First of all, I'd like to compliment you on your work, it's clearly superior than most translations out there.

Secondly, I'd like to make a request. There's a group that needs your help desperately. This group does a manga called Bleach. There were times while reading their work when I thought "Wow, this peolple sure could use a hand in their translations" (see note below). The main guy behind this project is Kubo Tite, please help him.

In case you're still not convinced this'll do it: in a color cover with vampires as theme appeared this sentence : "All peoples are vampires". Yeah, they printed that. If "peoples" doesn't exist, why worry about that? Why should they concern themselves with something as mundane as collective nouns and their non-existant plurals? Take this other example: Chad's arms are called "Brazo derecha del gigante" and "Brazo izquierda del diablo". Of course, if they give a shit about foreign languages then naturally spanish is completely disregarded, because even though an entire continent speaks it, they're all poor trash.

Since you read Kubo's nonsense every week, you probably noticed that the guy isn't right in the head. But I'm not you asking to do something impossible like taking Kubo out of the path of insanity, just help him with the grammar and the like. He needs it. Badly.

Note below: I didn't think that in english. My mother tongue is spanish (just look at my flag), so my comment about Latin America (besides being for an ironic purpose) can't be considered discrimination.

Hey, just a question about the last chapter of D Gray Man while I'm here. When Marie ask Miranda if she's allright, which "you" is used in Japanese ? Like they're just friends, less than that or more than that ?

People keep asking around whether or not Miranda and Marie are a couple. Maybe we can know this with the level of politeness in Japanese, can't we ?

And the other thing is juste to have a formal yes or a formal no for my request up there T_T ?

So that I can stop searching or searching again... I would really appreciate if it was you though, you're clear and I sort of like your mind. You would be a fuckin' hero for all Karakuri Circus fan, all over the world.

There's no "you" in that sentence in Japanese; Japanese doesn't tend to use pronouns too much, especially in the second person. His speech with Miranda is pretty informal, and he doesn't use any honorifics with her name, but he seems to use casual speech and no honorifics with most people, so it doesn't necessarily indicate anything.

And I might check out Karakuri Circus if I find the time and I feel like it. Wouldn't hold my breath if I were you, though ~~

This time I have a real question. Ever since started reading Fairy Tail I've ben wondering, does Happy really say "Aye"? (I guess it would be "aie" in katakana?)

There's something that has been bothering me for a while. I've seen in A LOT (more thatn you think) of Edited Mangas that they put the possesive pronoun "their" as "they're" or even "there". Isn't that terribly wrong? (If it's correct then I've been studing english 12 years for nothing).

Thanks so much for translating Kekkaishi!
Its currently consuming my every thought and having someone translate the chapters as well as you do is really awesome.
I read all the other main stream manga, like Bleach, One Piece and Naruto.
(mostly out of a feeling of duty. They started off interesting, but they're kinda loosing their flare now... except for One Piece which will remain forever awesome.)
So Kekkaishi is currently my favorite series and with the raws so far ahead of the translated manga its reassuring knowing you're the one translating. I was worried the person who translated the manga wasn't really interested in the series at all and was dropping it, but you're a very dedicated person so this thread really put my worries at ease.

The manga was translated and editted up to chapter 13, by TJO. Damn good translation!

Well, its story is good, characters is fascinating. But I must say the quality of translation is very very good. Nearly the best of all manga ever translated.

Can you achieve the same quality or, better yet, surpass the level of quality of its past 13 chapters? That is the challenge.

Silly me, I thought aye was spelled as aie in jap/esp phonetic. Then I remebered the acknowledgement voice of the Elven Destroyer from Warcraft 2 "Ai,ai ser". I don't know why I'm posting this, since only people who know english, japanese and spanish and played Warcraft 2 would understand it, and that is an awfully small percentage of the population of MH I believe.

Well, as I'm sure anyone who reads my translations can testify, there are moments when I feel inspired to insert random translation notes saying things like THIS IS SO FREAKING EPIC, or something along those lines

Haven't read the previously asked questions.. Except for the last 2 pages but here goes:

- Have you never worried about possible lawsuits because you translate licensed series?
- Average time you spend on translating chapters each week?
- Favourite manga that you translate?
- Why do you translate.. Altruism? Practice? To combat your eternal boredom?
- Favourite movie (not anime movie)?

- Lawsuits? Hell naw. Who would go after me with lawsuits? There are a ton of people it would make more sense to go after than me, and it's not like they're in any huge danger either. The thought hadn't even really crossed my mind.

- Who knows ~_~ I don't time myself. I'm not even sure how long it takes me per chapter. The people who sit around waiting for my translations probably have a better idea than me XD

- I usually go for One Piece as an answer to that question. Though I love them all

- Because I feel like it. And to a lesser extent, practice does come into it. Mostly it's just because I love reading manga, and now that I can read Japanese, I feel compelled to read the RAWs rather than Edited Mangas (even if I did trust other people's translations, I enjoy it better in the original Japanese), and translating allows me to both make sure I understand the RAWs properly and get the satisfaction of producing something worthwhile at the same time. Can't lose.

- Not really a huge movie-watcher, and I can never be bothered to actually think hard about that question... but I do have a stock answer: Oldboy. (Don't take it as definitive or anything, I'm sure there are any number of movies I'm overlooking. But Oldboy did rock. Oh, and it's a total coincidence that the movie's based on a manga. Didn't even know that when I watched it. And I haven't read the manga in question.)
