The beginning flashback was really cool although it wasn’t until the fight that I became invested in the events. These episodes have been great and vastly entertaining, yet something about this season feels a bit all over the place. A bit of “whatever we want to show you” vs events with a cohesive story. We had a bit of Salem, a bit of Cinder, the Apathy, and now Maria (which was to be expected she would get her history explained/some development).

They definitely seem like they are pushing Neo and Cinder alliance more than Salem’s group atm. With what little we saw of Adam from the beginning plus his short before the season, will he end up joining this group if he’s also hunting Blake? Tbh, that’s the only way I can see her having her own role this season. Weiss will get developed in Atlas with her family, which looks to be next season. Looking forward to a potential Neo vs Yang rematch. Hope they aren’t setting Maria or Qrow to be the fodder for Ruby to defeat Cinder at the end of the season.

Maybe it wasn’t Salem after Maria’s eyes/death. Maybe it was someone like Cinder, maiden who knew her? Someone she had a personal beef with? It could set up the next maiden to be introduced. Especially if it mirrored Cinder and Ruby. It would be surprising if she was someone Salem knew and Ozpin didn’t. However, if she was a loner type and only used silver eyes in private, then desposed of the frozen Grimm debris (unlike Ruby who left the frozen Nevermore at Beacon), maybe you could stretch it as a secret?

I liked the music how the music and the change in scenery became hopeful as they saw the city.

The reunions and the hugs was were cute af. Nora jumping Oscar was the best. My girl is back!! The poor boy gets so left out of the group stuff. And now because he no longer has Oz in his head, he’s kind of unneeded. Plus being punched by Qrow recently. He needs some love.

The rest just felt like it could have been put in a chibi episode. Was more interested in how they are going to get to Atlas then anything else. The reactions to the baby were OTT to force humor, while Jaune and his sister were adorable, somehow he came across looking like a bigger baby then the baby. That’s actually pretty impressive tbh .

They were pretty Over-the-top to force humor. Very unnatural. Prefer organic moments. Also stereotypical joke that if you are a girl then you naturally adore babies. Pinching their cheeks and making googling eyes at them.

Blake was also watching that kid at that moment and they didn't go overboard..

And we have Ruby then...

Yeah, Blake me to... For me, it was kinda ruining this scenes because they went overboard with this characters

Uff, the pace feels extremely slow. I fear that too many crazy things will happen towards the end which is rather suboptimal from story telling point of view. Generally, I wouldn't complain about moments such as the later half of this episode, but we are at episode 7 now and we still take tiny steps forward.

The first half was quite good though. The way Maria used her Semblance? was astonishing, I mainly liked the part when she redirected stuff with it. What kind of power did Maria's opponent use with the clock? Your usual time limited physical enhancement?

- How Cinder knows that Ruby ha the Relic like really??

Second, what exactly does neo need cinder for in this "plan"?

I didn't get this Cinder x Neo at all. Can anyone enlighten me? How come Cinder knows that Ruby has the relic and not Raven? And what's in there for Neo to team up with Cinder? I won't lie, they make an interesting team, but there is actually nothing holding them together. If I understood Cinder correctly, she won't even participate in whatever Neo is going to do. Well, at least we got a foreshadowing of what will happen to Cinder soon:

Granted, the story took a more serious turn now, but her comedy-moments hardly live up to the past ones, unfortunatey. The way Maria used her Semblance?

It wasn't her semblance she had Gravity dust in both Kama's/sickles/hatchets (:P) and somehow connected them one with another..

I know we won't get this but that tool is useful let's say you build a bracelet and connect it with your weapon so once you have gotten disarmed you can use the bracelet to grab your weapon back < Would be useful for characters like for example Weiss/Ruby

What kind of power did Maria's opponent use with the clock?

Funny enough 6:08-7:08 small detail but cool...

Her Semblance is and it was poorly showed tbh... <<< If you are Invulnerable why do you block attacks or not pushing at your enemy whole time?? it was kinda bad tbh..

We got two dual wielders this Episode I swear to god RT put some effort in Blake's fights....the moment she won't be now dual wielding will be a big negative from me because they clearly are able to animate it just don't give a fuck to animate it for Blake...

Cinder and Neo look together for Ruby and way to get to Atlas <<< Ok makes sense

Further, it's not like Cinder won't do anything she just can't do one thing " Killing Ruby " she may kill anyone else and knock out Ruby but finishing her off is job or Neo... And here I have expressed already how I don't like Salem giving Ruby additional plot armour...

- Not a fan of " Salem doesn't want Ruby's death " <<< there's no stakes at all with Ruby involved basically bad guys are said to not even wound her like...

After this chapter even more what so special about Ruby??? Tock was ordered by her master ( Salem most likely ) to kill Maria because of her eyes and Hazel mentioned that they dealt with SE in the past.

So what so special about her.?

I kinda liked also Maria line directed to Yang " Some of you are already stronger than I " << Everyone looks Yang with a smile ( well Blake wasn't smiling and Yang wasn't looking certainly happy as well <<< she knows she still not her own self

But at the same time Maria you lost your eyes and Yang wasn't hunted like you so it's hardly similar situation..

No one can enlighten you about this. This, sir, is what is known as a plot hole. it is the antithesis of enlightenment. You throw plot at it and it devours it. Becoming larger and in turn devouring more and more. It will continue to move the story while simultaneously devouring whatever plot and structure it finds in its way thus making everything increasingly nonsensical. Until the end of time when the god of light itself returns to pass its judgement onto humanity and when seeing the plot hole he says one word: "Nope".

For me it was more like... The series generally was not that strong plot wise. That's just a fact. But the series worked because it had enough going for it that you could reasonably overlook a glaring plot hole. The music with the colors and choreography was really well done and worked perfectly. All of the fights in the earlier volumes were incredible to watch. So you had that with a story that was told sort of half competently which ended up working well. But now the fights are far more generic and the story is told even less competently hence all you are left with is a huge plot hole.

Ah, I didn't notice that blake and weiss were not exactly happy to see argus. It's a nice detail to include there. I have to wonder if next chapter we will see weiss trying to find a ship to smuggle them into atlas. She conveniently found one that took her out, it makes sense she'd find one that would take them back.

Invincibility for 60 seconds, like for real? She must be one of the most stupid fighters in the whole series if she can't take out her opponents by surprsie.

But... that doesn't make sense. If Cinder plays a (huge) role at defeating Ruby and co., but just lets Neo deliver the finishing blow, it is as much Cinder's kill as it is Neo's and Salem won't see it differently. So whatever Cinder plans to do against Team Ruby, she has to make sure that not a single information about her involvement gets leaked to Salem.

Ruby have used it ( Red trailer ) Blake have used it ( Volume 2 against Roman ) and Weiss is using it ( Dark glyphs )

Dust was supposed to be expensive etc. but so far characters have no problems with lack of it so I would say it isn't rare.

Dust was supposed to be expensive etc. but so far characters have no problems with lack of it so I would say it isn't rare.

Overall the series is not all that consistent or even vaguely coherent regarding dust and the economy around it. Look at the first volumes when roman was stealing it. Earlier I mentioned that there were plot holes in the good volumes I was willing to ignore because of other stuff, dust is one of them. Roman stole what appeared to be warehouses worth of dust. The implication was that roman was so magically effective at this that there wasn't any more dust to steal practically. Him stealing such as astonishing amount of dust was never made into a plot point. It was never addressed. And the series definitely did not really address why stealing all that dust was necessary for cinder's plan to trash vale.

As for the girls having dust... Most of them just use regular dust cartridges. I would assume that the mass produced stuff is cheaper. Weiss is the only one that uses more complex dust applications in combat and for most of the series she has been fabulously wealthy enough to snort dust if she cared to do it. I mean, her family has a near monopoly on the world's one energy resource. Her wealth level should be comparable to that of every oil owner in the real world combined. Heck, weiss' family should be so astonishingly wealthy it should be a plot hole that this hasn't been discussed more.

Seems to me Jaune's sisters "lover" might be a plot point?

Also I too think like someone else pointed out i don't think Salem is behind the attack on Maria,if it was Salem she would have kidnapped her.


Also some new chemistry between Jaune and Ruby


I think they will take this entire volume to reach Atlas.


If Cinder and Neo are defeated for good in this volume then this series may end in 1-2 volumes more.
