Ok, watched the episode. Many things to comment on.

Animation has definitely improved and they are clearly trying to take the tone earlier volumes had. That's a good thing at least. I feel like fighting quality is still subpar but improving at least. Also good to see weiss is doing more than summons. On the other hand her not using summons at times seems like a glaring plothole. At least it seems like they haven't found a proper balance between weiss' techniques so far.

I am almost sad to see sun go. I wasn't specially attached to sun in general but looking back he is one of the few things that made blake entire awful storyline over the past few volumes less intolerable. Of course, now that blake is with her team mates it might be the case that he simply is, as he says, not needed. That really does depend on the writers not handling blake like a turd in the wind....

I am not sure of why turning off the turrets was that big a deal. How were they attracting grim to the passengers any more than they already were? Those things took down like half a dozen grimm, I call that fucking useful.

Also surprised the guy kept his arm at all. you'd think hitting stone at that speed would turn his arm to paste even with aura,

Now, what actually was the most interesting part of the episode was the intro. There is simply so much packed into it.

Obviously the single most important part of the intro is HOLY SHIT OUR ONE TRUE GODDESS NEO IS FUCKING BACK! If she gets treated anything like any of the characters in volume 5, where it kinda looked like they were all lobotomized offscreen and turned into bumbling morons, I am going to be unhappy.

Atlas mechanics... nice joke there.

the bit with the old lady in the intro makes me think she might have had silver eyes at some point.

And the bit with qrow drinking and getting swallowed by darkness.... foreshadowing? Rwby handled the same critters just fine after all. And qrow getting killed over his alcoholism makes sense. Actually those arms remind me of cinder. And they are coming from a cave when rwby is cutting them.

The bit with the ozpin looking statue looks interesting. The lady made me think of goodwitch though. Seems like ozpin might have a preference for blonde helpers.

And it seems like we were shown some of ozpins past lives...

And also, I simply can't stress this enough NEO IS BAAAACKKKKK!!!!!

Weiss is my favourite too,Cinder is well complicated to me,she is a damn good villain no doubt but I never quite liked her or better her personality.She is someone whom you love to hate.
