Sam Adams makes dozens of different beers, but yes they make Lagers.

Oh. I probably don't like lager, then. I didn't like that Sams Adams I had at the restaurant.

Pretty much every light beer is a lager

I would like to try the Rochefort brews, but it's much less convenient to buy it in singles. It's pretty damn expensive.

While not cheap it is comparable to buying it by the glass at a bar.

Even with the price bump that bars have? It's like $7 a bottle at the place I go to, both 8 and 10. I hear 8 is better than 10.

Rochefort 10 at the Mussel Bar is $15. Buying a single bottle cost $10 and change. Some beers, like Orval, would be priced the same whether at a pub or from the store. I can't speak for Rochefort 8, I have not had tried it yet, but Rochefort 10 is very interesting. It's a bit like a more balanced Kasteel Triple. There is a strong alcohol flavor but it is balanced by a nice fruitiness with hints of berries. A great beer for anyone looking for a strong ale but not a favorite of mine.

Corsendonk Double was very good, not as good as the Christmas blend but still recommended. A little drier and more tart than the average Belgian ale. I'm going to try the triple tomorrow.

Wow, well from what I'm getting is you need to find a better store to buy your beer from. You mentioned how much something was previously and it was much more expensive for you than it's price at where I go :s

Looks like $7ish to buy at stores, $10-16 at bars.

It's also due to it being imported as well.

We import it too :-)
I don't think any transport justify such a price difference. But maybe they are imported in very low quantity making it a rare product

After living one year in germany, drinking a fransiskaner is something special to me. So yes drinking it in a large round stemmed glass was disappointing especially when i'm in a bar which is supposed to be specialized. With the price they sell beers in France, they can buy glasses.
Pic for you who likes Fran~ and Guinness.

But there's not an Ocean separating you :XD

Not saying the dollar doesn't factor into it, but beer (even beer that originated in foreign countries) which is brewed/bottled here is much cheaper. Weihenstephaner is even pretty cheap in comparison to many Belgian brews.
