I rewatched Tokyo Ghoul Jack today and something that Minami said just as she was about to have her life snuffed out of her by Arima really hit me right in the heart...She said "Retards like that need to experience Death in order to appreciate Life"
I know it's not fair for me to say this because the Humans in this world have been completely mislead/misinformed, about a Ghouls Nature! But they really have no idea what Ghouls have done to survive in the past and what they had to do to continue on living, They had to struggle integrating in a world that wasn't theirs at all and it really breaks my heart how, something so monstrous can be more Human than a Human who conduct monstrous acts and yet be called a Hero, whereas a Ghouls have to surrender to their primal instincts unwillingly and Kill, in order to survive and are looked on as though they're Monsters?
I mean Ghouls in the now have friends, partners, acquaintances, jobs, schools and a Life ahead of them and all they want is to live a Life with a Meaning. But...they're hunted like animals and put into cages and poked and prodded daily, weekly, monthly, yearly with no hopes of escaping or being set free! Yes Ghouls have done heinous acts too but in a way it was kind of like they were balancing the playing field. Ghouls were in a way sending a message to the Humans saying "You do that to our people, and we'll do that to yours", and then the Humans get mad? Um as far as I'm concerned the Humans deserve the same equal treatment that the Ghouls have had done to them in the past...
Yes the Waashu's/V played both sides in order to protect their identities but even regardless of it, did the Humans have to go on with what they were told and say "Yeah they're right let's kill them...let's hunt them down and Kill them like the animals they are!" Fair enough not a lot of Humans in the past had that mentality and some of them even had Ghoul partners, and we have no clue as to what happened in Europe, America, Russia, Africa, Arab Nations not to mention Australia and other parts of the world? Surely there must have been Nations that learned to co-exist right? I understand that the Waashu's maybe had some kind of influence in other parts of the world, but surely not everywhere right?
The question I want to as you is...Who are the "REAL" Monsters here?
