Let's discuss another rumor:

General: Furuhashi intended to end the 1999 series with Kurapika killing himself to atone for his "crime" of revenge against the Phantom Troupe but Togashi did not approve it. And there are some storyboard sheets for the scene.

I say Unsubstantiated for his illness, but True for his laziness.

If that's how the series was going to end, then it would probably be one weird show. I mean it looks like Gon finally meeting Ging was kind of an afterthought. And I'm not even going to mention all the loose ends...

Characters: Mito is Gon's biological aunt from his mother's side.

Status: False

Explanation:

In Nippon's adaptation of the series, we know that Mito is Gon's mother's sister who got married to Ging and died due to illness. That's not how it was in the manga.

In the manga, Ging was the son of Grandma's first son, and Mito is the daughter of the second son, so that makes her Ging's cousin and his wife's sister.
