Now this is my kind of thread
I was told to follow Dexter for some time and after Heroes' cancellation and growing tired of True Blood, I figured it was time to pick up another ongoing series. I had Seasons 1 and 2 boxsets sitting around for a while and finally decided to give the series a shot late November 2010. I ran through the first season during Thanksgiving weekend and got around to catching up with the series entirely by January 2011.
What drew/draws me into the series is the fact that we're not dealing with superpowers. Strange, considering I'm posting this on MangaHelpers but the realism of the story is definitely a drawing point for me. That and the vigilante/Batman feel of Dexter's character keeps it fresh, IMO.
Personally, I feel there was close to no development story-wise when it came to Season 5. Honestly, between Season 4's finale and the end of Season 5, nothing concrete has happened to change Dexter's path, I think. In regards to the original post, I'll answer the questions without throwing another spoiler essay your way.

Still, the series can only be handled in certain ways. Looking at how the seasons have turned out, we (the viewers) are dealing with a certain formula which usually works like: What if Dexter had a sibling that was like him (Season 1), thought that there was someone who understood him (Season 2), introduced the code to a 'friend' (Season 3), found someone who he wanted to emulate (Season 4), and most recently, found a survivor turned lover who too was introduced to the code (Season 5).
I'm not saying that this is a bad thing, but with at least Seasons six and seven on the way, you can only imagine how long Dexter can evade capture or, at the very least, keep his dark passenger away from Deb.

Who's your favorite character?
Doakes. I kid, but he was definitely a favorite character of mine. Honest answer is Dexter, which is a no-brainer.
Your favorite "bad guy"?
In the literal sense, Dexter. But in terms of the series and its antagonists, I feel that Season 1 is the most powerful season yet. Comparable to Bleach and the Soul Society arc, if you will. That said, I think Brian was probably the best "bad guy" out. Still, the Trinity Killer is a (dis)honorable mention. Oh and Leila was really, really, REALLY hot, no pun intended.
Who do you hate the most?
Not sure. Most of the characters that I hated (Trinity Killer comes to mind) were killed off already. I'm no fan of Debra though. As a matter of fact, I appreciated LaGuerrta (sp) earlier in the series for putting Deb on blast. For what it's worth, I don't hate any particular character as much as I hate some of the things they do (LaGuerrta and her somewhat self-driven actions come to mind as well).
Who do want to/think will die this season?
Quinn. His relevance is dated. That and maybe another death close to Deb will lead her in the direction of what Dexter truly is, developing the story on a whole other level.
Do you think there will another season after this one?
I believe I read something about six and seven being confirmed, so yes. As much as I like the series, I don't want it to drag on to the verge of cancellation, much like Heroes did. It would be nice to see the series rap up within ten seasons or so. How? That's up to/the writers' problem
