Discussion Shingeki no Kyojin: Before the Fall

And dun dun dun! My guess is right. It seems like the manga is going to skip the first light novel in favor of the second and third one.
But I just realized that the time discrepancy between first and the second+third volumes are just approximately 15-16 years. Kyukuro's parents(?Still don't know how to spell his name) are named Elena and Heath. Both were mentioned during the prologue chapter of the first volume.

No problem! Also is there anywhere I can read the light novels online or have they been translated in English to buy? I'm pretty interested in reading them if there's a way I can!

SnK: Before the Fall: Blob Titan observation....

After reading chapter 0 and seeing the raw. The blob titan came in out of no where and ate a bunch of people when people arrived to fight the titan it was nowhere to be found only its regurgitated victems. Does anybody else believe that this titan devoured those humans and it became a human again like Ymir?

That's the link, for those wondering. I've been interested in this too. Looks like the first Titan-shifter to have ever been created. Obviously this is before they had the weapons to fight with, and before they knew how much danger it was.

Thanks for the post, I didn't know that there was more after the first little preview thing they made. What's the release schedule for Before the Fall? Is it monthly like the main series?

Also, does anyone want to speculate whether or not that kid is a relative of any of the main characters?

Chapter 1 has been out for a few days now. Has anyone here read it? I'm kind of surprised at the implications the ending has, especially if this stuff is in fact canon. These developments could shed a lot of light on things going on in the main series! (They could also, canon or not, turn out to be really cheesy & ill-advised, but we'll see what happens...)

I'm really interested in this manga and was hoping somebody knew when the next one was scheduled and how often will each chapter be released.

As you can see in the first post of this thread, sell date for Shounen Sirius is late each month. Looks like they just had an issue out with a sell date of 10/26, and the next issue is 11/26. Both appear to have "Before the Fall" in them. The following is just a guess, but I think it's just a low priority for Manga Editors to translate it as soon as they do the main series.

TY, I figured the series was long overdue for a second chapter wasn't sure why it wasn't translated but I guess popularity would factor into it. I just hope they translate it soon and that the series becomes more popular!

All I saw was

The titan's child is so hungry he even ate a spider on the cell. Then he is gettin' beaten to death while the rich people are watching for fun. Then the titan on the volume cover is shown roaming outside the wall.

I think there's nothing much in this chapter -_-

Nah, I don't think they'll be going with Anheru and the maneuver gear's story. One of the first advertisement images pretty much showed us whose story we're going to get. Besides, I think the reason why they're not probably going with his story is because there would be no point in buying the light novels anymore. Business standpoint, I guess. Of course, but it still may be possible to actually put it there in the manga, but from the looks of it, it seems rather bleak.

Maybe he'll appear later but it doesn't look like he's going to play a significant role in this story. As Yumpo said, it depends which LNs they cover. I thought we were still getting the Survey Corps without "fancy steampunk spiderman gear." I'll have to look again...

The story takes place before Hajime Isayama's original manga and follows Anheru, a member of the Survey Corps who works in weapons development. Anheru is tired of seeing the corpses of his fellow Survey Corps members, and is working to design equipment that will allow humans to be able to kill Titans. Thus far, no one has been able to find out the weak point of the Titans, and so no one has managed to kill one. However, government conservatives think that fighting against Titans is unnecessary, and order the dissolution of the Survey Corps.

So, it seems that we are supposed to follow Anheru, maybe we will have directly Anheru and Kyklo together in the next few chapters...

And well, this chapter is nice, you get nicely left like that at the end without anything happening, and even without understanding what they say, you know that you should hate some of the characters.

I could read the first chapter of the light novel online, does someone know a translation team working on it ?

Ahh glad the raws are out, hopefully we can get a translation soon. I'm very interested in this manga I'm hoping that it may reveal certain things about the titans, warrior homeland and ape titan faction and possibly character ancestors.
