Well, yeah. Apologetics aren't meant to turn non-believers into believers. It's meant to defend the faith of people that already believe, and so it's not above arguing in bad faith or attempting to shift the burden of proof.

Don't get me started on Presuppositionalism or T.A.G.

I mean, I absolutely have no problem with believing in souls or being spiritual or thinking there is some one being and whatnot. There are good arguments that can be made for that.

But the second someone specifies the nature of god and gives him some rules and attributes, that is hard to defend intellectually. Especially if you make horrible arguments like the watchmaker.

Not even hating on normal religious people, but the debate bros are just intellectually lazy.

I respectfully disagree. But then again, my definition of "good arguments" would be something that counts as sufficient enough to convince me of a proposition. And if I thought any of these stances had good arguments I'd believe them.

I don't believe in a soul. I don't believe in anything supernatural. I don't place value in spiritual teachings or the concept of the spirituality at that.

Dan Brown's Origin's characters in the novel heavily assumed something like this, too, to no avail at the end.

Haven't watched the film but a lot of peeps/ talking heads in the ufo community i watch were happy with the film.

Said Spielberg covered ton of things in the movie that people who've been abducted or had strange things related to ufo experienced.

I recognize Dan Brown's name from Da Vinci Code.

But unfamiliar with his work aside from the soundtrack:

Dan Brown has a lot of Robert Langdon books where you can individually read them (Da Vinci Code and Origin are within it). Basically, stuff happens and Prof. Langdon resolves the mystery. There are also some other books of him like Digital Fortress, even more awesome imo. Seemingly, he likes to point at religious stuff in other perspectives, but "Origin" has a lot of high tech and AI in it too, makes it even more relevant now as he intermingled those things.
