And Brazil can't win one game against a good team! It is about time the coach (or manager is more correct?) starts to think again his formation and ideas!!!

Andre Santos, who made that mistake, and Dani Alves were on vacation and without training for about a month. He could rethink about calling Marcelo and obviously Hernanes (Brazil needs someone who can shoot well from far). Then Ganso don't play an important game here, a classic, against the first place in the National league (that is in the middle here), and Ganso only plays the final 20 minutes? Who was in his place? Fernandinho!?

Germany has a good team, but there are at least 3 better coachs than Mano... Jorped must know Luis Felipe Scolari....

QPR HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! WHAT A SHAMEFUL PERFORMANCE TO WATCH! :fail

I was concerned by the fact that they didn't spend or sign many free players this summer. Maybe, it's not too late but they're going to have a hard time this season...probably as difficult/bad as West Ham in the Championship league tbh. I hope they stay up. I really enjoyed watching them last season. =/

Arsenal... BWAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAH!

I watched the Liverpool game. All I got to say, is that Sunderlands tie goal was very handsome.

Indeed I am. Even though Malmo fell against Zagreb (3-4 agg) and will resort to Europa League (same goes for FC Copenhagen) I'm still very excited about the drawing today.

Also, give Carroll ten games in Pool with Suarez, and then we'll see who's complaining about what transfer!!! :yelling

I am definitely going to follow the lots. Even though Porto is at the first lot, we can still face very strong opponents. I just hope that we are not the unlucky ones that have Manchester City in the group. But no matter the group i have confidence that we are going to pass :amuse

And tomorrow Barça-Porto game :zomg I can't really wait for it :woo

Barça is not going to be at full force, since Piqué and Puyol are not going to play, but we Porto are in a more terrible situation. We don't have Falcao, that went after money of a much inferior team, even though he could possibly be in a any of the big teams. Alvaro Pereira is much likely going to be sold to Chelsea and he wasn't even called for the game. And i don't know why but Fernando still hasn't being called * another one that is prolly going to be transfer, to Italy much likely* and without him we have to play with Souza that isn't still a very good choice imo.
It will be needed a miracle for my team to win :crying

Now, I'm pumped for the upcoming Champions League Season. This will be hard for me because two of my favorite teams are in the same group namely; Borussia Dortmund and FC Arsenal. But nontheless I'm looking forward to these matches. And I'm also confident that both clubs have a good chance to pass. Even if Arsenal have a lost two superstars on their team! :D

I don't really know how strong any of the teams except Arsenal are, though if Borussia play wells i don't really think it will be impossible for them to get second place. Arsenal is definitely a bit weaker, now that he lost both Fabregas and Nasri but he also got new very good players.

I didn't like much the results, since Porto's group is not an easy one, though Porto imo is definitely the favourite. But the reason why i don't really liked the results was the fact that if we pass there's a chance we might have a game against Barça, that his the best team imo.
Barça has AC Milan on his group, so if they by any chance loose points ..... facing Porto ..... i don't want that too happen :yelling

And tomorrow Barça vs Porto :zomg

You know, I think that Dortmund has a very good chance to pass this group. Only one player left us for Real Madrid and he was the heart and head of Dortmunds game, that's why, I was concerned how well we would do without him. But now my fears are all gone because the team basically remained the same and some players joined and they adjusted themselves well into our gameplay. :D

I think Porto is a force to reckoned with. Now that Falcao is gone. I think your management will find a good replacement for him like they usually do. You have good scouts for talents in general, that's why, I'm confident that Porto might surprise all of us. :D

Loosing important players really suck and i understand it perfectly, cuz Porto suffers a lot because of it. Imo the market should be closed by now. But if they maintain the other players and also got new ones that are going to give something new, based in your opinion i think they will do well :thumbs

Yeah i hope so. Kleber has potential, but compared to Falcao .... is truly a shame that Falcao isn't going to play this game against Barça :crying
But nowadays money is the most important thing for most players and they don't even care if they are going to play in a more minor team than before. Athletic Madrid isn't a bad team, but someone like Falcao could be in any of the big teams ... that ends being weird imo

Hey, hey, last I checked, Japan calls it soccer as well (granted I think they took the word from American English). Well at least from what I learned in Japanese class :p.

Well since you didn't ask :p, I'll drop some North American soccer knowledge on you (someone please correct any inaccuracies if you catch them). The best league in North America is definitely the Mexican league. For example, during this years CONCACAF Champions league, FC Dallas (Major League Soccer/U.S.) beat Pumas (Mexican Primera Division) in Mexico City. That was the first win for an American team on Mexican soil, ever (and yes that includes our national team). Also, when Barcelona came over here for their preseason tour, Chivas de Guadalajara (Mexican) beat them something like 3-0 (granted Barca had no Messi and it was only their 1st preseason game, but still somewhat impressive for a club that doesn't spend as much as certain teams ;))

As for the MLS (America and like 3 Canadian teams), it is definitely on the rise, both in level of play (compared to its early days) and popularity. As far as level of play is concerned the rules I believe are a little different for the MLS. In order to for the league to survive they had to implement a salary cap (the amount of money they are able to spend on players). As of 2011 the cap was $2,650,000 (£1,633,278.73). Teams get 3 players that don't count against the cap (the Beckham's and the Henry's and players like that). Hence teams in Europe pay far more for one player than most teams in the MLS spend on their entire team. Still, though the level of play continues to rise, to point where they can compete against the top Mexican teams.

As far as popularity is concerned, soccer is definitely on the rise in the U.S. It's got its own channels and it's getting more and more coverage on major sports networks. Soccer in the U.S. is about on the level of Hockey in U.S. as far as popularity is concerned. Crowds are getting larger and larger (certain teams sell out virtually every game). Also, the future is bright for U.S. Mens National Team; as of about a month ago, we've got a German coaching us now (Jürgen Klinsmann) :D (no, I don't want to hear from Bayern fans about his time coaching there, it might depress me). Also, in the small possibility you don't know, the Mexican National Team is damn good (I'm not just talking about Chicharito). I'd watch out for them come 2014.

Once again, I know you didn't ask but you also said you didn't know anything about American soccer, and I also wrote much more than I wanted. One question for you fans of the sport I call soccer do the European leagues have anything similar to a salary cap or is it spend all you want (I'm looking at you Manchester City and Barcelona).

One last note, as far as the uefa champions league goes, I have to pull for Arsenal. I've never liked them, but I kind feel for that team and their fans. It would be pretty awesome and a big kick in the jewels to Fabregas and Nasri if they miraculously won the whole damn tournament. A man can dream can't he.

Thus ends my essay. BOOM!

I understand the notion behind having a Salary Cap, but the structure of MLS is just all wrong. The fact that the "owners" of the teams are actually shareholders in the league...it just leads to fears of collusion and the like. There's also another big problem, that despite having a pyramid system like all other major countries with soccer leagues, there is no system of Promotion/Relegation despite there being multiple league-tiers. The concept is foreign to ALL modern sports leagues here in the US. The idea that a minor league baseball team or minor league hockey team could reach the MLB or NHL if they were good enough or a major league team could be relegated to the minors is just bizarre in the minds of current fans. This has a lot to do with the fact that Major league teams are affiliated with these minor league teams and send their young players to play for said teams as well as purchasing the contracts of players that aren't on their rosters to play in the majors (this doesn't happen as much with top prospects, as they are usually on the Major League's roster and are payed by said team to play in the minors). This concept isn't completely foreign to some soccer leagues in Europe, but it's still not the same as how Baseball and Hockey work.

I think MLS can afford to keep the same system until or if they become popular enough that a Salary Cap/Floor isn't needed. They should also continue to sell teams to individual owners instead of this shareholder thing they've done. Promotion/Relegation HAS to be implemented though in order for the league to ever be taken seriously. I think a Salary Cap exists in the top Australian soccer league, but the only sport in Europe that implements it at all are some Rugby leagues...I think.

I'd also debate the opinion that MLS is as popular as the NHL, I can't agree with that. I'd believe it if we're talking about the National Team or World Cup ratings, but MLS doesn't get the ratings the NHL does. The MLS benefits from having games on ESPN, while the NHL doesn't. I will agree that Soccer is by far a more popular sport than Ice Hockey is in the US, but MLS isn't quite at the level yet of the NHL in my opinion.

What a great disaster! This is probably the biggest humiliation Arsenal had to endure against Manchester United in the entire clubs history! I mean losing is ok but not in this manner 8 - 2 that's a result in a video game. Right now, I'm seriously pissed off, Arsene Wenger better buy some new players because the transfer period is almost over!! :pwnge

Yeah Arsenal was so humiliated by MU :blink
But imo it isn't Wenger's fault. He lost important players and he hasn't really got new ones. Wenger is a great coach, and i always found Arsenal's gameplay one of the most interesting. I hope he"survives" this rough phase.
