The name is Samehada. Kisamehada.

I have the feeling that there is this great fantastic pun here, but I can't seem to figure it out. You will have to do with my poor attempt.

Well, 472 turns out to be a complete chapter all about Kisamehada vs Killer Bee. I had expected some more moving around, as we have seen the last many weeks. The focus has never rested on any particular event for very long, so a nice full chapter chronicling the epic battle 'tween mighty octopus and malicious shark was more than I had hoped for. And the fight takes some interesting turns during this chapter.

First of all Pope Rocketfist III and Sabuchan get some more screenplay. I had initially dismissed those as unimportant, and in a way you can say I was right in that prediction. However they do become somewhat important in the fight even if it is not as Kisame's enemies.

You may remember from last week that everything got enveloped in a huge sphere of water, so obviously oxygen is a problem. So Killer Bee attempts to do the only right thing, which is to get those 2 out of the sphere before they drown, then take on Kisamehada. And here we learn something very interesting about that huge water sphere jutsu: It moves with Kisamehada in its center. Well if you stop and don't think about it for a second that makes sense. The space around Kisamehada becomes the water sphere. But then again how the hell does Kisamehada swim in it? If it had been a huge immovable sphere, then it would look more like all other elemental jutsu we have seen (they all create the actual fire/mud/wind/whatever and then the jutsu is "over"), but instead this jutsu has a weird twist to it.

Then again, jutsu are not there to make sense. This one in particular is an excuse to explain this next tactical move, which actually makes sense:

Anyways Killer Bee sprout tentacles:

2 things.
First of all I bet you are all thinking "can Naruto also sprout tails?". Because that is what I'm thinking at least. Wouldn't that look cool? Naruto in sage mode with a couple of rasengans and 9 cute tails (whipping angrily at everything around him).
Secondly it resembles Sasuke's ability to manipulate his curse-shizzle. Although I'm not sure if we are supposed to interpret it this way, Sasuke might be dealing with the curse mark as Naruto is dealing with his "curse". They are both able to manipulate those curses and turn them into a strength, symbolizing strong will, exemplified by tails/wings.

But for that to happen we probably need Killer Bee and Naruto to meet up, as many people have speculated will happen. For some reason, when the chapters contain mainly talk and revelations, I only seem to notice the pretty pictures etc., but when we have a pure fight chapter like this one, the part of my brain designated to making predictions for Naruto goes on overdrive. While Kisame meeting Naruto is enough of a reason for Kisame not to get his way, we learn something else in this chapter that can only mean Kisames imminent doom.

I'll just skip past the rest of the fight sequence and till the end. Kisame has beaten Killer Bee, and is about to cut of his legs (I don't wanna know why -.-), and then Samehada goes Kabuto. Well actually I should clarify that I mean Kabuto, as an Akatsuki spy crossing over to Orochimarus side, whom he was supposed to spy on. Not Kabuto during chunin exams turning out to have been evil all along.

So, Samehada refuses to cut in Killer Bee, and the chapter ends with Kisame just about to cut off Killer Bees legs. What will happen next? I don't know. Sabuchan and Pope Rocketfist III are still around, and Killer Bee just got some chakra from Samehada, so everything is possible. Point is that whatever happens, Kisame does not have a future in Naruto (I think). Simply because of this betrayal from Samehada.

Kisame is a perfect ninja for fighting biju. Bijus are by definition large masses of chakra, and Samehada eats that stuff. We have seen during Kisame vs Killer Bee exactly why Kisame was/is so strong, but we also knew that he was no match for Madara/Itachi anyway. His role in Akatsuki has mainly been catching Bijus, but now Madara got the first 7, and the 8th has so much chakra, that Samehada chooses it over Kisame. For all his strength, Kisame wouldn't be able to catch Naruto either. Samehada would probably just betray him for the Kyubi.

And add to that, that we have just seen Kisames ultimate ability. We usually only see the villains' ultimate abilities once.

Anyways I don't think I can draw much more interesting stuff to say about this chapter. Overall I enjoyed it, and it was nice to see Kishimoto use an entire chapter on one specific event. But then again I would also really like to see many of the other things going on right now.

Rating of this weeks chapter: 7/10.
7 is a high rating for a chapter that I don't have that much to say about. I just enjoyed it so goddamn much that I can't give it 5.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed the review, and if you didn't then at least enjoy my "paint-job" up there. I don't pay atention to tactical explanations if they aren't expressed with small cute character heads, and why should I? Why should anyone?
