It's interesting how cinder and the previous fall maiden fight so differently. The previous fall maiden fought using thunder and wind meanwhile cinder focuses heavily on fire. It's likely that this is a matter of preference but you'd think that when you have maidens for every season their powers would have a more limited scope. If anything you'd think the summer maiden would be more of a fire user and in turn the fall maiden would be more of a wind user... Winder would be ice... and no idea with spring. I guess controlling plants or something to that effect?

Crackpot theory: Cinder isn't really the fall maiden. Maybe she can use fire powers because she is actually the summer maiden. Ozpin went ahead and told each maiden they were a different thing thus there would at least be some trolling in case any of the maidens got compromised. He probably didn't foresee salem being able to steal maiden powers however over a long period of time it is not impossible that there is a traitorous maiden. Such as the current "spring" maiden. Maybe this is the additional protection ozpin was speaking of. So you have a "fall" maiden that can't open the beacon vault and a "spring" maiden that can't open the haven vault.That is the sort of troll level you only acquire over multiples lives worth of trolling.

Another bit that made me think of that: How does salem know about the maidens and which maiden opens which door? This is something that of course only people in ozpin's inner circle would know about and ideally would keep secret from salem. Barring shenanigans, that was probably the original endgame. To hide the relics behind doors and leave the key unknown. However salem does know which maiden opens which door. Meaning that in the past someone from ozpin's inner circle betrayed him. And how did he compensate? By adding a bit of fun to this.

Salem existed since ancient time along with Ozpin.So she may very well know this mechanism.

Yeah, of course, but aren't the maidens, relics and vaults relatively new? IIRC the academies are about 80 years old. So unless the vaults were already there before the academies were built the implication would be that whole thing is new to begin with. Of course, it is also possible that the vaults are much older than and that salem's knowledge of them predates by far recent events.

Well, to be fair jaune probably won't have a weiss memento to melt into his shield. Unless he steals weiss rapier from her funeral and melts it into his sword or something. At which point weiss will forever squirm in his grave at the thought of her very expensive sword spending eternity with a poor person. If not poor, at least less wealthy. Because come on, her family's company is the sole supplier to the world's only energy source.

Nah I don't buy it that Weiss will bite it at all..

I stand by my words that Blake and Weiss will survive the whole story 100 % mainly because of what this two girls will become in the future :
- Blake is already a Symbol for Faunus from Menagerie you ma say and they will follow her in future ( It could also work with Blake as a Martyr but then Blake wouldn't be able to work together with Weiss to make a world better place )
- When her personal Arc will find its conclusion ( another point why she will survive ) Weiss will become a head of one of the most important companies in the world and that Company oppress Faunus the most

I can see Ruby or Yang dying but that later in the story ( We are somewhere in half of the story so far )

If Weiss die then we never get RWBY reunion because :
- Blake will blame herself and most likely leave
- Yang will blame Blake
- Ruby will be just standing there ( Like always )

But it can complicate reunion even more tbh ( Weiss you told that you will be ready when Blake will return get your ass fixed )..

I can see Weiss fall into Coma tbh for some time ( basing on what character she's based on ) but she will survive..

If Jaune or Ozpin will do something we may even get Weiss in next chapter :

Dunno, I don't think becoming the company's head is all that important for weiss. She is aiming to become a huntswoman, hates her dad (whom I just noticed dyes his hair to look like a schnee), her brother is an "ass" for "reasons" and her mother is a depressed alcoholic. She only cares about winter who is also a huntswoman who relinquished her claim to the company as well. Sure, weiss does care about her family name but she doesn't need to run to company to care for that. Saving the world and making life for everyone better is a much bigger deal than that. I get the impression weiss cared about the company because she is supposed to rather than because she genuinely wants to run it.

Yang vs adam? I think there will be a confrontation though either it is way down the line or it will have a lot more people in it. Of course, we don't really have a reference of how strong adam is however it kinda looks like the guy is beyond a mere student. The guy appears to be about as powerful as a full fledged hunter. He foderized blake, then yang and did not even glance at that grim when it attacked him... If yang were to fight him again she'd lose another arm at least. Defeating adam would require someone like qrow or raven IMO. Maybe a couple volumes from now team RWBY will have just enough to beat him. Technically everyone in team rwby has a reason to fight him after all. Though TBH I wouldn't mind tai appearing and just wrecking him for daring to harm a hair on his baby girl.

TBH the jaune-phyrra couple annoys me a bit. Right before phyrra died we saw her kissing jaune and there was this whole thing about her loving jaune because he saw her for her rather than a celebrity or something. But jaune placed phyrra on an altar so high above the ground while simultaneously shoving his entire head up his ass that he didn't notice the incredibly obvious feelings she had for him. Heck, he didn't seem to realize he liked phyrra until she kissed him. Before that it was all weiss. And that dance but still. I guess it's not the couple that annoys me, just the idea that jaune did anything vaguely in the vicinity of seeing phyrra for who she was.

The problem is not that Yang doesn't have place in fight against because she obviously has the problem is that people want Yang to solo Adam without any Blake involvment.. << Yeah that's not gonna happen Adam isn't going down without Blakes involvement

And I agree with @kkck if Yang will go against Adam all by herself she will be shut down again..

Armed and Ready exist just like many other songs but every song should be taken with a grain of salt, not every song is canon..

But Weiss clearly states that she will fix her family name and company and Blake goal ( Equality ) won't become true when Schnee company working the way they working now and world wouldn't become better place for everyone if Schnee company would still " Employ Faunus Workers " WF would be back to the same state as in the start of the story..

I'm sort of mixed on how I feel about this couple. Mostly because Pyrrha was/is my favorite character in the series (Blake a close second), but honestly I'm not a big fan of Jaune. It isn't even due to his relentless pursuing of Weiss (Never been much of a Weiss fan). He's just....bland. As a character. Part of me usually feels like he's supposed to be a comic relief character (Like Nora), so the author pushing him to the front lines is just kind of misplaced?
Pyrrha's feelings for Jaune make sense for someone in her position, but I agree with you. I think the reason Jaune never really allowed himself to entertain the thought of Pyrrha liking him was because he assumed she could do better than him (I also agree with this btw )

Damn, now I am even more curious as to who hazel is and why he is so angry at ozpin... The obvious choice of course is that hazel is a former ozpin lieutenant who lost something due to ozpin. However that we haven't been told about this at this point who hazel is, considering ozpin should at least have very few secrets left. It would also be weird if hazel was a relatively recent lieutenant and yet even qrow, the apparently most trusted lieutenant, doesn't know about him. And if he knew you'd think he'd react more to him. So far the scenario seems to be along the lines of:

Ozpin: oh no.
Oscar: Hey oz, did you just crap OUR pants? Did you specifically have to take over for a second just for that.
Ozpin: Well, it seemed efficient since when we die our vowels empty anyways. And we at least annoy him when he murders us that way.
Oscar: It's going to be weird we transfer to another body, it's going to have 3 souls.
Ozpin: What? 3 souls? Why? OOOH. Yeah, sure, 3 souls. Sure. Sure. Sure.

The worst part of it all is that not only Hazel but Cinder and Raven may also go after Ozpin ass now which will put Qrow only in a more dangerous spot because like a good doggy he will protect Ozpin.

Dunno all I can think of is :
- Ozpin in the past reincarnate in someone that was very close to Hazel or someone close to Hazel become Maiden and dies because of Ozpin schemes
- It was more of like my theory that Hazel is a werewolf but: Hazel similar like Qrow and Raven receive a gift from Ozpin to turn into a wolf however over time that ability have evolved and he lost control over himself and turn into a werewolf and end up killing people that he has cared about..
- Ozpin just did some nasty shit for a greater good yet again.
