The Fake Existence
It' have been years since Hoshigaki Kisame debuted in chapter 139 as Itachi's partner, in the organization known as Akatsuki. This week's chapter however ends the journey for the man who was more successful capturing Bijuu for the organization. This week chapter is not about laughs, is dead serious, as part of his past is revealed by Aoba's Technique.
The friendly reminder
You can feel the wind, but you can see it?. This chapter reminds us Naruto is such good read, Konoha is one of five big nations and sometimes we forget about the stories that has never been written from other shinobi, just because we don't see something, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. that's where our imagination enters.
Hopefully all the readers of the manga will realize the range of possibilities that this manga offers, and won't take as granted things, especially without evaluating the characters fairly. There's too much to look into, before assuming that J > Z.
The Ruthless Youth
Finally we got to see the ruthless side of Gai. This man who in this first part claimed to be stronger than Kakashi as he had 1 win over Kakashi, has proven that indeed his quite unique, being so strong without using ninjutsu or even gen jutsu like his rival and friend Kakashi, talks a lot about the effort his put to become so strong as a shinobi. During Tsunade's arc, Itachi told Kisame and Akatsuki to not underestimate Gai and right the reasons are pretty obvious, as he display power equal or stronger than the used by Naruto Rasen Shurinken against the Kyuubi battle.
You better follow his command.
Konoha Shinobis
Konoha shinobis are boxes of little surprises, each one of them, Last week I thought that Aoba's strength was gathering of information and control, in the Hidan vs Kakuzu arc he managed to gain time to save Shikamaru with his thousand crows technique, last' week he tried to immobilize Kisame and this week he surprises us with a technique used by Konoha's intelligence squad...
and trough him we are able to know a little more about Kisame and Madara.
Kisame's past
One of the most interesting things about Kisame's past is that there still were people who could show sympathy to each other during the era that Kirigakure was known as the bloody mist village. But also how Kisame tried to avoid creating bonds with his comrades and how polite he replied to this Kunoichi from Kirigakure.
The next interesting aspect of the chapter, was that Kisame wasn't the first wielder of Samaheda, he became the wielder by killing his taichou/senpai, who was actually leaking information to Konoha, before that killing his comrades so the information would not reach enemies hands.
Kisame was dealing with existential conflict, questioning himself about what he was friend? foe? where can I go?, those are question related existentialism. A very interesting twist considering that everything we saw in Kisame so far was shinobi who rips things and enjoys the smell of the blood, describing very well, a shark.
Yondaime Mizukage
There's have been a lot of speculation about what Kisame meant by calling Madara former Mizukage. The first time we got to know about this reality, was when Madara revealed his face to Kisame, before meeting with Taka. At first some tought that Madara founded Kirigakure after being defeated by Shodaime. Later during the meeting of the Kage we found out that Ao was capable of seeing trought Yondaime Mizukage's genjtusus due his Byakuugan eye, that pretty much means being able to go trough Sanbi's genjutsus and back then Ao was able to tell about the Uchiha Shisui doujutsu, but he never really spoke about Yagura being controlled by a similar technique.
Now we confirm that the man pulling the string behind Yondaime Mizukage was the man who calls himself Uchiha Madara, There are a few things that this chapter confirms, whoever this man is, he has an equal doujutsu power to the one used Uchiha Shisui or maybe beyond those powers, is this the power to control beyond Shisui, is this the power of Mungen Tsukiyomi?
Kisame's Loyalty.
For first time in the manga we have seen this aspect from Kisame, the man is truly loyal to Madara and his ambitions as his cuts his own tongue, with his teeth. This is not seppuku or hariquiri, butdoing this to himself before allowing the enemy to know more about Madara's plan is a way to prove his loyalty to this masked man.

Opinion
The chapter was great, it changed the tone that was coming from the previous chapter with such great pace, honestly the last chapter felt like being forced, but now that we got this chapter it went as one my predictions " I just see Kisame diying if Kishimoto is coming with something great" and this was great enough to make up for the last chapter, for those who still disliked it and to give us a whole new insight of Akatsuki... as it shows us a side we never knew from Kisame and Gai.
Both Kisame and Gai fought for similar goals, Kisame back then fought to protect the information from the enemies by killing his comrades and later after that killing his superior, we got see the "kind" side of Kisame, even if it was just being polite and how loyal he can be towards a person and/or objective, to the point of killing himself, before spoiling everything, just like harry potter die hard fans.
As for Gai, we got to see his ruthless and more serious side, we knew Gai was powerful, but how powerful he could be, that was something totally amazing, as he reach a similar strength of Naruto using his rasen shurinken while fighting inside his own mind. When we are discussing the strength of Characters, we generally talk about what they have done in the manga and a bout the overall data-book stats, 34, 35, 36, etc. But it seems that we fail to fail to properfly analyze it, for example Kakashi has 34.5, while Itachi only have 35.5, that would be just one point ahead, but Itachi totally pwns Kakashi, so we gotta have to learn how to evaluate databooks stats comparing it to what we have seen in the manga so far.
Aoba, did his job, the man is good at information gathering and control, the first time we saw him attacking was against Hidan using his thousand crows, during Shikamaru's Shippuden arc :P. This makes me wonder why in the hell, Kumogakure is leading the shinobi alliance when his leader has so short temper, the description given by Mifune, even if controlled by Danzou's genjutsu... wasn't wrong. So far Konoha have taken down Hidan, Kakuzu and Kisame... Sasori was mainly taken by Chiyo and Sakura, this means that is a shared credit, so it show so far that Konoha has superior shinobis, even if their military force is not as big as Kumogakure.
Is really hard to tell what's going to happen from now and forward, the comment of Aoba saying that he couldn't get information, makes me thing that he actually just managed to stimulate Kisame's brain, but perhaps he saw at least everything we saw before Kisame bit his tongue. Next chapter will be a transitional chapter for sure and hopefully we'll get to see a little on Akatsuki or Kabuto.
