Fascinating. Had to google some stuff to see if its made up lol

What's the story behind those obscure names? Is it from the prisoner settlers that were send there during colonisation or more recent events?

Heyo Sam! o/

What anime are you watching and manga you're reading nowadays?

And, what you've been waiting for, wrestling questions!
What is your favorite wrestling theme song(s)?
What gimmick matches you like the most?
What do you usually look for in a great wrestler?
What was your match and feud of last year?

And someone made a post about Roman Reigns in a r/hobbydrama reddit XP
Which reminds me, what was your opinion of him pre-heel run? I think you went back at the time where his SuperCena-like push were at its highest :?bunny

Howdy Elusia 👋

I have been watching Attack on Titan's Final Season and I've been getting into Wonder Egg Priority a bit. Manga-wise, I'm currently reading through Berserk, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy x Family and Vinland Saga.

Wrestling Theme Song is hard for me because there are a few I really like :hmm Minoru Suzuki's theme (Kaze Ni Nare) is probably my favourite? It's both iconic and never fails to get crowd engagement. After that would be Kenny Omega's New Japan theme (Devil's Sky). Honourable mentions for NJPW themes regarding the old Tanahashi theme, Nakamura's NJPW theme, Ishii's theme and Naito's theme to name a couple. Could name some of the popular WWE themes but that wouldn't be much of a process of discovery for you :P

I don't like gimmicks for the sake of being a gimmick unless it's necessary but I suppose the match-types I like when built to correctly can be things like an Iron Man Match, a multiple falls match (2/3 for example) and so forth. Needs to make sense in the story rather than just be there for the sake of it.

What do I look for in a great wrestler? Well I'd say there are lots of things that make a wrestler great, but I think some key things are being able to put on a good match, excellent promo skills, and they need to be both a great story teller and believable. If you have those elements and can get people to buy into you, that investment will make their match so much better for you as a fan and when you've got two guys like that in the ring, you can often experience something special although that also depends on how they work the match.

Fued of 2020: Jay White/Kota Ibushi for mine. Ibushi winning the G1 Climax for the second year in a row to be able to once again challenge for the title and achieve his dream, only for Jay to say "I beat you in the G1, I want to challenge you for your right to challenge for the belt) and Jay actually breaking the historic trend and beating Ibushi for that right was exceptional story-telling. Ibushi then had to get a pin on Naito in a tag match iirc, to challenge for the belts on January 4 where Jay who held the briefcase would wait for the victor on January 5. The consistently great match quality + the longer narrative of Ibushi's journey to the top makes this my favourite fued of the year.

Match of 2020: Kazuchika Okada vs Kota Ibushi, WrestleKingdom 14 Night 1. What can I say? Absolute banger of a match and once again showed New Japan was it for the best wrestling in the world! Honourable mention to Omega and Page vs The Young Bucks, and the following G1 Climax 30 matches: Kota Ibushi vs Minoru Suzuki, Shingo Takagi vs Kazuchika Okada, and Shingo Takagi vs Will Ospreay.\

I didn't like Reigns pre-heel. The vest looked stupid, he wasn't an enjoyable champion and the matches felt far too same-y.

Well, for me, I can just summed that in one month.
Manga: this has so many flaws, but I can pass that a bit in TPN because the highs in that series are so high
Anime: my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
So yea :XD

Good stuff there ^^
I want to give more thoughts and questions. So, let's go o/

From the sounds of it, you like regular matches then? Probably a long yet entertaining one that leaves viewers off their seats, too. I usually like gimmick matches, but in an event, I would like some variety.

That sounds familiar with the Bret Hart ranking. Basically, he says that in wrestlers, they would be ranked in three categories: looks, promos and ability. If their score is high, then they're a main-eventer. Do you agree?

And my two other questions :x3
What is/are your unpopular opinions about wrestling? Can be in general or specific.
And do you prefer a basic, yet emotional match and full-on high action packed match? Keep in mind that in both, crowds are into them.

Hahaha oh the suffering TPN fans never ends :XD

I wouldn't say regular matches persay, but I suppose that's accurate. I just like good wrestling. If it's a good story and it's a good match that isn't just a copy-paste of the match/matches before it then I'm in. NJPW for me are the top with matches because of the match quality, the build, and the booking so I continually point to them as they've got my favourite sort of wrestling: believable, hard-hitting stuff which always pays off.

I don't know if I entirely agree with that. Promos, in-ring ability are the major factors but appearance isn't always as big. I think instead of appearance I'd use the term 'aura', like do they have energy that matches "I am THE guy" or not, as looks don't always cut it.

Some general opinions/hot takes I have right now (might be unpopular):
- NJPW still doesn't get the credit it deserves for what it has done during the pandemic. It didn't lay any staff off whatsoever, paid all their wages even if the company was taking financial losses and that is BIG.
- Kenny Omega's current run in AEW isn't as great as people say; when they stop using the Good Brothers for finishes and let Kenny show he's got the arsenal to end it himself then it will click for me.
- NXT is failing as the "3rd brand", everything is too same-y with little to no quality storytelling leading to me to feel like it's been in a decline for some time now.
- The Miz' transitional championship angle had promise but ended up bad.
- WWE should've let Kairi Sane work the Stardom 10th anniversary show- petty not to of let her do a once-off in-ring match amidst her retirement.
- Io Shirai has gotten way too lost in the shuffles of the wrestling world and her reign isn't as significant as it should be.
- Adam Cole moving to AEW can't happen soon enough

I'd say that if the match is emotional and can get me invested in the action then that's the most important. It doesn't have to be technically perfect or in 6th gear from start to finish, but it needs to build and tell a quality story that leaves you on the edge of your seat. NXT for example feels like it is only work-rate and has done for a while. AEW is in-between work-rate and story-telling, and has a better balance of the two. NJPW is THE company for how Wrestling should be, can't go past it in story telling or match-quality which go hand in hand.

The only thing that's amazing is the soundtrack. Other than that, man... :emocat

I don't have any questions at the moment, so I'll let out my thoughts :sweatdrop

I don't think physique is the only criteria in looks. Hairstyle and wrestling attire should also count. If a wrestler has an iconic accessories or clothing that you always associated with, all the more better. But, I do agree that charisma should be considered when talking about great wrestlers.

Good hot takes there. I certainly most agree with the Kenny stuff :nod
As for my unpopular opinions I can think of right now... Let's see:
- AJ Lee is overrated. Paige and Kaitlyn are way better.
- When I was a kid, I thought that Shawn Michaels vs Triple H was the best thing since sliced bread. Now, it's not special to me.
- CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy > CM Punk vs John Cena.
- Speaking of Jeff, when talking about best babyface runs in WWE, I think he's up there during his run in 08-09.
- A lot of people really love the Big Gold Belt like it's so perfect. Uhm, do you guys know which of the two belts Triple H held during his reign of terror? Thought so :teehee

If you want to know more of my thoughts about those unpopular opinions, let me know XP
