I still don't understand why it was a good idea to shut down the turrets while the others were fighting. Something about the turrets attracting people closer to the passengers but so what? We saw the turrets killing grim, perhaps even at a faster rate than the girls were killing them. And if not that, they weren't hurting. Its not like the turrets were attracting more random grim either. I need an explanation otherwise I am going to call bullshit.

I mean, I could buy that IF the episode had explained it. But it didn't. The episode did not really even allude to this possibility in general. Did we at least see a grim trying to enter the train this way? The explanation they gave was something about grim getting closer to passengers but when exactly does the episode evidence grim getting closer to any passengers due to the turrets? Were they fighting on top of cargo cabins rather than passenger cabins? I could accept that explanation if there was enough evidence to support it. I could have understood if the issue was the grim spreading out to deal with turrets this slowing down their killing but the episode does not exactly evidence that either. Not that grim being focused in one spot on the train provides an obvious tactical advantage based on what we saw.

• Oz once again on some shady shit.
• The Relic of Knowledge is interesting, but a bit meh with its drawbacks. Lol so its basically Genie in the Lamp, but granting knowledge instead of wishes
• Cinder alive, no surprises here since we saw her on the poster and opening. But i gotta say the Spring vault chasm looked deeper in volume 5. Now it looks like its just 50 or less metres with a lake beneath. Lucky Cinder
• Cinder once again a bitzh. Poor civilian
• Mistral black market ok but uninteresting at the moment. Looking at the opening Cinder will soon meet Neo
• Oz again on some shady shit, but i am soooooooo happy RWBY team said; fu*k you, time for the truth.
• Lol its a Genie. The inspiration RT took from is pretty obvious.
• Daaamn what a cliffhanger aaaaaaaaaaaa i wanna see the next episode
• Next episode is gonna be lit i cant wait

I don't think I ever wrote my thoughts on episode 1 other then an opinion in the beginning.... Oops... Will just do Episodes 1-2 together then

So watching the second one before reviewing the first actually fits as we start episode 2 with a backflash.

The plan is to get a military escort from an military outpost to Atlas/Ironwood. So they went to the train station and Qrow sent that letter...…………. Even though they "should" make it to Ironwood before the letter does.... But did anyone suspect they would be jinxed on the way? Who sees the letter actually arriving first and when the main team is in danger, Ironwood shows up with the letter? (Oh wait this isn't Fairy Tail) xD

Cinder is alive as well. #sarcasm

So episode 1 was not only concluding where we left off with some of Blake's plots from volume 5, but also introducing a new character who will be important this season. While episode 2 is a transition episode setting up the plots with Cinder and also Salem. The first episode was a really good episode. Really enjoyed it. The second one felt really fast. Was thoroughly immersed in it, but felt something was missing. It didn't flow as well with the switching POVs.

Salem's backstory hype!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oz's connection hype!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But this makes the relic of knowledge feel like such a plot device. Also in the explanation of the relic, how many times did Oz lie or leave out important stuff?
1. It attracts Grimm
2. There is a jinn in it who can answer two questions.

I love that people are questioning Ozpin. He clearly is full of BS. Think they should understand not to trust him but know that he knows way more then him. While he is in Oscar's body, he feels easer to disrespect without his super cool previous form. He also just feels more like a manipulator when previously he was set up as someone who made things happened with his will in the world. Want him to grow a spine, he's so old yet letting these teenagers walk over him.

The story of the girl in the tower is Salem's story. From wiki, Fairy tales are stories passed down through the history of Remnant. Although generally regarded as mere myths and legends, even the most unlikely of stories are said to have some basis in reality. Known fairy tales include The Tale of the Two Brothers, The Shallow Sea, The Girl in the Tower and The Story of the Seasons. Of these, only the last is known in detail. Qrow Branwen also knows of another tale about silver eyes told to him by Ozpin, although the legend's title is unknown.

So Silver Eyes was introduced in Volume 3-4.

The story of the seasons was introduced in volume 4.

The girl in the tower is being hit upon now. Wonder if that means the last two about the two brothers and the shallow sea will come into play in the future????

Each episode also had a different villain that was promoted. Last one was Adam. This week it was Cinder. Next week I hope they stick with Salem and don't throw too much other information at us all at once. We still have Emerald to explore as we have see clips of her this season. I wonder where her character will go since she isn't a maiden like people suspected since Cinder is alive.

Already miss Nora!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope for future episodes: Weiss to not feel like a background character in a volume about Atlas. Also for her to get a real fight against a named character and win. That is all.

Ok, nice episode.

The one thing i didn't like this episode is everything related to cinder. Her survival is bs gi
given what we know so far. She was frozen solid, that alone should have killed her. And of course she should have shattered once she hit the water. If cinder is alive, at a minimum we need a sufficient explanation.

I liked the ozpin stuff. This so far has been handled fairly well at least. But tbh, i am kinda on ozpins side on this one. Sure, he is insanely shady but he won me over when he pointed out lionheart wasn't the first to betray him. From his perspective it makes sense to keep some things to himself. He isn't fighting. Short term war, he is fighting a war that lasts entire ages. Its much more efficient to give information based on a need to know basis rather than to people he simply trusts at a time.

And of course, the wish. It is very likely it will reveal some gory salem aspects that the girls won't like. But there is also the consideration this is information ozpin already has. So in that sense the wish was wasted. I won't fault this on lazy writing, rather on poor planning. The smartest move on Ruby's part would have been to tell ozpin to reveal everything otherwise she will waste a wish and they would learn everything regardless. Of course, ozpin could have lied but if they felt like ozpin was holding back they could always waste the wish. But alas, they only have one wish. I also need an explanation regarding how the lamp regains its charges.

As for the old lady.. cannot wait to see how she will be relevant. Because she is definitely learning everything as well.

The comment on jaune killed me lol. I wonder how his semblance will affect other semblances... Well, the effect should be obvious but if ruby or nora need a jaune backpack so to speak this isn't so convenient.

This guy is thinking the same thing as me in regards to the old lady and the silver eyes.

another interesting detail is the area surounding the castle. It's litered with weapons. Is the castles constantly in seige? Or is this from another time? The lore videos or whatnot suggested there was a war in the past.. and iirc there was a king which might have been ozpin. So... Maybe salem is actually ozpins daughter.

We also know that ozpin lived in seclusion when he made the maidens. I am guessing it was his failure with salem that caused the seclusion.

But that war was around 80 years ago or something that I doubt that Ozpin and Salem only fighting for around 80 years unless everything he told so far was a lie..

It could be a war between Faunus and Humans mentioned in Faunus WoR but I also kinda doubt that.

Cinder being alive doesn't come as a surprise. But the way how she survived is very weird considering the height she fell from as a frozen body. Not to mention that she fell right on her back if you look at her last moments in the previous season. Well, given the circumstances and conditions of the end of Volume 5, there was literally no way you could let her survive in a plausible way. So, this was actually the best option out of all the possible bad ones. In any case, I guess Cinder is now ready to kick some asses. @Emperor Spriggan can't wait to tease the anti-Cinder-squad.

Oz is so freaking funny: "I feared that making you all aware would only add anxiety and negativity. It seems like the safer option."
I'm actually at a loss for words. You hide the fact that Grimm could show up any moment from the soldiers you want to use to defeat those Grimms? How does this make any shred of sense? Sorry, this is just poorly written in order to force some quarrel. I think I said it before, I can understand Oz keeping his secrets (whether he is in the right or not is a different matter), but these kind of stuff are not one of them and have to be told. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised that they could use the relic, and they even have two free questions (now one). Oz had this coming, he was way too shady. I also liked Qrow's reaction to all of this and how he was like "let's get this shit done already" at the end. Even Qrow has a hard time to support Oz.

Okay episode with hits and misses. Next episode will be a blast, I hope.

Speaking of Salem and the war. Remember how the opening has her looking up at what looks to be Ozpin’s statue.

Remember in opening of vol1 with Jaune looking up at the statue of the male and the female. The male looks like he has Jaune’s sword like maybe it’s his grandfather (the one he inherited everything from/the one that fight in the war). Does that vol 1 statue look like one of Ozpin’s incarnations to anyone? Maybe some connection there to why Ozpin initially took Jaune into his school even though he was an ordinary guy back then? Or maybe it’s just me.

Sure Ozpin's obstinacy is irritating but i now think there is deep reason for it.



Look Cinder is back who is surprised?Lol joking but still in no logoclo way Cinder should have survived that fall, unless she is Darth Maul.


Though I am interested to see what she does now.

We got to see why Team RWBY pointed their weapons at Ozpin in this episode.


Also the Granny is good.

Qrow's reaction was priceless though. While everyone else just stood there frozen in shock, Qrow had the expression of shock and disappointment all over his face. The fact that he also lowered his head in complete disbelief puts the cherry on the cake and further demonstrates the difference in relationship the kids and Qrow have towards Ozpin. Those are beautiful little details in my opinion.

In regards to Cinder, we shouldn't think too much into things. She probably got intel on Blake offscreen one way or the other. Blake is Ruby's teammate after all, so whoever tries to get info on Ruby and her social environment will stumble across the likes of Blake or people close to Ruby. However, I still don't get why Cinder wants to find them? For what purpose?

Where does Neo come into play? Did I miss something in episode 2, because I didn't see any reference pointing to a Cinder x Neo plotline.

I doubt it's Adam, since he is a rather normal build man. Hazel on the other hand sounds way more legit.

That’s it but you can’t see him there but the statue shows up other places. And he’s holding a sword that looks just like Jaune’s grandfather’s before Jaune modified it.
