I was thinking that the Army of Pennys in Atlas would be unlikely, since I'm guessing a robot with an aura would not be an easy thing to build.

So... what would be the point of one? The endgame with the technology should be to be able to mass produce skilled hunters. Heck, the whole point of penny attending the festival was to show her off to the world and announce the future. It shouldn't be weird that atlas already has an army of those.

Yup. Was a fan of Monty since from way back, pre-RWBY days.
It's been neat watching how far things have grown from the small beginnings; do miss his frenetic action sequences though. They always had a certain rhythm to them, like a dance routine, that's an uncommon thing these days (anime, film, or otherwise).

I don't care all that much about Adam anymore tbh. The last volume didn't kill him literally but it very much neutered him as a character which is basically a fate worst than death. Adam was supposed to be an extremely skilled fighter, a cunning and charismatic leader hellbent on an objective.... The wrath of the faunus if you will. In turn he is simply some pathetic jackass not even motivated by his deranged ideology or racism against humans but rather merely spite. There is nothing else to adam other than pathetic spite. Volume 5 ruined adam, and IMO beyond saving. To even do anything with adam in a vaguely competent manner whether it is as a villain, antihero, or redeemed asshole, they'd have to give him substantial character development, even a story arc where he transcends how pathetic he is. It's not like we need an arc to further establish how pathetic he is at least. Honestly, the best thing they could do with adam is straight up forget he exists and never mentioning him again. And if anyone ever asks about him deny he existed or say he was too pathetic to have the capacity to continue to exist. Honestly, there is nothing about blake/adam that has been done over the past 2 volumes that I enjoy, or at least I dislike it more when giving it a bit of thought. I want dual blade grumpy ninja catgirl blake back, not non ninja non dual blade blake we got past volume 4. OH GOD VOLUME 5 FLASHBACKS! MAKE THEM STOP!

On that sad note I also want back:

1.- Non one trick pony weiss. Remember when she knew how to use her sword and dust? I certainly do not.

2.- Quirky ruby. I get that she overcame her social anxiety and whatnot but does that mean they had to rid her of the entirety of her volume 1-3 quirkiness?

3.- Non pathetic raven. Actually the damage yang did by pointing out WAY TOO OBVIOUS stuff is not the type you recover from. Raven got to the relic and she didn't even have a plan nor the balls to stick to what she was doing. Yang basically pointed out the very obvious truth that taking the relic would only make raven more of a target and her reaction to this OBVIOUS REALITY to which there is not even the possibility of an alternative was her breaking down in tears and running away with her tail between her legs. Raven planned this whole thing and she was crushed by a few words. I could have bought raven being a coward, because to begin with she simply ran away. but I do not buy the sheer amount of nonsense the entirety of her character arc this volume was. She seems like she lacks the basic capacity to reason. She just incoherently fumbled her way through volume 5 and when she reached her objective she realized how nonsensical everything she did was and cracked.

And I think part of the issue with her is that the authors didn't have the balls to take raven where she should have gone. Raven as a character is defined by her fear of salem. There were two logical steps the writers could have taken:

1.- Raven is a coward and she doesn't intend to actively fight salem but she has the sense to know salem getting the relics is bad for her as well. So her actions are centered around getting salem of her back. So she gets the visit from salem and co... and decides that her strategy will be to appear to work for them but betray them at the last second (contrary to her apparently winging it through the entirety of the thing as it appears towards the end of the volume given how easily she cracked to yang). She works the qrow angle and manipulates events so as to separate cinder from the others. She can solo cinder but not cinder and her allies. Once at the vault she stabs cinder in the back. And this is where things get really different. Raven has two choices, the first being to leave the vault close. The second choice being her opening the vault, get told off by yang and immediately proceed to ignore her. Then raven grabs the relic, presumably after slapping armless yang around a bit, and straight up gives it to qrow. Which gets salem to focus her attention of them. It's not a good plan but it is the best she could come up with. And would make sense from her perspective at least.

2.- Raven plays both sides as in the previous scenario but with one crucial difference: She takes her village of criminals and murderers and straight up joins salem.

Can't say Ilya is a character I care all that much about. My reaction to her having feelings for blake was "wait, what? What is going on here? All of what she has done relates to feelings blake didn't return? She tried to murder blake's family?". Ilya's feelings for blake in any form being connected to her white fang actions make the entirety of what we have seen from ilya.... somewhere between stupid and needlessly convoluted. If anything her feelings for blake coming into play in any form make the story far messier and nonsensical than it otherwise would be.

But besides that, I find the short to be really good. Awesome fight scenes and we get to see characters like Ilya, Ghira and Sienna, who is great in this.

I guess they're making Adam's face reveal (and thus, his true identity and backstory) to be a big deal, so they'll probably dive into it to season 6. Looking forward to it

Honestly Sienna got what she has deserved have started portraying Adam like some kind of hero because he killed that guy that was a moment I believe that started twisting him.

I have this question since it was up 2 weeks ago but I have to honestly ask this how old is Adam and Ilia in the scene with Ghira ( over five years before Volume 1 ) they don't appear much younger and the person stops changing drastically in 17/19 years old..

Meaning that when they wanted to bang Blake ( Adam probably did ) << let's say she was 16 years old then Ilia and Adam would be 21 + speaking about creepy factor... either that or plot hole.

Blake most likely got a inspiration for her weapon from both Adam and Sienna..

Either some kind of horrible scar or SIlver eyes...

Part of me thinks that Adam will not join Salem and he will just become wild card and will follow RWBY and Co. to Atlas on his own.
