Sir's Australian Lessons - Lesson 1: CUNT.

G'day cunts, and welcome to your first Australian Lesson. If you were already offended by the lesson topic, the second word of my opening spiel or something else, don't be a softcock and instead come with us all on this educational endeavour as we look at everything in Australian Culture, one lesson at a time! To get you desensitized, let's start by watching MaxMoeFoe say the wonderful word Cunt, and then we'll get into the lesson.

Cunt is a word that, depending on the inflection it's used and the sentence it appears in, can have a variety of meanings. In some countries where softcocks reign supreme, they interpret it as just slang for vagina, and as an insult and thus frown upon it's use. Fuck those softcocks. In Australia, we throw the word around like our lives depend on it, and in general practice we use it in a positive tone as a substitute for words like 'mate'.

Example 1 - Positive use of 'cunt': Ayy @Brandish μ you're a good cunt!

Now of course, we can also use Cunt in a negative way and that is done with both tone of voice and how you use it in the sentence.

Example 2 - Negative use of 'cunt': "I hate Scomo's grin, the smug cunt!"

Example 3 - One Australian MP calls another MP a cunt in Parliament:

The ways you can use cunt is only limited by your imagination, from describing how someone is stuffed (cunts fucked) to saying some one is funny (aw you're a cheeky cunt aye?). I'll potentially add a part 2 to this later, but now it's time for me to take any questions! Please @ me so I can make sure I have the notification.

I know this is a cheap quickie, but Lesson 2 will be more in-depth and worth it, I promise! Thanks for being good cunts, and remember, don't be a cunt like Kevin!

saying some one is funny (aw you're a cheeky cunt aye?).
I always thought in this type of sentence it‘s used ironically, ie. saying someone isn‘t funny but is trying to be :worrybunny Or can it have multiple meanings based on how you say it?

Also I am interested in it‘s cultural history. How did a word that originated from countries where it‘s a bad thing transform in Australia into a very varied and commonly used word? Is there like a year/decade where it started? Since early-Australia?

:question @SirSamuel016

What is the Aussie feminist view on that? Is it controversial or is there a rather welcoming (as in owning it finally there some fem originated word as to refer to anyone, as opposed to the rather male sounding mate/dude counterpart) or rather denouncing motion (because lot of softcocks still use it negative context) towards is?

Aye, can have multiple meanings depending on how you say it. What I cited was more ironic than legit, but again you can use it however you like. If the cunt fits~

Also I am interested in it‘s cultural history. How did a word that originated from countries where it‘s a bad thing transform in Australia into a very varied and commonly used word? Is there like a year/decade where it started? Since early-Australia?
Cunt first appeared in the 1200s in England as part of a street name tied to prostitution (Gropecunt Lane), but it wasn't until far later that it started being used as an insult, and it is/was frowned upon by a good chunk of the feminist movement. I'd say it's been a few decades in Australia at least where it's been fine to throw around with mates but there are of course softcocks everywhere so you'll set someone off if you're too liberal with it unfortunately.

I honestly haven't discussed it with an Aussie feminist; some Australian women are fine with it, others not-so-much. The more they look like the feminist memes though the more they seem to be offended by it though, from what I can tell :lmao

I just listened to some classic Ozzy Man Reviews and we will need an explanation for the word "Sheila". Also thanks for the explanation of the word cunt. While the word cunt has been a well-versed part of my day to day talk, it was mostly in a negative way, thanks @SirSamuel016 for opening my mind's eye to the possibilities of "cunt" (just like seeing a lady nekkid for the first time :')

PS: Seeing Max, Ian and Papa Franku in the video did bring a single human cake eating tear to my eye.

Just got around to watching all those. Nice lesson Sam. A few inputs of my own:
  • Cunt is much easier to say than write
  • Cunt is not a word I would use around women
  • Generally speaking, the further you go south the more 'offensive' the word is to people (latitidunal effect)
  • Generally speaking, the above applies to city-dwellers. Those from the country (not going to pun!) will use cunt more. There can be exceptions ofc
E.g, The Northern Terriorty (NT) being the most northen state/territory, and the most rural/remote, flagrantly brands the word:

I work there. This slogan is everywhere...
