Well in Haven they have easier task tbh because Leo is working for them...

- He scatters the Haven defence all around the country ( well the council did this not Leo but it's still serves them right )
- He send Pro Hunstmans into traps and they were killed off either by Grimms or WF ( Or brainwash as you said tbh it would be really nice to see )
- They attack before the school will start again so there not students there also to defend the city
- Teachers are also not near Academy as far as we know..

I'm pretty sure Grimms will find the way into a city let's not forget that Salem can command them directly + if the WF will attack it will really create a massive negative emotions magnet for Grimms.

While in Beacon we have all Hunstman present + Army of Vale/Atlas + Hunstman from other schools because of Festival + Ozpin was in charge << So, of course, it took much more planning to attack

Unlike Beacon Haven seems pretty much defenceless the only factors that Salem group isn't aware of are :

- Ozpin
- Blake and Menagerie

And maybe Sun Team, Yang and Weiss

True, the leo bit should make it smoother in many regards. We already saw what their computer viruses can do, with leo giving them unrestricted access to everything things should be much easier.

Sure, she does command them but that doesn't mean the natural barriers are going to be null just because of that. There has to be some elaborate scheme to actually get the grimm in there. I guess the easy answer would be an army of nevermores and griffins but then, where is the fun in the obvious?

I know but... The theme here I would argue is turning humanity's hope against it. To just destroy an evidently defenseless places just because is not how the bad guys role. They target hope with the specific intention of breaking up humanity. That is the reason they ultimately took advantage of the drone army and turned it on the populace. To show them nothing can be trusted, that their faith is at best misplaced... I guess it is possible they simply are going all "fuck it" during the haven invasion and just destroy stuff since they already delivered their message at beacon but that still seems somewhat lackluster.

That episode..... I only have three words to sum it up:

Seriously, that was fucking awesome. Volume 5 continues to prove why it's probably going to be better than Volume 3 to me. That trap laid by Adam, Cinder and Raven was AMAZING.
@Vici Forget I said anything about Raven secretly planning on backstabbing Cinder. This woman is a self serving villain through and through We are at the point of no return with Raven, at this point in the story I'm expecting her to die in the end and not get a redemption at all. At best she dies protecting Yang, but she's going to end up being killed by Salem at this rate.
That cliffhanger though Ok, its obvious Weiss isn't going to die here I fully expect this is the point where Jaune's Semblance awakens, probably going to be a heal type like Elizabeth's magic in Seven Deadly Sins. And I think this episode probably confirmed this is where Weiss falls for Jaune and they become a main couple. Seriously RT?

Jaune was so fucking cringy in this episode, I swear

Cinder continuing to prove why she's the best freaking antagonist in this series. No one comes close to her.

Ok, saw the episode. Lots of tension there, i liked it.

There was indeed a lot of focus on jaune. However to me that would make sense only if this is finally building up for his semblance to be revealed. Which I don't really expect will be insane but it will be useful at least.

Tbh I don't see a way out for the gang right now. The only ally they have incoming is blake anf even with her help they should be outmatched against 2 maidens.

As for weis, i don't expect her to die but for a moment there I was convinced she was going to be evaporated. Since she wasn't i would think she will recover eventually.

So and we got a bit more of the silver eyes... It seemed like they shut down maiden powers.

I am kinda disappointed that the others were merely killed. I was hoping for more tbh. Also, it seems like the haven plan is decidedly simpler than the beacon one. Kill crow, blow up haven, feelings bring the grim.

And I really can't stop hating raven.... She is honestly going after her brother and even her daughter. I hope qrow beheads her. Unless she has more of a plan here.

I am surprised that oz is so scared of the big guy. It's the second time now.... I can't help but feel the guy is a big deal even beyond a mere salem servant. He might even be connected to the plots grander aspects.

Cinder redemption? I honestly was not expecting such a thing lol. She has been having her way in the plot for god knows how long and more so, she has fully enjoyed every second of it. I was expecting at some point we would get more insight into why she follows salem but even then a redemption seems unlikely. And this episode gave me an idea into why she would. When cinders disciple was asked about her actions her response was simple loyalty to cinder... Odds are that the same goes for cinder and salem. Salem isn't a particularly traditional enemy, she is understanding and caring in a twisted way. And cinder could have been raised by that.

That said, i do kinda expect cinder to die relatively soon. And for her power to move on to ruby.

Another thing, why do the schenee inherit their semblances? Isn't that... Magic like? I wonder if they are related in some way to the winter maidens... Perhaps the original winter maiden?
