Man, some of the environmental art, design and animation is getting on that high tier level. So much so that the character themselves almost dont match with it, almost
Maya engine stepping up its game once again. Lets hope the battle animation and choreography stepped up as well.

I already say the whole magic aspect is bullshit Weiss can literally summon dead opponents to her aid which is far more magical than Birds :P

I wouldn't be surprised if this is Semblance but IMO it's a flashback of Ozpin.

A lot of people, from what I've seen on youtube, assume that the mysterious character is Watts, as they both have matching clothing. But how he manages to do such feat is another story. So for now, the guesses are either a new maiden or Watts.

That would be cool. I theorized that she might be their tour guide on their journey to Atlas, but this one is also a possibility.

If it is watts it would sort of make sense if he had a flying gadget. On the other hand people seem to be sort of worshiping this person which sort of hints at actual magic being at play.

If Emerald is the fall maiden, then...

But, if we are to assume Em is the new maiden, then it's guaranteed that she's way stronger, perhaps using her magic to new heights, and is in a dilemma with Salem, as implied during her scene with Tyrian (and Salem's words that follow).

Semblances are kind of "like" magic, but is highly limited in my eyes. With magic, you could anything with it, so people would see someone as a higher being.

Did we ever learn cinder's semblance? that seems like a plot hole right now. Emerald has a strong ability but I don't think that adding magic to her skillset would by default make her stronger than cinder. Emerald still seems young and unskilled compared to proper huntress. I imagined that Cinder's semblance was the glass thing, and the fire came from dust, since WOR explained that dust can be put on clothes, and to an extent, human skin too like with Hazel. I could be wrong though

I didn't say that Emerald will be stronger than Cinder. I only say that Em will be a stronger fighter than before. But I do agree that while she has extra abilities, it would not automatically mean she'll face up against the show's greatest fighters. Her dilemma with Salem would be the highlight, and at the end of the volume, she'd get used to her new powers.

Small, but rather annoying nitpick though are those bodyguards. The ones they were talking to have color coated clothes, and one girl even has a robot freaking arm. Do they not get the hint that they're capable of protecting themselves?

Oh well, whatever. They already got a point across about them. Let's just wait for the excitement!
