing that for a while now. I'm not bashing either, just that it really feels like the similarities between the two mangas are minor.

I don't think he is speeding anything along at all. Dholoki has been foreshadowed to make an appearance for some time now. I don't think it was sped up at all. He spent a lot of time just doing plot development.

the speeding is noticeable, the conversations between them have been reduced and what they understand about each other is also less, character development is slowing down, one of them is definately going to die off to allow for more interaction between the others

do we have to endure a dumbed-down psyren just so it can reach event horizon and become a permanent jump series?

What I'm currently wondering is if it's even in much trouble. With ES21 ending soon (from what I can tell) Haken almost perpetually at the bottom of the TOC, HxH on a hiatus, D.Gray Man taking almost every fourth week of the month off, a slew of new series being debuted so as to give an unrealistic ranking in the TOC. Psyren might be a popular series, sure it places below One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Eyeshield 21, Reborn, D.Gray Man, Gintama and To Love Ru but those are all really popular series. I mean the last volume sales of Psyren certainly implied it was popular enough.
