According to the rumors Real is going to sell Kaka as they don't want to pay such a big sallary to him, but still for now they are only rumors.:) Especially as there are not that many teams who can not only buy Kaka, but also pay him the salary he has now.:)
So if they sell him, Modric would be a good deal, especially as he won't demand the place in first 11 every match as he isn't a star like Kaka or Özil.:)

Funny how Guti said that Modric isn't good enough for Madrid . Though I agree that Madrid should get Silva (the chance is super slim), Modric is overpriced IMO.

Barcelona sign Jordi Alba. It's kinda official now that Spanish starting eleven only consist of players from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Hey Guys Anyone is gonna come watch the Confederation cup here in Brazil?

Greats teams are in the competition. I guess it will be very interesting. And lets see if the curse continues and the team that wins the confederation cup fails at the world cup.

On another note it has been 10 years since Brazil has won the world cup in 2002 :crying

I still remember that magic game against Germany at the final :crying

The great game against england at the quarters with and epic goal from Ronaldinho Gaucho from the middle field :crying

Such and epic team it was that Brazil. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Kaká. Man a trully All Star team.

@BBB what you think of Ganso's situation? Based on some recent news it really seems that he is definitely going to leave Santos. I just hope he comes to Porto ... even though it might be risky since he has been having a lot injuries.

I really want him to leave Santos... he's not been playing well for a long time now. He has too many injuries indeed and that makes him lose his rhythm every time and when he starts to get it back he gets injured again.

But if he manages to stay without injuries he can become a very good player.

But I honestly lost my faith on him. Plus the fact that he doesn't come back to help defending and that sometimes he seems to be sleeping and loses some stupid balls. I wonder if his great passes and field vision can completely make up for those.

Anyone following John Terry's racism trial? it seems Anton Ferdinand is not really that innocence though.

Read Daniel Taylor's piece on that matters.

The problem with all of these on-field racism charges is that everyone attempts some form of gamesmanship to get in the other player's head. Did Terry say something? Who knows, to be honest. Anton didn't think Terry even said anything when they were on the field. Is racism completely out of line? Of course, but nothing's going to stop. Anton basically admits that he was trying to get under Terry's skin, and if Terry did say anything, it was only retaliation, not a personal attack or anything.

Materazzi insulted Zidane's mother and sister, iirc, which caused Zidane to create one of the most epic moments in sports history, so gamesmanship does work at times.

I don't think that these things should be going to trial anyway. Let the two players fight it out or something.

Would it be fine to give Terry the $2500 fine and walk away? Sure. If Anton could back up his trashtalk and all of this crap on the field, then I'd give it all more weight. The fact is, in the second meeting of QPR and Chelsea, Terry turned Anton into his bitch by scoring a header over him. I trust you'll all remember how that player for one of the random La Liga teams accused Messi of racism. Racism is extremely wrong, but how can you prosecute someone over gamesmanship on the field? If both sides are guilty of something, then no one's guilty here.

The idea of anyone individual being tried for "racism" is pretty foreign to me as an American. It seems like a gigantic waste of money, time, and resources. Let John Terry have his reputation and he'll have to live that down if he even gives a shit. I couldn't give a shit personally either.

Exactly, Gary. Can you imagine if NFL players could be charged for "verbal public order disturbances?" Every single player would be getting accused of something every week.

This case went to trial because a member of the public contacted the police to open an investigation. The crown looked into it, saw that there was a case to be made and began the trial. In the other cases (suarez) no one contacted the police, the CPS did not investigate it and it was left to the FA to deal with it as they saw fit.

About racism as a crime. He is being charged with this subsection 1a. The previous government when it first came into power then made it a further offence if the crime is "Racially or religiously aggravated" under the crime and disorder act (98), so its under two acts. It basically harassment that was racially motivated. That's all.

The most he will get is a fine. But i doubt that since his defence is quite strong.

The highest the fine can be is £2,500, so what's the point of this anyway? The proceedings will cost taxpayers way more than that, and considering that Anton's not exactly innocent, it'll be hard for a guilty verdict to really be passed down.

Because its a crime. That is simply it. The CPS has a public duty. God forbid the day the CPS decides not to prosecute because it costs too much money or the case is too high profile, and in any case something so minor in a small magistrates court in london will not cost a lot. The guilty verdict doesnt really depend on Anton as much, its just on the CPS to prove that Terry said what he said. They're relying on tv footage and lipreaders as far as im aware. Not likely to succeed.

Goodbye ji sung park! I'll miss you. You were the only decent player we had on the bench that could make a bit of a difference. Full of energy and knew how to get tackles in. Fu ferguson! :crying

It's a stupid law that isn't worth prosecuting IMO. He'll pay a fine.....woooooow :sclap

I know, Gary, it seems odd to us Americans, but I guess it's something that they're into. Plus, the Premier League keeps trying to do all of this "RESPECT" stuff, which is why I think they're really doing this. I understand the point of respect in the game, but this is going too far.

Suarez got an eight game suspension for cursing out Evra, and while I understood that the EPL was trying to send a message there, I thought it was way over the line, especially given how gamesmanship is expected in the US. Evra's a bitch and has dived and gotten in cheap shots more times than I can count, plus instigates quite often, so while Suarez was an idiot for acting how he did, he should have known he was being baited and kept his head on straight.

Is that guy Anderson who used to play in Porto still in United? People talked about him as if he was a god in Portugal the new Ronaldinho but he has disappeared leaving no traces.

I want to say that he was injured all of last season, but I could be wrong. Regardless of that, yeah, he never turned out to be that much. It's like how people thought that Kalou was going to be a superstar, and he ended up being a bum.

Really? Anderson? He was never that good imo...

I'm glad Park Ji Sung has left United...now I wouldn't have to watch one of my favourite players playing in that disgusting uniform :derp

I have to say that Nani's the most overrated player in the EPL. I mean, they talk him up and up. Sure he makes some assists and goals here and there, but they act like he's a major star, when that's just not the case. Nani's a good player, no doubt, but not great.

Park was entertaining, but never that good. He sometimes would come on as a sub and make an impact though.

I have no problem with a league wanting to put forth a good image. All leagues do this, even here. That's why you suspend Terry and make an example out of him. But to bring the law into it, just because "someone" complained to the authorities? Ridiculous. If that's the case why aren't people who "assault" another player on the pitch brought up on charges more regularly? There's actual videotaped evidence of such things...so with this we have...like what? Lip-reading? One person's word against the other? :huh. It's stupid in my opinion.
