If he was one of the testers for the smile, Oda wouldn't give a hint of his "atypical build". I'm more inclined to believe Blackbeard is a member of some unknown sub-race or something like that.

LOL. That was OT but I believe that just after or even before they launch a new iphone model, they're already working on the next. They already have ideas of what new features to add in it. So before they announced iphone 5, they already have a working prototype of it. And there's already previous iphones that were launched so you doesn't have to be a rocket scientist or a Nostradamus to predict that there would be another in the coming future.

Now about announcing something that doesn't exist yet, that's a different story. It's like you're saying that you will sell time machines when you doesn't even know how to make one or doesn't even know if it's possible to build one. Dofla let go of his primary business to start Smiley production which you are saying "doesn't exist yet". Do you think a very careful guy like him would do that?

And about BB's "atypical body", it could be the side effect of the imperfect DF. Maybe instead of transforming from human to beast and vice versa, his body just altered permanently but only his insides. Marco stated that the kind of body that BB has is unique to BB alone. So if BB is from another race, then Oda wouldn't have added that statement.

You first need to know what you want to make, and then do research until you find a way to produce it and they you start making it and selling it. When Dofla mentioned the age of smiles, it only meant they have already succeeded in producing it. But not in large quantities. They may have produced some and tested if it really worked. And one of the testers could be BB. If BB successfully hid himself as WB's crew, then there's no problem in hiding himself as a common person just to get a DF that he wanted. Maybe when he heard that an artificial DF can be produced, he disguised himself as an employee in the facility that produces it or volunteered to test it. And he chose a DF that he thinks would give him the ability to wield more than 1 DF.
BB may look like a fool but he is damn smart. He fooled WB and the WG.

then it was said that Oda once commented a fan question:

"Do all Devil Fruit have that swirly pattern on them?"
Oda: That's right. It's what distinguishes them from other fruit. Sometimes I wonder if Sanji himself is a Devil Fruit.

Is it possible that Sanji in some way can create devil fruits and that's why he is wanted alive, and not because he is some gorosei prince?

I doubt Sanji is a Gorosei or Prince and maybe making devil fruits requires cooking. Scientists are great at science, cooking is essentially chemistry, but being a great chemist isn't tantamount to being a great cook. We also know Vegapunk's devil fruit was also a failed one iirc, so perhaps Sanji's skills at cooking are well known. I personally think he's wanted because he has knowledge of something the WG need.

Seems kind of far-fetched to me, Sanji doesn't seem like the type to let Usopp and Nami run around super weak and defenseless for the first part of the story if he has the means to give them super powers. We already saw how interested he was in learning how to cook the Okama food because it would make his friends stronger, if he could have provided power ups to everyone in part 1 I think he would have.

Why would the WG comply to Big Mom's demand even if she wanted Sanji for whatever reason? Isn't that equally like the WG returning Joker to Kaido if he requested for his release?

I don't see the logic in the WG cooperating with Yonkos, if anything, they're out to defeat them especially with Akainu as Fleet Admiral, no way he'd condone that, it'd make the WG look worse than they already are.

THat was suppose to be a joke. I doubt you can take Oda's comments, specially the ones intended to be a joke at heart....


He also joked that GOl D Roger's moustache is actually his nose hair... this seems more plausible than Sanji being a DF.
