Tegami Bachi (or Letter Bees) are couriers that deliver important letters and packages throughout the land of eternal dusk, Amber Ground.

The story revolves around Lag Seeing, a young boy who was born on The Day of Flicker, 12 years ago when the man-made sun went down for unknown reasons. The manga follows his ambition to become a Letter Bee and how he follows the path of his idol Gauche Suede who went missing...

I've picked up the first two volumes in Japanese, and the art style is very pretty indeed. I'd love to see this series get scanlated. ^_^

WOW! and to make a point, its popular enough to make the jump(hehe) to jump square, so it must be pretty damn good.

It seems- without me having hammered out a full translation, but just by skimming- to be about a boy named Lagu/Ragu, whose goal is to become a tegamibachi- a "letter bee", or someone whose purpose is to deliver important mail. Hereafter, I'm calling him Lagu, because Ragu reminds me of pasta. >_> In any case, when he was quite young, he was befriended by one of the tegamibachi and he was so down upon his luck and so grateful for the attention and help that he wanted to do the same when he got older.

This backstory takes up most of the first volume, but toward the end is several years later, when he meets a young girl named Nicchi who's being kept prisoner; she is not human, and presumed dangerous. At first, he takes on the task of delivering her as a "package" as he's asked- but in the end, they give the people who'd kept her there their just desserts and take to traveling together. In the second volume, he and Nicchi go about attempting to make sure a particularly important letter gets where it needs to be.

Since it's a Jump series, there's of course weird magic and monsters and lots of action in addition to the pretty art. ^_^

But he grows up to be pretty cool in his own right.

Later, Nicchi finally gives Lagu her name.

And finally, Nicchi watches the memories of Lagu's (angsty) childhood.

If there aren't any raws for this, then I might get volumes 1 and 2 to scan (hopefully soon when my scanner is fixed).

I still need to get the volume. I'll have it scanned in a week or two. Just a reminder, since kyoko-b is scanning vol.1, I'll go forth in scanning vol.2. My bookstore doesn't have vol.1 in stock.

Hi there !
Unfortunately, I bring bad news: I will probably not be able to scan volume #1 until the end of this month.

Actually the problem is that my scanner is not compatible with my Operating System.it's just compatible with Windows, but currently I've got Linux (anybody knows ? complicated. xD)
I might have received Windows a week ago !! they are late. but I still wait, Once I receive it, I'll be able to scan Tegami Bachi.

I'm really sorry, someone on the internet will probably scan it before, but anyway, as I said, I'll do it as soon as possible. *keep hope* XD

And thanks to fkeidjn for #2 (is it as good as #1 ?)I'm planning to buy it too lol
(you've got a scanner prob too? >.< )

(and my english is NOT pretty good lol )
