Special MH Birthday Header Contest 2009

Hello everyone

Many may already feeling it, MH will get one year older really soon! And in the effort to get more people involved in the celebration, this year we will hold a special contest. Want your work to be displayed on top of every page on MH during the celebration? Here's your chance.

This contest is the Header Contest (take that for creative name >.>). The winner's work will be put up on display for the occasion. The winner will be decided on creativity and presentation of the work. There are no limits here, but remember, sometimes simple and easy would win over an overcrowded work.

Below are the details of the contest:

• Contest Period
  The contest will run from October 12th to November 12th (closing time: "00:00" GMT November 13th)
• Size
  1000px wide (fixed!) and 70 to 100px in height
• "Mangahelpers Community" logo must be in it, unmodified
  (please download the PSD file below for it)
• The winner announcement will be announced on the birthday itself. We will announce it by putting up the winner's work up.
• Winner will be decided by the staff of MH. The decision is final. Winner will be decided by creativity, overall looks and suitability.
• If you're using someone else's images as stocks, as usual, please do ask permission first.
• You can send as many entries as you like, as long as you follow the rules above.
• Any entry which didn't meet the rules above, will automatically be rejected.

How to submit:
Please submit your work into the special Photoplog category here.
Please do mention the credits in the description (if applicable). Just submit it there, and that's it. There's no need to post your submission elsewhere.

If you have any questions about this contest, you may use this thread to ask them.

Sure, go ahead. You can submit as many times as you like, and it wouldn't hurt seeing the image logo changed. (I don't know how that would look offhand; so, I will just have to see your image once you submit it. )

Do you want us to put our name on the final product? Example: Akiyama in the corner of the header.

No, that would not be a good idea. The winning submission will be used as the header for MH on its birthday. We will make sure the winner is credited, but the header should just be for the site.

The logo color (blue & red) should stay the same or can be modified as well?

Since this'll be on the site, how well it fits the site would also be accounted for?

Hmm... I'm not sure. Were you logged in at the time you tried uploading? (It might seem like a silly question, but I just have to ask. )

If you were logged in, I don't know why you would have a problem. Try again, and if you still get some sort of error, take a screen shot and post it (or send it to me via PM).

The problem was a technical one in the way that the submission category was set up. It is solved now, and everyone should be able to submit. If you encounter any more problems, please let me know.

Yeah, the moderation was quick, because I'm online to do it right now. I'm glad that everything is going so well. The submissions look really awesome so far. Thank you, everyone, for being a part of this!

Sorry, Byakun: You're seeing this message for one of two reasons.

1) This item can't be found.

2) This item is now in 'Moderation Queue' awaiting approval before being posted in the gallery.

So what's now??

Like it says, wait for Moderation. They're just checking to see if it's met the criteria. Wait a while and you should be able to see your header.

There are so many lovely entries thus far that some among the staff have considered altering the rules to make multiple show up, but there still will be only one winner for the birthday. (We might allow some of the other high-placing submissions to be displayed as the site banner after the birthday though.)
