GIl and Hauser are very different from Gowther and King though, PL are not everything because of different factors, Gil is stronger than Hauser, not only is his PL higher, there's also their respective Magics are straightforward, they have elemental abilities, electricity and wind, comparing the Sins is very different with the abilities they have, their races and fighting styles.

Gowther doesn't have king or ban's speed as far as we know. Even ban had trouble dodging the multiple chastefiol attacks when he and king sparred. As for petrification, it isn't instant but I gave it as an example of how King can incapacitate Gowther (assuming he couldn't be killed). Actually Ban didn't really let it hit him, he just didn't resist much and once he started getting petrified, I'm quite sure he couldn't have done anything. Gowther's best option would be to break or cut off the petrified part before it spreads too much. Anyway, the battle will obviously be tough, that much is certain.
Just like King was keeping up with Mel and Ban in the forest, Gowther was doing the same during the Kingdom Infiltration arc. I know Ban didn't let King hit him, but he didn't remove the spear, he was standing before him and grinning, it would have stopped if he had removed it.

All those abilities have a huge downside though. The memory thing can easily be undone. Nightmare teller requires close proximity to the enemy, which I dont see happenning with King. The mind control thing shouldn't be that effective either since Gowther only used it once on a weaker and relatively stupid enemy. And King should have multiple ways to kill Gowther by hitting his weak spot. We don't know how the hijacked attacks work, but my guess is, it only works if the attack involves artificial intelligience, like the golems.
Easily undone if they notice it but it still works, he has been able to completely erase Guila's memories, what he did against the HK was something superficial. Nothing says that NT requires close proximity, just like King Gowther is mainly a long range fighter, I don't see why he would not be able to use it with his Herrit, Gowther used Invasion on King and Dine at Edinburgh and both Meliodas and Ban asked him to never use Rewrite Light on them, he has also been able to read Diane, King and Ban' s memories instantly, it has not been called the most dangerous ability among the Sins by Dreyfus for naught, there's no reason Jack would not work on King, we don't know well how Hijack works so I won't talk about it.

What is Gowther's weak spot?

Well its a difference of 150, which is thrice that of the diff between Gil and hauser, these are sins we are talking about so not much there anyway.
As for broadcast, it's not like the people were trying to avoid his arrows so it's a pretty different case. For example, Merlin can teleport Galan if he doesn't try to dodge (if they were on the same side for instance) but can't do so if he decides to dodge. That's a pretty extreme example but you get the point.
Human Diane did dodge his arrows after all.

About Merlin tricking Galan, why would she be able to do so? She can only play with words but she doesn't have any special magic related tricks as far as we know. It Galan didn't know she was there, I'm sure she would have been able to teleport him. Galan was not aware Gowther was there, it was something he could not account for so the circumstances are very different. Gowther's arrows cannot move faster than Merlin can teleport, if Galan had known gowther was there, the arrows would have never hit him.

I already mentioned stats aren't everything hence why I said king is likely superior on paper. I also feel he is superior in battle but that is debatable ofcourse.

I was giving an example about how abilities could work better in some cases rather than just power levels. Gowther's ability was the ideal solution in this situation given that he can't lie to Galan's face, however he can warp reality/create illusions which demons aren't immune to. So no other sin could have managed to trick Galan, not even Merlin who's specialty is demon magic, and on paper she's stronger than Gowther. Also Gowther didn't lose to Diane, it seems they stopped fighting for some reason, and it is speculated that he might have messed with her memory, even though she's stronger on paper.

Nope the memory thing cannot be undone easily, it was undone by Gowther himself. If he had refused all Guila's and Zeal memories would be lost. Maybe Purge could have some effect, but seeing how Merlin specializes in demon magic she doesn't have access to druid magic.Actually I feel Gowther hasn't shown everything that he can do, and it's possible he wiped Diane's memories of King.

Considering that lightning and wind are natural phenomenons that could be encountered together, I don't think there is much of a difference. A tornado can be more destructive actually than a bolt of lightning. The difference in their PL is pretty insignificant.
Now that I think about it Gil and Howzer are prolly based on Raijin and Fujin, the gods of lightning and wind respectively in the Japanese folkore and they're usually encountered together :D

NT requires Gowther to put his hands on your head. And while it is true that his ability can be considered the most dangerous, that doesn't mean he is that powerful. Guila was laying on the ground unconscious, that way Gowther had plenty of time to rewrite her memory. It's been heavily implied that his weakspot is in his chest are, but not where he got hit by Dreyfus. Also, while fighting, Gowther pointed out that in a battle under equal circumstances, Diane would have an advantage over him.

Not necessarily, you are only saying this because it's the only time he used it was at close range since Dreyfus wanted to finish him quickly, there is no reason to think that someone who mainly fights at long range with a magic bow can't use it at long range, Gowther is extremely powerful because he is a Sin. Rewrite Light works instantly and he has been able to read Meliodas, Ban, King, Diane and Slader's memories instantly with Invasion. Where has it been implied that his weak spot is his chest? And if you say implied it means there's no concrete proof, he has been pierced in the chest, beheaded and got his neck broken and he was fine. He was talking about Diane's physical strength, the fight was skipped, we don't even know what Gowther did to her exactly and there's no way a Sin without an ST could win against one with his ST anyway, Diane is also very different from King.

I've already acknowledged and mentioned both counts.

Just like King was keeping up with Mel and Ban in the forest, Gowther was doing the same during the Kingdom Infiltration arc. I know Ban didn't let King hit him, but he didn't remove the spear, he was standing before him and grinning, it would have stopped if he had removed it.
Not really, gowther was behind after all. Also, king will be flying and thus have easier maneuverability than gowther on ground. As far as we know, king is among the fastest sins alongside Ban and Mel. Gowther is fast ofcourse, but not as fast as king, especially if he is going at top speed.

I don't see how Ban could have removed the spear. It started petrifying him from where the spear stabbed so that part had already become solid stone. Obviously ban is immortal so he can break that part off and simply regenerate but gowther is different. A broken part will not regenerate.

I was giving an example about how abilities could work better in some cases rather than just power levels. Gowther's ability was the ideal solution in this situation given that he can't lie to Galan's face, however he can warp reality/create illusions which demons aren't immune to. Well that's what I'm saying, that is something only gowther can do, however, the element of surprise is what helped him here. If they were face to face, Galan will dodge the arrow anyway. If Merlin had a similar chance, she could have teleported Galan away.
Also, it's unfair to compare a special ability to merely playing with words. Merlin obviously cannot lie to Galan, but neither can Gowther. Changing his memories wouldn't prevent gowther from turning into stone if he lies. The ability is quite, the power depends on the opponent not galan. Galan himself obviously has no way to know if the opponent is lying, therefore, the ability depends on the other person. This simply means that changing Galan's memories wouldn't affect his ability working basically. If we are talking about gowther being able to get rid of Galan by deceiving him to think the sins died, then Merlin can simply get rid of him by teleporting him or themselves away as well (if she had the element of surprise).

Behind? I am pretty sure that overall Ban is the fastest Sin but it's not the same for the others, being the fastest is not what matters, it's being able to keep up which is important. You can't say that King is faster than Mel or Gowther, just like I did here, the comparisons:

Gowther is not always behind, at times Ban is ahead of him, at times he is ahead of Ban. All the Sins should be able to keep up with that level of speed excepted maybe Diane and Escanor who are heavyweights but they will certainly be able to deal with an opponent that fast in battle.

Why would a broken part no regenerate? Ban regenerates all the time, of course he would be powerless if his whole body is petrified but if it's only a limb there's no problem.

Fossilization affected him here

You can clearly see that his hands are not petrified, in the next chapter, time passed and he did nothing at all, he could have tried to remove the spear immediately if he wanted to. Gowther is different from Ban, he would not be able to regenerate but Fossilization is nothing but a single spear attack, what could King do against Jack? NT? Rewrite Light? etc He would use Increase to deflect and his speed to dodge but it's the same for Gowther, Gowther has more chances to win this fight.

Perhaps but the point is that being in the air, king has more chances of dodging gowther's arrows using both speed and chastefiol. Even ban couldn't completely dodge increase. I don't see gowther doing so. King has speed and other options to block while gowther can only dodge and he is on the ground to top it off.

Fossilization is the petrfication. Getting pierced begins the process. As you can see in the scan you provided, the pierced part has already been petrified so pulling out the spear like that will cause that place to break off. Also can't forget that the spear is behind and it's difficult to pull out something from there; especially one as long as a spear. I didn't say Ban wouldn't regenerate, I said gowther wouldn't.

Basically, the spear hits gowther and starts petrifying him, let's say he manages to remove it, he would have a hole in his chest and also, king can simply follow up attacks like increase or he can use Guardian to hold him down. King has ways to incapacitate gowther but how will gowther defeat king? King survived hits from Albion and I'm sure gowther doesn't hit harder than albion.

The Sins are not stuck to the ground, they can jump and dodge on the ground, King is always levitating, just like I said that King can deflect Gowther's arrows with increase, Gowther can do the same, he is not limited to dodging, he can deflect attacks. Gowther has also shown that he can fly during the short fight against Diane.

With his Invasion magic which targets the mind and the Spirit? He took Albion's hits and he is the less durable, it means Gowther could do the same, there's no way he can take Gowther's physical attacks and feel nothing at all. Just as you said that King can follow up with other attacks, Gowther could simply behead him once he is caught in a illusion.

Nah, gowther can't fly. How will gowther deflect attacks? He can't use his hands to deflect chastefiol.

I didn't say he won't feel anything, just that King is durable enough to take physical attacks as well. True I forgot about him beheading the armor giant demon. Anyway, king has more options in this battle with the numerous forms of chastefiol which double as both attack and defence while gowther would have to keep trying to get him with his arrows. Flying gives more way to maneuver than running or being on the ground does and like I said, Ban couldn't fully dodge increase and guardian is powerful enough to hold gowther down.

I was talking about Invasion arrows here, comparing them to King's Increase. Pretty sure he was flying against human-sized Diane, or maybe I should say levitating.

I don't see how he has more options, you only said that he could have a chance to win by using Fossilization and follow up with others, and that's not even sure because it depends on where he hit him and Gowther's reaction, who can easily use his abilities with his fingers, Fossilization is also a single spear attack so it's easier to dodge. All Gowther has to do is to hit him with once of the numerous attacks I talked about. Ban could not dodge everything but it's a Ban who was standing still waiting for the daggers to come to him and was not attacking, it's not like a few daggers could be troublesome for Gowther anyway.

There is plenty of evidence that King is more powerful than Gowther just by sheer magical might. But Gowther as we know does not need a stronger magical muscle to defeat his opponents. However that can be said for him vs Mel or Escanor as well, which is why I'm not understanding the argument with Gowther vs King here. As far as arguing over a power ranking position goes, its an overall poor argument to make. As we've seen Gowther relies on infiltration tactics and elements of surprise. He seems to have put the ruse on Galan and he took down Dreyfus. Galan wasn't aware of him at all and Dreyfus did not know the mechanism behind Nightmare Terror in that it looked like Gowther needed to touch him to implement it. Those are some considerable feats. However there was the time Gowther got decapitated by Hendy's blast and mentioned him being in danger if Diane was at full size when he fought her. Clearly power level is not a determining factor in whether Gowther wins or not. As I mentioned earlier, Gowther is too much of a wildcard to place confidently on a general ranking scale. In some circumstances, I see him losing to Diane. In others, defeating Meliodas. I tend to place him below King however, because I doubt he could counter all of the spear's forms we've seen so far if he didn't manage to mentally infiltrate and incapacitate King first.

It's not like he only uses elements of surprise, he would not win against Galan anyway but the fight against Dreyfus was fair, Dreyfus even knew of his ability and he said it, Dreyfus lost and woke up only because of Fraudrin who is likely at the level of the Commandments, even with that he was not perfectly fine. He has been decapitated by Gray Demon Hendrickson who overpowered the other Sins too, he had no problems with the rejuvenated one but he didn't attack him, Invasion is broken and you will notice that Nakaba didn't make Gowther touch him once, in the end he was mostly used for support, he didn't even attack Meliodas for his Revenge Counter for understandable reasons.

The only form which could incapacitate Gowther for good would be Fossilization and it takes time, both are fast enough to dodge attacks but compared to Gowther who can do a lot with a single arrow, Increase lacks power, Sunflower is powerful but it would not stop him and it's a beam, Guardian is a big bear. For someone who can shot rain of arrows like him I don't see how King has the advantage. King is probably the N.2 in terms of Magic among the Sins but it would not be the only factor here.

If you look at the nnt callender, you will see Gowther has a mark on his chest. That is probably where his real body is. And Pelio once found him wounded in that area, so he probably wouldn't survive getting pierced in that spot. And if Gowther could use NT from a distance he already would have done so. Plus, Guardian could easily keep Gowther from doing anything, as he needs to point at his enemies. Another way I could see him die is by Gowther using an incredibly powerful magic attack, as he is only alive because of magic, and it could destroy his soul. But another thing I need to say is, if I'm right, then Gowther could change his armor and become way stronger. But King could counter Gowthers arrows with increase. Gowther could probably be considered more dangerous against single enemies, but King has the upper hand in general.

Yes Dreyfus knew of his ability and the huge threat it was, but there is no indication he knew of the exact mechanism behind it. He went all in for a sword jab before Gowther could do anything (probably assuming his ability took prep like casting a spell). If he knew all Gowther needed to do was touch him, then he would have used his long distance shot like he did on Diane.

Who said King would need to incapacitate Gowther for good? All King needs to do is keep chopping him up to prevent Gowther from using infiltration arrows properly. And Gowther's mind attacks probably wouldn't incapacitate King for good either, just give him time to go for a physical attack. If King gets hit by even one of those arrows he probably loses but so far we have no indication whether he can block or dodge them if he is looking out for them. So those are hypothetical scenarios until we get more info about their skills or an actual fight between them.

Rather than a Gowther VS King debate it feels more like a "How could King incapacitate Gowther" debate.

Gowther could probably be considered more dangerous against single enemies, but King has the upper hand in general.
You are saying probably, there is no evidence that it's his weak spot and King would certainly not know this, there'll be more infos on him as the story goes on but as of now he has no weak spot. Your claim that NT would have been used at long range already if he could do it is baseless, he is a long range fighter, his ST is a bow and the one who got close to him when he was going to attack was Dreyfus, had he not done this, we would have probably seen him use it at long range. Guardian is good but it's something used for protection and when he is using it offensively it's a close range ability, better suited against physical attacks, if he manages to capture Gowther he'd have to break his arms, Gowther can use Invasion with his fingertips and makes appear his ST out of nowhere, Hijack would probably work on this too. King using Increase to
deflect and his speed to dodge is the best way he has to deal with his arrows but as I said, Invasion arrows are much more dangerous than his daggers.

Why would Dreyfus need to know everything about his abilities anyway? It was a serious battle, is it necessary to know the abilities of your opponent when you are fighting him? There were training sessions back then, Dreyfus knows how Invasion works and tried to beat him but he was weaker than him, simple as that. He came back and momentarily stopped him because of Fraudrin. Even though he managed to block and injure Diane, it has been made pretty clear that Dreyfus is not at the level of the Sins, Gowther stopped him with ease, King could have killed him despite a surprise attack, he lost to Young Hendrickson, the same Hendrickson who was used as a punching bag by every Sins in Chapter 92, Gowther is the only one who didn't attack him(even though he could have done so) but he shown that he was clearly superior. Dreyfus would have lost easily regardless of his range, close range was his best chance against Gowther. He was at close range against Diane, he stopped Ground Gladius and used a Break beam to injure her.

Easier said than done, would Gowther stand still and let King slicing his body like that? Not only he can dodge, but he can take an attack, tank it without problems with his Doll body and retaliate, just like against Dreyfus.

How is King resisting Nightmare Teller? It's eternal once you are hit, again, Dreyfus woke up because of Fraudrin and had mental damages after this, he would probably live an horrible nightmare with Diane and his clan included worse than his bullying when he came back with Ban. He has been affected by Invasion at Edinburgh and noticed nothing even though Gowther was standing before him, even if he is affected by RW for like, 30 seconds it's more than enough to chop his head, with Jack he can control his body.

Rather than a Gowther VS King debate it feels more like a "How could King incapacitate Gowther" debate.

Gowther would have probably used NT on Hendricksen and even Diane if it was long range. And there is a way to make Gowther useless very easily: breaking his glasses. He can barely see without them, and King knows it. Plus, there probably are ways to overcome attacks like NT. And hijack. They probably work more on enemies with weak wills or minds. After all, most of Gowther's enemies so far weren't the smartest. And King has mind-powers of his own, so he could probably resist most of Gowther's abilities to a degree.

Gowther tried to attack Henrickson only once, he was attempting to use Rewrite Light and got beheaded, and here, Hendrickson was letting everyone hit him, everyone but Gowther. Removing his glasses is an idea but it would mean constantly aiming for his head. He was not attempting to kill Diane or something, all he wanted was to stop her from calling Meliodas and merlin, it was not a fight to death, he even used Blackout so that civilians would not be involved, we know he used Invasion on her, but we don't know the technique he used.

"Probably" you say, it's possible to overcome Rewrite Light but Nightmare Teller is eternal, and it's his strongest attack so far, he still has plenty of time to kill you anyway, get out(Dreyfus succeeded only because he has two minds) and you have mental damages. Only Blackout has been described as an ability knocking out people with a certain level of Spirit, King, Diane and more importantly Galan have been affected by it, Mel and Ban asked him to never use it on them, Search Light which is simple memory reading worked on Meliodas, Ban, King and Diane, Gowther himself is not a mere illusionist, he is one of the Sins, resisting his illusions is not that simple. No one resisted to Invasion so far, they either dodge or block it.

NT has only been used once, we don't know if it has any weaknesses or not, but I can definitely see it happening. And hitting Gowther in the face should not be too hard for someone like King. And search light cannot read your entire memory at once, just small glimpses. And King has never EVER been affected by rewrite light so far. Galan is appearantly not that bright either, so its no surprise he got affected.

King has never been affected by Rewrite Light but that's not important, there's no reason it would not work on him, absolutely no reason. Galan has not been dumb at all, he was calm under the attacks of Mel clones and was able to predict his movements, his Magic was 0 so it means that 28000 was spread between Strength and Spirit only. It has never been said that Invasion doesn't work on smart people, Gowther himself is one of the smartest Sin.

I never said rewrite light wouldn't work on King. But he is more likely to recover from it than most other characters, and that he might be able to break out of abilities like NT. And Mel was using a pretty predictable tactics. You don't need to be a genius to figure them out.
