This seems to imply that you think Kaya should have complete and absolute trust in everything Shuujin does. Him functionally telling her to piss off and him leaving without saying anything is more than any reasonable person can ask of a significant other.

Her complaints would be very, very legitimate. I mean, how hard would it have been for him to tell her what he was planning. Even if you assume that he thought that telling her before Shiratori quit would have somehow spoiled the thing due to her reaction to Shiratori's request, he could and should have told her what he was doing after Shiratori left.
