I think Meliodas should be able to carry it now given how he beat Galan with raw strength and that he was hiding his strength back then( 3370 so with his Strength at 960), Rhitta can't possibly be heavier than Gideon so Diane should be able to carry it without problems.

Escanor with his build probably a fighter like Diane, a tank, but with more Magic than Strength, almost all the Sins are speedsters. From what he shown so far his Sunshine could easily be Full Countered/dispelled.
That is why i was asking, because Meliodas stated it was heavy and he was dragging it on the ground, i'm sure Diane could pick it up, but then again weak Escanor could not... so i guess the "only Escanor can wield" is wrong. I would really like to see if Diane is strong enough to pick it up (i'm sure she is), but that also means that Escanor's strength is higher than 1000 in total to be able to swing it like a stick. This kind of makes me think that the midway Escanor is the one that everyone is most aware of... or the weak one and is compared to the others. Which makes his strength lower than Diane's according to Guila... but then again they could have been referring to weak Escanor too. I suppose if Diane could use Rhitta, Escanor could use Chastifol and Gideon as well... considering they probably weight less than Rhitta. I think it was stated that Gideon weighs 2 tons... so Rhitta probably weighs a lot to keep Escanor from using his speed to fight. His armor looks like it does too (i know i already said this before)

It could be dispelled/blocked, but i wonder if full counter would work on it...
If it was countered i doubt Escanor would be injured by his own type of magic considering that he can stand in the same room as the Vampire king and not get burned up and then be the center of an explosion, either Escanor's magic does not affect him or he has control over it to the extent where it won't hurt him.
But, i must admit getting full countered by Meliodas (if he does get hurt by sunshine) would be incredibly problematic for Escanor.

I think Escanor may be the only sin capable of being both types of fighter... his form at the end of the second chapter showed he could be fast (even weak him was fast) and then he showed us he could tank hits. So he might be able to do either of them, depending on the person he fights. I suppose he just chose to disgrace the vampire king by making no effort to defeat him and still being able to do so.

Was he hiding his strength? We know there are things that can reveal your strength, decrease it or increase it however the manga has yet to make a point that powers can be hidden. Take the eye of balor. It is able to read power levels at any time and so far it does not seem to account for people hiding their power. It took most of the sin's PL in a rather casual context, only mel was fighting and even then it was against someone whom he could easily defeat.

With that in mind, it is really weird that mel had trouble with the ax... Because at that point it kinda seemed like mel had the same power as he has right now and it was enough to beat up galan. Basically the strength that punched galan into submission was not enough to move around rhitta. Gideon weights a solid ton, even that should be something meliodas can lift with relative ease. Back in the day good old mel was able to even carry diane with relative ease and diane looks like she probably weights several tons (he did say she was heavy but he didn't appear to be making such a big effort). If anything gidion weighting a mere ton is weird, a hammer as tall as a building should weight a lot more than that (say, about as much as a building...). Perhaps gideon is hollow? And the implication here is that rhita is not only heavier than gideon, but also significantly more so.

Mell is lazy a bit :D It was some kind of joke. Escanor was too weak to hold his weapon but Mel was too lazy to hold it all the time for him. It was supposed to be funny situation :D

Now you're just being stubborn. Stop overhyping Mel.

So reread it again. In onepiece, bleach and so on are also that kind of jokes and almost all the time.
I dont have to overhype Mel because this way or another he will be the strongest.

It depends on how heavy the materials are too, I can't imagine Rhitta heavier than Gideon(the hole Gideon left was big), it's not like Meliodas had ever tried to lift it too, Gideon is probably heavier than Diane. Meliodas can raise his PL by using his Demon powers and he was using his true strength back then otherwise he would have beaten the Vampires even more easily so I am assuming he was keeping his PL at 3370, with his strength at 960 which is not enough to carry Rhitta, it's certain that Meliodas in Chapter 135 could do so, Diane has 1870 in Strength and uses Gideon with ease so probably a Strength of 1200 or more is enough for Rhitta.

I don't think its necessarily the case that mel will end up simply being the strongest around. To be fair, for most of the manga mel has been far from the strongest around. And the other sins presumably have a lot of catching up to do considering they also have to face the sins. Escanor for whatever reason had greater PL than mel back in edinburg and it was just this chapter that escanor would even be the strongest among the current sins. Before that he lagged, pretty significantly, behind king and merlin, at least at his base form. And king could even surpass mel's power of darkness when he used the true form of chastiefol thingy. Not to mention that estarosa and zeldris could have power comparable to mel or more once they recover... I don't think this manga will be as simple as kongo bansho in that regard.

I agree that he is most likely gonna be the strongest by the end of the manga(the ones with potential to match him are fe, Like King and Escanor) unless Arthur surpasses him, like Nakaba hinted at. But until then, I don't think Mel will be able to handle all his enemies as easily as you think. Zeldris, Estarossa and probably the demon king will likely give him a hard time.

The manga has made the point that gideon weights precisely 2200 pounds, which is just short of a ton. As for diane, she is 30 feet tall, about 9 meters... And probably has some muscle to her. From what I understand the principle that applies here would be the square cubed law. Assuming diane has, say, ronda rhosi's proportions (and no, I didn't know about her until her fight this weekend), her situation is quite dire weight wise. Going by their heights diane would be about 5.7 times taller than ronda. 5.7^3 would make diane's volume 180 times that of ronda. Starting with Ronda's 66 kgs, and according to google a person's density is 1020 kg/m^3, what we have is that ronda's starting volume is 0.065 m^3. Times 180 which is 11.64m^3. Which converted to weight makes diane weight about 11 tons. Its not a simple matter of diane being 6 times taller than a normal person thus her weight is only 6 times that of a normal person.

Hopefully that calculation is correct because I am at about my limit of how much of a nerd I can be in one day.

Anyways, appearance wise meliodas did not seem to have that much trouble lifting diane though he did say she was heavy. Now, he did seem to have trouble lifting rhitta. Adding to that, I don't see any reason to think, as of right now anyways, that the 3370 was the amount of power meliodas was working with at that moment. Logically speaking his power should have been what he had now, at least considering what we currently know.

Finally catching up at last to this great manga.

Anyway, WRATH is the most devastating SIN. The rest follow behind it.

Personally, I like Greed as he's able to quickly steal the fortune others had accumulated over the years & take his time gaining further wealth & power due to immortality. The character is also a Joker lol

Gluttony with the teleport magic sinks of haxxx (somehow her powers sinks of shenanigans to me due to how convinent it is lol). Conventionally combatting her is almost an insurmountable task.

Sloth is pretty dangerous when he actually wants to try. Petrification is quiet scary.

Envy is sorta lacking in my view. Only because I was never really a fan of just pure physical might alone. Though coupled with her bag of little tricks & the fact that she can do physical strength unlike any other, I say she's very great.

Anyway, all the SINs are great. WRATH is the greatest amongst them.

I was waiting for somebody to do the math for Diane's weight considering it has been reference quite a fair bit in the manga XD
And i agree with you, If meliodas can lift Diane with 3370 and be unable to drag Rhitta that says a lot about Rhitta's weight. I also believe you are correct in assuming that Meliodas did not simply have 3370 at that time... however he did struggle slightly against the vampire girl and considering the other sins were unaware of his true power he might have found a way to restrain it.
The only problem i see is that current Meliodas should be the same as Edinburgh Meliodas except he can control his wrath... which should make his strength insane.
I do wonder of that is supposed to be another hint to how strong Escanor actually is... or perhaps Meliodas being unable to control his demonic powers was the result of him getting weaker?

I think that Meliodas had to have been much stronger simply because of the size difference on the holes he made in chapters 121 and 119.1. At Edinburgh the size of the hole is huge, although that was probably barely any of his magical power... I'm really interested in this now, i wonder if that will be a plot point or he was in fact that strong and that is how he was able to do so much damage.

i think it was in the Ban flashback with Meliodas... Mel took barely no damage from Ban and sort of destroyed him, so i assume that his power was at max. I also assume he could have used the power he currently has, but, perhaps was
concentrating on being weaker?

Ps: i really want to know if you got the math right for this, because if that is the case we just find out her little secret xD

I am not sure he struggled against the vampire girl. He is the type to hold back after all. Perhaps the author did it that way so as to not outright show how insane mel's strength really is. Even back at danafor the point was made that mel did not even want to use a sword at all. Though with his base strength being this much he wouldn't have need one at all. The worst case scenario was facing a GHK at the time and with his base strength he could probably handle 10 of those while blindfolded. Assuming the proportion of strength between mel and guila when guila was able to give unarmed mel trouble remains relevant, it would take a knight with about a third or a fourth of mel's current power to give him trouble while unarmed. But in context that would be a PL upward of several thousand Ks. So realistically speaking back in danafor meliodas didn't need a weapon to go around.

At edinburg we can assume he held back significantly though. There would have to be something specific to weaken him that much if that was his true power. I guess its plausible merlin had been taking his power for a while until she finally took most of it at the time of betrayal.

Well whatever Rhitta's weight is, Escanor at the crack of dawn could causally lift it. To the current Mel, Rhitta should be about as heavy as a toothpick.
I've always wondered about Mel's PL and his relation with the sins. I could understand them becoming comfortable and not afraid of him in time but logically speaking, a stranger with a colossal amount of power walking up to you should have one pissing his pants or so. Take Diane's meeting for example. She was being harassed by humans when Mel came across her and even though he was one (to her at least), she didn't notice his PL at all. Perhaps the sins were just too weak at inception to actually notice his power. Gil, Hauser and Hendy didn't seem to notice Mel's change though King clearly did and the commandments instantly noticed it as well. On the other hand, it's possible Mel somehow restricted himself such that he only used about a tenth of his actual power. That would at least make sense. Perhaps there's a way of flexing your power or something? In numerous manga, we find that only suitably powerful individuals can feel the power of an immensely powerful person the instant he/she appears. The weaker ones don't usually feel it until the individual flexes his power.

As far as we know right now "current" mel was the one carrying rhita around in the past.

Anyways, the manga is not really consistent regarding how PL's are felt. I guess the scenario would perhaps be one where "feeling" power is independent of balor's power eye. So what the eye can see at any given point is actually different from what others can feel. So perhaps we can make the case that people can walk around emanating less power when they feel like it. But the eye can perhaps read the total amount of power regardless of the circumstances. And to that perhaps you have to add in how skilled someone is at feeling powers to begin with. Although PL's are weird to begin with in how it is measured. Strength would not be something which you are able to irradiate so as to be felt with others. Magic it but it alone is not enough to give a good reading of someones power. And spirit seems to be more of an abstract concept. Interesting the whole thing is set up so that the cumulative number is actually more useful than its broken down form when it comes to gauging someones power.

I'm curious as to whether someone will make the correlation between Meliodas before and now... it would be interesting to see it cleared up.
I'm assuming Merlin is the one who was going to do it as well.

Well that's what I'm saying. It clearly wasn't the 'current Mel'. The vampire King was the strongest there and his PL was about 5k. Mel just stomped Galan who has a PL of 26k in about 5 seconds. Majority of that time, he was fighting unarmed and he didn't even use his darkness power in anyway. Vastly different from what we saw at Edinburg. Also, like I said, Escanor was casually carrying Rhita when his PL was somewhere around 5K or so.

Well yeah, the balor eye seems to be able to accurately gauge the PL and components at any point in time but a feeling is probably less accurate than that. Still, Merlin managed to notice that something was off with Galan which indicates that one can sense magic power to an extent.

We really have no evidence that that wasn't current mel though. More so, he even used his power of darkness to a much greater effect than what he did against galan recently, the hole left there was quite large after all. Easily several times larger than the one left behind against galan.

Also, it was never actually said the vampire king was outright the strongest there. What was said was that he was the strongest enemy. Even looking at the chapter it does not seem like escanor was specifically sent to deal with the vampire king. Right before meeting him he was actually specifically worried about that happening. Under slightly different circumstances the vampire king could have run into just about anyone at that point. Though it wouldn't be weird if merlin placed mel and escanor so that they would be closest to the vampire king to deal with him.

Not to mention that mel didn't seem to have a speck of trouble fighting the two vampire women. He even defended from attacks from behind him with ease.

Its also very relative that 5k power was needed to lift rhita. What we saw was that escanor's power skyrocketed as the dawn advanced. He seemed stronger than the king from the moment he was able to lift the ax. However as far as PL goes his power could have been at any level. Maybe 2k strength is needed or maybe 6 k... with what the manga has shown its hard to tell.

To me, the fact that Meliodas' darkness attack that killed the vampiress Gelda was countless times bigger than what he could manage to bring forth against Garan in his weakened state is proof enough that back during the Vampires of Edinburgh mission he had access to his full power.

Besides that attack, he hasn't made any serious efforts to fight. To be honest, he probably was holding back most of it anyway, whether he had it or not.

^Yeah, Meliodas holding back is the only explanation that makes sense.

Yeah, even before Merlin took most of it away I can't image he was using more than what we've normally seen of him before then. King noticed that Meliodas power spiked before he killed Gelda; clearly he wasn't letting himself constantly be as strong as he was when he was fighting Galan.

On Escanor being stronger than Meliodas, he might be and he might not be, but I will say that saying that Escanor is going to be stronger because he hasn't shown up doesn't make much sense. You might as well say that all the other Sins are going to be stronger than him because they haven't gotten their power ups yet. I personally don't think Escanor is going to be stronger, but we will see. I do think that part of the reason Escanor counts Meliodas as one of his most respected people (along with Merlin) is because he was the only one that could get in line when he went out of control, but again, we'll see if there is any truth to that.

Edit: But there really is no questioning that Meliodas had all his power in Edinburgh, that was twelve years before the current story, two years prior to when Merlin took it away. Whether or not Merlin knew the full extent of Meliodas' power is another question.
