Theory Spinner is a late bloomer theory

So looking at all the league of villians members you can get a picture of how strong they will be in in later arcs. From dabi to toga and even recently Mr compress, you can get an idea that at some stage they will all reach the s rank villians status. Spinner has always been the black sleep of the group, he isn't skilled or born with power quirk. He almost seems like a fodder character, however the Author is clearly showing that he will have some important by always having him by shigarkai side.
So doing a bit of research on geckos I found out that there are different species that can glide and there are some species that look like snakes. The first thought that came into my head is that spinner would be given kochi quirk from vigilante because they're simular. The interesting thing about kochi is that he was a late bloomer. His quirk started out weak but improved as the story went on. This was because of the lack of understand of his quirk.
The volume extras tells us that his whole family has reptile quirks but he has a weak one, what if the years of being looked down by his family cause him to misunderstand how his quirk works

My thought is that gecko isn't a mutant quirk but a transformation quirk, he just doesn't know it yet

I did notice that one page that said his quirk is weak compared to the rest of his family, so let's just hope that he has a quirk awakening. It's either that or Shigaraki gives him a quirk, he can't just stay as fodder for the rest of the story....

Don't know about Spinner having a transformation quirk. But I do feel he will have a bigger role to play in the future, for instance as Shigaraki's close confidant. Shigaraki isn't close to Dabi / Touya at all and the latter has made it known he doesn't care about Shigaraki, Compress appears to be out of the picture, Skeptic is not in his inner circle, Twice is dead, and Toga is... well, Toga. And now we were told that Spinner is actually Shigaraki's most devoted follower within the League, I think it makes sense that Shigaraki will grow closest to Spinner. Especially now that he's taken such big losses at this point in the story.

TBH I don't think spinner necessarily needs an awakening. His quirk isn't among the more OP around but it doesn't mean it can't be effective. He has a lizard type mutation and physiology... That alone should give him physical capacity well above most non boosted humans. It's probably even the reason he is currently able to function as a villain at all, considering that nothing we know of his background suggests he should have any degree of competence at fighting or anything really. Being a lizard odds are spinner also enjoys some form of regeneration which he has never gotten the chance to use before... Add to that the mobility his wall climbing ability gives him. Spinner for the most part just needs training.

That said, his quirk alone won't be enough to make him a threat comparable to dabi or shigaraki. Overall the most he can aspire to is to be a sort of beefed up stain, with a lot of training of course. Stain was just a normal ass human with a weak quirk, he got that far because of his absurd skill level so that his weak quirk could be used to catch people off guard.

He was always an odd case for me, his quirk was last to be revealed and only lets him sticks to walls. He was already in a stressful environment and seen no improvement unlike toga and twice. I think his quirk is going to be similar to that guy who looks like beast in class b. That's why I believe it's a transformation quirk
