All this time, we've been ranking characters from different factions, and even going as far making an earthland mages power ranking, but wouldn't it be interesting ranking all the battles of the series in that manner?

HOW TO RATE

-In total, we'll rate 42 battles from the beginning of the series till the last arc.

-Rate the fights based on your own personal opinion from 1-10 with ONE 11 to the fight that you consider the best out of all of them.

-You may use half marks and quarter marks: 1, 1.25, 1.50, 1.75

-No 10.25, 10.5, or 10.75

-Scores should all be sent to @Gryffindor

-Voting period will be open from today till next Tuesday, with the first elimination(s) being made on that evening.



INFORMATION

Unfortunately, there are too many fights to include in this rate, so we used our best judgement in finalizing the list. We hope you understand.

-Lucy vs. Tartaros includes Mard vs. CSK for the sake of not making the list any longer.

-Natsu vs. Zeref starts from when Natsu saved Gray from using Iced Shell (522/523) all the way until the Blaze of Savage Emotions in Chapter 536.

-Acnologia vs. The World begins with Anco’s skirmish with Jellal as that was the catalyst that led to Christina intervening, and then the subsequent chase that ended with Acno in the Timelapse, eating it, then coming out and splitting into two before he was ultimately defeated. So Chapters 528-544.

And we have decided to hold an additional voting period where you, the participants, will decide to vote in one extra fight that will serve as an honorary elimination!

While we're at it, I'd like that battle to be clarified. Does it end when Jellal casts Sema (ie before we got to see Jura stop it ), or do we include Ultear+Meldy oneshotting Jelly? Because the latter is significant to my rating. Firstly, the hilarity of their actions gets an extra 2 points for the fight. Secondly, 2 hot girls gets points. Thirdly, Ultear's cunning was on show, that may get points. And finally, it demonstrated Meldy has long range hax to people of Jelly's level - which is important if we consider what she did at the end of the story.

If we go by GMG rules, the fight ended when Jellal was defeated. He should be shamed for besmirching Mystogan's reputation.

I ranked battles by their sense (if strong one beat weaker one - it's good, if otherwise - bad, if was much POF or any BS - toooo bad) and EPIC. And also by impression in moment of the fight (even if it was short like Makarov vs Jose, it is still more impress than others).

Jura vs Laxus was mainly offpaneled and consisted mainly of nameless punch, aside from the finisher. Whereas Jura vs Jellal was epic.

Alright, i'm voting for Laxus vs Raven Tail. Too many great battles to chose from but... Yeah.

The way the poll works is that the fight with the most votes will get an honorable mention from us before we do the first elimination. No scoring is necessary for any of the fights in the poll as they aren't in the rating.

As for no Jura vs Laxus, it's pretty much like @Takuan said. Plus this was the fight where Laxus said "I'm all fired up!".

No I have a same opinion natsu vs zeref kind of hyped zeref a lot in a sense that he couldn't be killed by dead dragon fire kings MP. I was looking for there eventual rematch. To bad it was a big mistake to wait.
As for natsu vs jackal it took LFDM mode to take out jackal which hyped tartaros demons very much.
As for other matches other good fights are lucy vs angel, natsu vs zero, natsu vs cobra, laxus vs raven tail and gray vs lyon and triple DS vs droma anm. I think winner could be either one of them.

Silver vs Gray was definitely the best fight...this was the first time Gray faced Ice/Mage opponent who was completely different level, normal ice was nothing compared to Devil Slaying Magic even Natsu was one-shotted...

talking about emotions Gray was forced to see his Father pass away again really sad moment...
