I was thinking male hairstyles are harder? They all spike up in wierd ways and are incredibly difficult to shape even with like a bucket of gel...:crying

I mean you have heaps of anime characters who just have long hair which flows down; is that impossible? (I know nothing about girls hair :XD)

Unless you intended to cosplay as a bishounen, then that's the hugest pain ever. My only advice is gel, gel and more gel. Otherwise some hair spray or something.
Oh, most definitely. :XD Cosplaying male characters can be difficult because some of their hairstyles are almost impossible in the real world. (Case in point: Yugi Moto.)

I have shoulder-length hair that has a slight wave in it so I'll need a lot of hair spray if I were to use my own hair. When I say a lot, I mean A LOT. :p Especially when the character I want to cosplay is Road Kamelot.

You could use wigs....they sell anime-cosplay wigs online. Otherwise, you can get a wig from Party City or other costume stores and style the wig at home. It can get uncomfortable and hot if you're outside too long, but wigs are much easier to style than hair. (in my experiences, not sure about others.)
I thought about purchasing wigs from anime cosplay sites, but I'm trying to spend as little money as possible, ha ha. It's the tough decision between convenience and frugality.

A pattern like.. a shear. The paper with outline, shows you where to cut, sew etc XD

Nevermind, I probably found the prettiest out there :)

Didn't think there would be some cosplays out there for Tiger & Bunny. I was suprised to find that there were some decent ones xD~

Wild Tiger

Wild Tiger & Barnaby - I like the camera shot and pose the two cosplayers act out in this one. Really good picture overall. ^^

Hard to find some outstanding cosplays but this one from HxH definitely is a pretty awesome one!

Chrollo from HxH

Last one for now:

Tsubasa from Kurogane~

Pretty amusing facial expression. I don't think he's taking it seriously. It's like he's finding it hard to keep a straight face.

Wow, I'm impressed by the fact that there are already cosplays for Assassination Classroom. I never knew it was this popular tbh.

The kyojin cosplay is actually pretty scary when seen like that. :sweatbunny

Too bad I am too old, but I woudl love to see someone Cosplay Ruka from Steins Gate. I know up front it will be hard to pull off. But I think she is so cute! Transgender or not doesn't mean a thing to me.

The ad-banner on the 2nd volume of AC says Tankoubon copies already reached 1.6 million issues.

To put that in perspective, the last time a Jump hit reached that kind of numbers this fast was Death Note back in 2004, which was an instant hit and reached 2 million copies with the first two volumes.

Cosplay is awesome! I guess I've been cosplaying for about 3 years now? First cosplay was at Chibicon 2010 in the Netherlands and I've been doing it ever since. Have been to quite a few cons and meets now. I found myself a nice group of friends to cosplay with and have fun.
I have 5 or 6 different costumes right now and there are still some I want to add. I'd preferably make them myself, but I have a hard time to find good (cheap) fabric... so, it's not going as smooth as I want.

Let's see if I can find some pictures of some of my cosplays...

Ciel Phantomhive (lady version) from Kuroshitsuji (Taken at the Elf Fantasy Fair 2011 in Haarzuilens, Netherlands)
I've never been as busy having my photo taken as that day! ABout 5 minutes after entering the festival ground I had about 3-5 (semi-pro) photographers trying to take a picture of me at the same time. Kinda confusing. Later that day, when I was with some friends, about 8 (semi-pro) photographers tried to take pictures of us at the same time. This is one of the pictures take by one of those photographers and I think it turned out kinda okay.

Sakura from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles (Taken in March 2012 somewhere in the Netherlands)
I'm kinda proud of this one, as I made the costume myself. I didn't completely turn out as I wanted, but considering it was my first ever attempt on making a costume it's not bad at all!

Kagamine Rin from Vocaloid (Taken at the Japan Market May 2012 in Leiden, Netherlands)
I ordered this costume online, but in the end I had to remake most of the shirt, because it was too small. The pictures also show my friend, who cosplayed Len. I really kinds like these photos and I hardly ever really like photos that are taken of me. ^-

^This picture was taken as the Japanese Garden of the Hortus Botanicus. It was pretty warm that day and I was growing quite some nasty blisters on my feet, so I'm not wearing my shoes here.

^Another picture taken at the Hortus

^After the market we went out in the city and played with the water.

Well, these are 3 of my cosplays.
