As far as I know, that seems a good translation. Those Japanese sentences are way informal. Actually I'm amazed you understood them quite well.

I was like "WTF?" when I read it. I've never talked like that. But hey, today's younger people must be talking that way. ( though I'm also 20's. )

I wouldn't use past tense since that makes the sentence sound like he's still talking about the time of the entrance exam, but thinking about a transfer when you're not even accepted yet doesn't make any sense. He's saying that it's too late now to transfer, and it'd be troublesome because of the exam (which is apparently part of the process).

"I guess it's too late to change my major now, and the exam would be a pain in the ass anyways."
