Forgot to answer this. I am aware of the anime because of the screenshots I often see on randomc. It looks nice but it doesn't trigger an appeal. It looks like it has too much characters imo. Is there a real main character?

Nope you are totally correct. It has way too many characters. But that means way too many mechas . Though it does have a main character and one who supports him. First few episodes were little too cliche but the plot has become better with each episode. You can put in your list and watch it if you don't have anything else to watch.
